To join the Lightwings (Lightwings only.)

Elkas stalked through the jungle, swiveling his head from left to right with narrowed eyes. He was ready to become a trainee. But he didn't think he would learn enough from just hanging out with his idiot family. (No offense.) He was ready to join the world. And, of course, to murder his sister, Neru. He would love to do that. He stopped, he couldn't find their village, it was well hidden. He would get nowhere with this! He snarled slightly, and sniffed the air. Looking around closely, he saw small trails through the jungle. Hmmm... they were big enough to have been trodden upon by dragons. He followed them, heading towards the strongest scent. Eventually, he decided to stop and rest. sitting in the shade of a tree, he waited causally to be escorted to the Lightwing palace. He was resting in the shade of a large tree. Elkas, with nothing better to do, started reading about the Lightwings in a scroll, but always with one eye open. The jungle was full of dangers. He wasn't going to get caught by surprise.

Having been heading in from a patrol, Hikari was surprised to see what looked like a flash of black and purple below. It wasn't often a LightWing turned black, and when they did, it wasn't really a good indication of their mood. Worried, Hikari flew in and landed hard on the ground near Elkas, his wings snapping to his side. What is that dragon? he thought, curious. Inwardly, he winced, remembering the last time he'd asked that question to himself. Suddenly sad, Hikari looked at Elkas almost nonemotionally, blinking once. "Who are you?" he asked, starting the customary speech he usually would if an intruder was seen on the edge of the territory. "And why are you here? State your tribe, intent and name. If you cannot answer me these questions, then leave, or I'll have to force you out." It wasn't meant to be a harsh saying, though Hikari knew it had often seemed to be since Jadespine had left him.

Elkas scoffed. "You can try, but doubt you'll walk away in one piece. My name's Elkas, I'm a rouge and I'm looking to join your tribe. So I'd appreciate it if you took me to whoever is in charge. That would also mean no Liightwigns had to find their friend's hacked-up corpse." He grinned, as if he had done something as simple and friendly as greeting a friend. He put one wing gently on his rapier. Now done with his speech, his mind drifted off into how he would kill Neru. He hoped Hikari didn't have any problems with his threat. But he didn't care that much really. He could kill Neru just as well as a rouge.

At the league's reply, Hikari's eyes narrowed slightly, but he made no reaction. He'd never been very easily goaded. The fact that he reacted at all was due to the fact that he was on duty, as of now. So, in the end, he ignored the threat. " Would you like me to take you to Devi?" Now that his words weren't something memorized, Hikari's tone became more simple, straight to the point. He was sure this Elias would be accepted. He'd never known the Light Wings to kick out a dragon, not in his life. The leaders had all been kinder souls.

"Sure, whatever." Elkas said in reply, grinning in a semi-amused, slightly malevolent way that signaled he may be dangerous to those within the Lightwings. He flicked his tail in an unhurried way and considered the roles he could take within the tribe? Healer? No. just, no. That wouldn’t work. Too many annoying complaints, too little action and battles. Tracker, maybe? Perhaps, as a last resort, but it would be boring. He didn’t feel like hunting for everyone else, anyway. Citizen was out of the question. Scholar, he would have no real fighting power or anything. Guardian would be best, certainly. He would learn how to fight, how to maim, how to KILL. He flicked his tongue in and out. He hated this tribe of softhearted lunatics (no offense.) , but he hated his family more. He also wanted an army and to be an even better fighter. Enough to make him want to join the Lightwings. “Well? Take me to Devi.” He said.

What seemed to be a normal day for Devi was soon to change, as he was busy in the palace as normal, he heard a dragon coming down the hallway. Curious he came to the entrance of the chamber as he glanced down he spotted the pair, one of who he reconized as Hikari and the other unknown, strange colours came from the stranger which only made him wonder. walking out of the chamber to greet them he paused and spoke "Hey Hikari, what brings you two here?"

Elkas didn't wait for Hikari to speak. That was probobly what he should have done, but he wasn't going to go waiting around on his new... acquaintance. Instead, he stepped forward, head held high, and gave a brief dip of his head to the new Lightwing, who he assumed was Devi. Then he grinned in his own, nasty way. "I wish to join your..." he paused, looking around, and raised an eye-ridge."tribe." He finished, giving Devi another cruel smile. He thought for a moment, then added, "As a guardian trainee." Only his gently flicking tail-tip displayed his annoyance. Well? He thought. Get on with it. His black scales seemed like a void, sucking in all nearby sunlight. But his gently glowing wings glimmered in the morning sun. He had heard somewhere about trails required to enter a tribe, and wondered what his would be. That was, if the tribe bothered to give him one.

Hikari already wasn't fond of this dragon. Not only was he rude, but spiteful and ignorant as well. His eyes narrowed slightly, but he made no sound when Elkas jumped into the conversation with Devi before he'd even been given a chance to speak. He simply dipped his head to his leader, giving him a warning glance as he pulled it back up. Be cautious with this one, Devi, he thought. He seems like trouble The Guardian knew that, if this one was coming in as a trainee, he had a possibility of ending up his mentor, which didn't sound appealing in the slightest. As always, he'd do his duty for the tribe, of course. No need to show the world discontentment. In fact, the only one who'd even ever seen when he was truly angry or sad was Jadespine. He didn't see the reason to show emotions that betrayed fragility to those who expected him to be the opposite of that. It was counterintuitive, and wouldn't help the tribe's stability in the slightest.

Watching carefully Devi noticed Elkas reaction from his greeting, along with his unnerving smile. "Okay, but what is your name?" glancing briefly over towards Hikari he guessed from his reaction that there was certainly something unusual about this dragon. Nodding towards Hikari for a moment he returned his gaze back towards the stranger. As the dragon certainly was strange, with a unique hide he guessed that he was related to Pulse for which he hadn't seen in ages.

Elkas tilted his head at Devi. "Elkas." He replied calmly. Short and simple. Noticing Devi staring curiously at his hide, he allowed his wings to glow brighter, just to show off. Still grinning, albeit a little smugly, he said. "And you must be Devi,the current... leader." Once again, he paused between the words. If you listened closely enough, you would hear the hidden insult. Elkas didn't think Devi was a very good leader. In his mind a leader was cruel. They forced their lessors to do their bidding, and the higher ups still needed to remember who they were dealing with. Insubordination would result in torture and, more often than not, death. That was what Elkas thought a good leader should be like. Of course, he also wanted to kill his sister for both annoying and escaping him. So perhaps he wasn't the best one to judge.
