Something's Missing..... (NightWings)

The soft, melodious sound of claws scraping against the beautiful onyx floor echoed throughout the cathedral, the ominous shadows of a variety of figures, formed from painted glass, danced on the carved mineral, like ghosts at a forbidding soiree. Something evil radiated from within this great palace of worship, something that could not enter. It lingered outside, looking rueful as it watched its oblivious master enter the halls of god's light. This evil was sickening, foul, and demonic, but yet all dragons had it inside them, just thriving to emerge. This evil had many names: Gluttony, Envy, Lust, Greed, Wrath, Pride, Sloth, Hate, Rage, Vengeance, Malice, and so on. To most people, this sin was simply referred to as "insanity". The wonder of this sin was that no one ever knew they had it, and even if they did, they denied it profoundly, insisting they were alright. No one could escape the grasp of insanity.... unless you stepped into the heavenly light, otherwise known as a church.

A black figure emerged from the darkness of the quartz arches, stepping with royal ignorance, and landing each step with the dignity and softness any member of the royal family should. She held her head high, but only because no other dragon was there. Even after losing her memory, the cousin to the queen, Opal Flare, was still as persuasive and alluring as always. She approached the alter to which they would pay their respects with dignity and royal arrogance. When she was about half a meter away, she stopped, stretching her left front leg outwards, and moving her body into a bowing position. After this, she picked her self up, and bowed her head, closing her eyes. Then she recited her prayer.

"O' goddess and savior, Astral of the Heavens, please help us to wash away our sins, so that we may be blessed with your eternal love. Ignite the blissful fire of redemption in our young, so they may do no wrong. May all who have strayed from your everlasting light redeem their sins, and join you once again in the afterlife. And when our soldiers fall in battle, may they be greeted by your kindness, for you are our creator, and we will never stray. Please accept my most humble gift as a way of thanks, for our life and happiness."

After this most noble speech, Opal spun her head to the left side of her, taking out a Goldenrod flower and a pound of gold to place in the alter as an offering. She approached most humble, placing the two items in with the most delicacy she could manage. She then quickly retreated two meters, bowing her head, and humming low to herself as she closed her eyes, praying.

Xangor smiled satisfied. NightFlare was going to die. However another event happened. A mysterious black dragon approached the group. Xangor took notice of the healer. The black dragon suddenly tried to attack Gemini. Opal, presumably in her innocent form, shielded the NightWing Queen. A blast of energy sent Opal flying. A very devastating attack. Xangor snarled in frustation because they have lost the moment to execute Opal. Xangor growled suspicious towards the strange dragon, ready to fight. "This NightWing is too powerful to just be a healer..." Xangor advised Gemini. "...unless it is a demon." The puzzle's pieces were finally melding together. All the recent events could only be the work of a demon. A demon was messing around. Xangor felt his anger rising. He hated demons.

Moon looked down as another dragon approached-a healer-and looked down at her wing. She looked extended it painfully when he asked her too, when another dragon was suddenly behind Gemini. Moon opened her mouth to call a warning, when Opal-or NightFlare-acted first. The black dragoness backed away-despite her wing-from the other dragoness, confused. That was Opal's ability, not NightFlares. But that was also very forward of her, usual. Her eyes narrowed in thought and confusion. That was also very conveniently timed. As soon as it's announced that Opal was to be killed, another dragon shows up. She shook her head. There was no way she could have done that....could she?

Night flare watches the rogue healer as they suddenly start shooting blast of energy at her. Night flare narrows her eyes and jumps back, only to be hit in the head and the shoulder. Grunting, she falls to the ground, bleeding.

The wild dragon suddenly lunges at Gemini again, attempting to claw out er eyes. Opal shoots another blast at the dragon, before pretending to pass out. The dragon, bleeding, lunges at Gemini for the third time.

Moon lunged away from the healer, and threw her wings open and to the side, despite the fact that one was barely cooperating. A dark wall suddenly formed between Gemini and the other dragon, and he collided with it, screeching loudly. the tracker knew that Gemini could take care of herself, but what was your purpose in the tribe if you only sat and watched your leader being attacked and didn't do anything about it? Moon kept her wings open and extended, keeping the wall up to protect her leader, though she didn't go on the offensive. She was a defensive fighter, not an offensive. Though her alter ego was far more offensive, but while sane, she was almost exclusively defensive.
