Something's Missing..... (NightWings)

The soft, melodious sound of claws scraping against the beautiful onyx floor echoed throughout the cathedral, the ominous shadows of a variety of figures, formed from painted glass, danced on the carved mineral, like ghosts at a forbidding soiree. Something evil radiated from within this great palace of worship, something that could not enter. It lingered outside, looking rueful as it watched its oblivious master enter the halls of god's light. This evil was sickening, foul, and demonic, but yet all dragons had it inside them, just thriving to emerge. This evil had many names: Gluttony, Envy, Lust, Greed, Wrath, Pride, Sloth, Hate, Rage, Vengeance, Malice, and so on. To most people, this sin was simply referred to as "insanity". The wonder of this sin was that no one ever knew they had it, and even if they did, they denied it profoundly, insisting they were alright. No one could escape the grasp of insanity.... unless you stepped into the heavenly light, otherwise known as a church.

A black figure emerged from the darkness of the quartz arches, stepping with royal ignorance, and landing each step with the dignity and softness any member of the royal family should. She held her head high, but only because no other dragon was there. Even after losing her memory, the cousin to the queen, Opal Flare, was still as persuasive and alluring as always. She approached the alter to which they would pay their respects with dignity and royal arrogance. When she was about half a meter away, she stopped, stretching her left front leg outwards, and moving her body into a bowing position. After this, she picked her self up, and bowed her head, closing her eyes. Then she recited her prayer.

"O' goddess and savior, Astral of the Heavens, please help us to wash away our sins, so that we may be blessed with your eternal love. Ignite the blissful fire of redemption in our young, so they may do no wrong. May all who have strayed from your everlasting light redeem their sins, and join you once again in the afterlife. And when our soldiers fall in battle, may they be greeted by your kindness, for you are our creator, and we will never stray. Please accept my most humble gift as a way of thanks, for our life and happiness."

After this most noble speech, Opal spun her head to the left side of her, taking out a Goldenrod flower and a pound of gold to place in the alter as an offering. She approached most humble, placing the two items in with the most delicacy she could manage. She then quickly retreated two meters, bowing her head, and humming low to herself as she closed her eyes, praying.

There was a dragoness who had also come to the church. And she-unlike so many other dragons-was aware and conscious of insanity. But only a part of her possessed it.
She was aware of it's presence and accepted it, but she was not one of those who had it the entire time. Only when she was pushed far. She stepped carefully into the beautiful building. She felt it rude to use her shadow melding abilities inside such a place. She noticed another dragon and hesitated. She was not much of a socialist, but she felt like here was not a place where one would find such a dragon, nor where one would socialize.
She stepped forward again, her feet making almost no noise as she stopped a little behind the other dragon and bowed her head. She was not a dragon of high fortune, and had nothing of massive value to offer, but she had brought her favorite flower. They looked like orchids, but far larger. Black for the most part, with white dots near the center, becoming more and more common until the center was completely white. She set the bundle of tree flowers on the step and stepped back again, lowering her head.

Tenebris lingered for a moment at the entrance of the Holy Sanctuary, embracing a irritating profound remarkable sensation he felt in a halcyon manner. His gaze fixated to the two Dragonesses within, as a small wolfish grin spread across his face at the situation in his utmost arrogance. Striding into the Cathedral with all his overbearing and domineering posture as his footing was ever quiet and delicate, radiating elegance and grace one would expect for an illustrious dance. Tenebris's cold blue metallic eyes forever maintaining their vigil to those Dragonesses along side in the Cathedral as if ignorant to the illustrious carvings and illustrations of the Cathedral itself.
Well isn’t this certainly interesting. He stood for a brief moment a few meters away from both devotees as if in private calculation before lowering his head in acknowledgement and respect to the formalities of the cathedral as a whole and in turn the Goddess Astral. Remaining for a moment as he returned to his vigil of those within the Cathedral, his dictatorial stature ever unfaltering as he raised his head in prideful arrogance while he awaited in subtle silence, perceptive to every movement.

Xangor flew over the cathedral. He was wearing a thick silvery armour with beatiful decorations. He wasn't quite fonded of being assigned to do this job: protect one of Astral's sanctuaries. Xangor is one of those dragons who had lost its sanity years ago. He didn't know love, but only hate. He hated Astral so deeply that he wished to destroy every single part of her body. Then he would torture the remaining soul for the eternity. However, despite Xangor was a evil dragon, he had learned to hide his bad nature. Xangor was a estimated dragon in the tribe, thanks to his good actions for the NightWings. He was also generally talented in almost all the dark arts, like Gemini or Opal Flare. So other dragons also feared him. However the good actions were only covering operations to trick other dragons into believing his sincerity. Xangor's goal was to simply keep doing his criminal activies unnoticed. No one knew the truth about him. The dragon turned his snout towards the impressive cathedral. He didn't really care about that building. Xangor was willing to protect the church, if this would make the tribe happy. The problem was different: the church, being a sacred place, had a strange influence on Xangor. He could feel unconscious messages of peace, love, justice coming from the building. It seemed that the church wanted to purify Xangor from his wickedness. He had already done years ago his choice and he didn't want to go back. With a frustrated growl, he decided to fly away a bit. His red and mysterious eyes turned towards a random direction. It would be better to not look at that church anymore. It had a very "bad" influence on him. It was Xangor's perspective.

A black shadow appeared on the steps of the sanctuary, and then dissolved, leaving a black dragoness standing in her place. Gemini, holding a small necklace in her mouth as an offering, slipped into the sanctuary. Gemini new about the "insanity" that roamed outside of the church, but she felt a bit relaxed, as she knew it couldn't get inside. She ignored Moonshade, Opal, and Tenebris, and softly placed the necklace on the steps. She stepped back, and bowed her head, murmuring a silent prayer to herself. Lifting her head again, her gold and silver eyes scanned the sancutary. She had never had much time to go look around, as she was very busy with other work, so this was the perfect time to go sightseeing.

The insanity outside was very clear to Gemini. It held a dark, foul taste, that reminded her of her traitorous cousin, Nightflare. This insanity felt weak, yet it was being produced in such a way that no mere mortal could comprehend. Yes, mortals had insanity, but it did not radiate from them like it did Nightflare. It was unnatural, and this was one of the reasons why dragons avoided Opal, because of the strange feeling that radiated from her. That, and because of the incident that happened about ten to fifteen years ago. One that many dragons still dread to think about, all except for the insane, bloodthirsty ones who craved insanity and chaos.

What was this event? It had been called "Battle of Allies" by many NightWings, SkyWings, and FireWings. You see, before Nightflare had lost her memory and had become Opal, she was a twisted, evil little demon, who wished nothing more then chaos and evil to spread throughout the land. She had been well known and respected by the members of her tribe, which was how she had earned the rank of lieutenant. She had been exceptionally skilled in the arcane arts, and was almost as skilled with them as Gemini was. The war had started a long time ago, but had not actually taken full force for about five years. Nightflare would, over the course of those five years, sometimes saunter over the border and kill FireWings and SkyWings. The FireWings started suspecting the NightWings, and the SkyWings started suspecting the FireWings. This caused tension between the allies, but it wasn't enough to start full-blown war.

One day, Night realized that just being well-liked wouldn't be enough to alter dragons from their love for Gemini. Night HATED Gemini, because she was probably the most sane out of all the NightWings, and because she was their leader. Night needed to meld the minds of the innocent in order to raise an army. She had started with Xangor, taking control of his arrogant and power-hungry mind quite easily, and then had moved on to more dragons. Gemini because cautious of Night, since she had always suspected the lieutenant of being a traitor, but had never had enough evidence to prove it.

Night, once she had gathered an army, convinced the FireWings to attack the SkyWings. This worked, and the FireWings and NightWings teamed up to attack the SkyWings. During the chaos, Night assaulted the FireWing leader. Dragons were shocked, and Gemini declared she had had enough. Night brought all the dragons she had mind controlled to her side, and started an all out war with the leaders of each tribe and their semi gods. Night, using necromancy, and ressurected her dead grandfather, and he helped to fight the enemies. Xangor had been a semi god at the time, as well, so he had helped fight the SkyWing and FireWing semi gods. Eventually, no one but Gemini was left. Night took on Gemini with the might of a tiger, and the two brawled in the fiercest manner any dragon had ever seen.

In the end, Gemini had defeated Night, and then had banished her. Night disappeared for ten years after this, only to reappear under the name of Opal. No dragon forgave her for what she had done, which was why Opal stayed in the palace. To this day, no dragon is aware that Night had her memory erased by the gods, or that she used to be the goddess of insanity. But they may find out, very, very soon....

As Gemini walked in, Opal spun around, dipping her head to her cousin and quickly scooting out of the way. Opal became much more self-aware as more NightWings arrived at the chapel of Astral. She dipped her head low and averted her eyes so that she avoided eye contact with any of them. Eve though she tried hard to appear small, it was difficult with her royal fixture. Nightflare's memory may have been erased, but that didn't alter her body one bit. She still looked as maleficent as she had when she had been evil. Opal wasn't really allowed to leave Gemini's side, which was a pain for Gemini, though the queen did like being able to have a cousin who actually loved her.

((Hey, I got an idea. What if Xangor and Opal get in a fight, and Nightflare uses this as her chance to take over Opal. When Tenebris and Xangor see Opal's hidden power, they wish to possess it, but Gemini intervenes in the fight before anyone can get hurt.))

Tenebris turned his attention towards Gemini as she entered the Cathedral, his shrewd eyes catching every moment of the sovereign as she manoeuvred her way to place her offering. Lowering his head despite the disinterest Tenebris kept his formal post as he averted his gaze for a brief moment to the floor as he gave a humble bow with his neck and in unison raised his left foot to his chest out of etiquette, his movements silent and elegant from years of submissive practise in a manner to not draw any attention to himself, although the Queen clearly ignored those present none the less. Returning to his solemn stance he was stalwart and mirthless, his expression emotionless as his previous sadistic grin had faltered into non existence as he stood behind the others once Gemini made her way forward, he shifting in his posture as his eyes continues to examine and calculate all those within the room, although ever drawn to Opal Nightflare, he kept his esteemed arrogant almost noble visage as he drew his eyes to the Altar in an attempt to not allow those present to catch his centralised fixating sight only a moment before. Such a waste...

There were too many dragons here, thought Opal with a nervous flick of her tail. She glanced over at Gemini, wondering if she could leave. She stood up, and, assuming she could, quickly skulked out of the building, keeping her head low. She didn't want to leave the church. It was the only place that made her feel happy inside. The worst part about leaving the church is that each time she entered and left, she would feel the voices in her head got harsher. She didn't like this, and winced as she stepped outside, her tail coiling up as she crouched her body together. She heard the voice much more clearly then she ever had before, her eyes widening as she could actually distinguish words for once.

Let me out.... you are royalty! Do not belittle your dignity! Let me out! Let me put Gemini in her place! Opal froze when she heard this voice. What was the voice talking about? Why would she attack her beloved Gemini? She growled, softly shaking her head in a submissive posture, "N-no...." she whispered to herself, trying to ignore the voice that screamed at her in reply. She tried to make her way back to the palace, but the voice kept screaming at her, and she found it difficult. Finally, she snarled, "Why won't you shut up!" because there was no other dragon around, she got strange looks from some of the dragons outside. Blushing, she quickly made her way away from the church.

Moon flicked her tail as more and more dragons entered the sacred building, and she quickly backed away and went back outside. Moon was as far from social as anyone really could be, and she left before anyone could start talking to her. She watched as Opal started talking to herself, and she tilted her head curiously. Does she have another personality to keep in check as well? She wondered quietly, before following the dragoness as she ran away. Moon was a curious dragon, and she often managed to find her answers.

Nimbus shot a glare at the growing amount of dragons near the church in the distance. Nimbus almost never took part in Nightwing events, activities, conflicts.. he was never really welcomed, and he wasn't very welcoming either. But despite being the God of Death, he still was a Nightwing and often lurked in the forests and shadows this territory bared. He was almost never seen unless he confronted you personally. Nimbus hanged from a rather thick tree branch with the ends of his tail, like a bat. His ears were perked up, or this case, down, straight. His blue optics were open as he occasionally flicked his ears to show a sign that he was alive. His markings illuminated dimly as he gazed at the dragons down at the church. A low grumble and growl escaped his dry lips, "Humph.. wish I had some worshipers.. that'd make my high horse even higher.. not that it was high in the first place.."

((I need Xangor to make a move, since Opal left the church. As for Tene, maybe he could be interested in the presence coming from Opal and decided to follow her?)

Tenebris peaked in his curiosity as he observed Opal, Nightflare depart from the Cathedral and narrowed his stare at her all too apparent frustration, despite his desire to follow he turned his gaze briefly back to the altar and more importantly his Sovereign Gemini. Striding to her side he took a ring which he had enclosed in his right clawed paw, the ring itself Silver with a Onyx coloured Gem which stood out for being well refined, placing the ring on the altar as an offering his eyes scrutinised Gemini in complete silence before turning to take his leave and quench his interest. Purposely Tenebris marched out of the Cathedral, examining the various Dragons as he attempted to lock his gaze before spotting Opal in the distance, her form easy to differentiate from the other Dragons, The very embodiment of hate and malice. Meticulously he made his way to Opal, although constantly maintaining a wide distance for a precise observance through his centralised glare.

(Sorry, I have lost interest in this roleplay. I don't have the inspiration. So my character is out from this roleplay for now)

Opal kept shaking her head as she walked, feeling unnerved, and she kept swaying from leg to leg. She felt drunken, as if her mind had become numb, and slow, like honey. She groaned and stopped walking, freezing on the outskirts of town. She had no idea what was going on. She kept shaking her head, and tilting to random directions, or backing up. The voice kept getting stronger, whispering maleficent things to her. She didn't want to listen to the voice. Gemini had always told her that if she ever heard voices in her head, to ignore them. But this voice was so hard to ignore.... it seemed.... familiar, in some aspect, and yet she couldn't pinpoint what that concept was.

Obey me, you brat! You are Nightflare! Obey me! snarled the voice in her head, radiating to every inch of her brain like an infestation. She yelped and whimpered, shaking her head, and wobbling into a tree. "N-no.... never. Gemini told m-me not t-to.... G-Gemini and Twi-twilight told me not to...." whimpered Opal, crouching low and speaking to the voice that only she cold hear. She had no idea what was going on. Who was this "Nightflare" the voice spoke of? She had never heard of her before. She had heard some of the NightWings whisper about her before, but they always stopped when Opal walked in. Why? Opal wanted to know more about this NightFlare.... but she didn't want to succumb to the voice.... either. Again, she shook her head, whimpering.

The voice hissed. It was like dragging claws against dried clay, not a pleasant sound. Whimpering, Opal, shook her head, crying "Stop it! I don't want to!". To which the voice replied, You can't fight against insanity, Opal! I am you, and you are me! We are chaos! We are affliction! Obey me and I may not destroy you entirely! Opal whimpered, unaware that other dragons were nearby.

(Maybe one of the dragons could distract Opal, so she'd stop fighting Night so Night can take control of Opal. )

Xangor eventually ended his patrol task. There weren't dangers around and the place was safe. Contented to have ended a work that he considered completely dishonourable, he folded his wings to start a little nosedrive. While approaching the ground, his eyes caught the presence of another dragon outside the church: Opal. Xangor and Opal knew very little about each other, but they have often met in the past. Xangor was known to be particulary active around the tribe. However he wasn't seen well because of his methods that were argued by other NightWings, especially Gemini's followers. Xangor was considered to be a bad dragon, though on his perspective he was just doing very good for the tribe. Opal has visited the church to pray Astral. Disgusting. However something has happened. Opal clearly looked distubed after visiting the church. Maybe she was learning that praying Astral was worthless and frustrating. That Goddess could give you the useless humilty, but not power, magic or a concrete help. Opal was apparently alone. Xangor cunning mind was already working to bring that dragon to the evil path. He changed his flight direction and headed towards the lonely female. When he was going to approach the ground, he majestically spreaded his wings to perform a imperious landing, perfectly coordinating his paws to have a soft impact on the terrain. His silvery amour contributed to give him a royal and fearsome aspect, traditional of the worst NightWings villains that have tyranically ruled the tribe. Xangor was looking to convince Opal about his superiority towards her that was proving to be weak. And Opal was showing a sign of insecurity. Xangor walked towards her with a cold and determined expression on the snout. He towered over Opal, but not in an arrogant way, rather to convince her that Xangor was destined to become stronger in his self-confidence and proudness, while Opal was destined to become weak and oppressed in her shyness. "Greetings, Opal." Xangor greeted her with a deferential attitude towards another NightWing, but not exactly showing signs of kidness. In his mind Opal was just another dragon that needed to be brought to the evil path. "I see you're... in trouble." He spoke with a disappointed voice, putting emphasis on the word trouble, to state that Opal was weak. "May I help you?" He sincerely asked with a convincing and concerned growl. Xangor was of course sincere. He didn't want to trick her. He was really worried for her and interested to help, but because he was trying to convince Opal about the falsehood of the ideals she was pursuing. Maybe it was the chance he was waiting to bring Opal on his side, or at least to draw her away from Gemini and her ridicolous notions. In the meanwhile Xangor perceived a strange chaotic and magical aura around. He was very tempted to explore it, but his disciplined mind simply estranged those feelings. His gaze focused on Opal instead, his red pulsing eyes were the mirror of the pure evilness that he has inside, in contrast to his impeccable temper and the natural charm of a mysterious, powerful and dark dragon.

When Opal heard a voice, she instantly lowered her ears, spinning around to see who it was, and lowering her body into a submissive posture to make her look smaller. She normally didn't do this, but Opal didn't like Xangor. Once or twice, Opal had been to the meetings her cousin, Gemini, took her to. When she was there, she'd always stay close to Gemini, averting her gaze from much of the company. She found that the three leaders of the other sub categories..... Xangor, Tenebris, and Zephris (someone I made up. Opal will kill him when she gets her memories back and replace him ), were... strange. She wasn't sure why, but she felt uncomfortable around them. She knew that they were there to prevent wars, but still.... why Gemini trusted a dragon as untrustworthy as Zephris, Opal had absolutely no idea.

As she turned to see Xangor, she averted her gaze, and said, "O-o-o-oh. H-hi Xangor. N-no, there's n-nothing wrong w-with me...." but as Xangor distracted her, Opal suddenly let out an agonizing screech of pain, leaping onto her hindlegs and flailing her arms around, before she collapsed, foaming at the mouth, her eyes wide in terror as the voice took over again.

You shouldn't have underestimated me, Nightflare. Always keep your guard up. Never surrender, you miserable pile of dragon dung!

Opal could feel memories flow into her mind, memories that made no sense to her. It felt as if another conscious entirely was taking over her. Was it the voice. Eventually, Opal lost consciousness. However, only her mind did. Her body, however, was taken over by a different consciousness. Nightflare.

Xangor felt the pleasure rising as Opal was submitting to him. He was getting the respect and obedience from what he considered a inferior being. However Xangor knew that Opal, despite being shy and insecure, was considered a powerful dragon. Xangor intended to develop the potential wasted by Opal. If she would focus her efforts in search of power instead of humilty, Opal would really become one of the strongest Nightwings around. Xangor opened his jaw to answer Opal, but was interrupted by a rather unusual scene. Opal remained all of sudden terrified, at the point to scream. Xangor was surprised at the scene and he was dazed, but a moment later he returned to his coldness and indifference. He understood what was going on, although he didn't have concrete proof. Opal was showing signs of insanity, typical of some Nightwings. Was she possessed by a demon? Xangor didn't care about that much. His interest was to use that information at his advantage and add it to the repertoire of falsehoods about Gemini's figure. Xangor was gathering devastating evidence to accuse Gemini about favoritism in the current leadership: among Gemini's followers there were weak dragons, like Twilight and Opal. Relatives of Gemini. Some of these relatives were even showing signs of insanity, so they were also untrustworthy. A evil growl printed on his snout as he thought how to spread the news and give birth to discontent inside the tribe. He stepped back, taking a safe distance from the unconscious body of Opal with a firm step. Opal was so weak that she wasn't able to control herself, so she doesn't deserve any consideration. Anyway Opal has refused his help. Though Xangor was about to leave, his senses were on extreme alert. He was taking a safe distance from Opal to be sure to not receive an attack on the shoulders. If Opal would shown other signs of madness, attacking him, Xangor was ready to silence her the hard way.

Moon melded into the nearest shadow, and jumped from tree shadow to tree shadow, until she reached where Opal had stopped.
And Xangor had appeared. She remained within the shadow to watch the two carefully, particularly Opal. She had heard rumors about what had happened to NighFlare, and she was wondering if they were true.
A sudden scream tore her from her thoughts, and she looked at Opal, who was the source, and was now unconscious. Mon whimpered and her gaze swung to Xangor, who looked like he could honestly not have cared less about the unconscious dragon as he stepped away.
Moon was still wondering. Her own alter-ego didn't have a change like that, but this sudden bout of worry looked like it couldn't be anything else. She wondered if she should help the dragon, but there wasn't much she could do. She was a tracker. A tracker with a serious case of being bi-polar, and submissive tendencies. She resigned herself to watch the dragon and protect her should something attempt to harm her, but nothing more.

Suddenly, Opal's eyes shot open, bloodshot and wild, and she lunged forward, snapping at Xangor, snarling and foaming at the mouth. She shook her head back and forth, roaring and spitting, as if Opal's conscious had been destroyed altogether, replaced by a mindless beast, with no intelligent intentions, other than to destroy. It whipped its head from side to side, roaring and mindlessly flailing its head and tail around. It didn't even seem to know what it was doing here. It looked as if Opal had gone completely mad, replaced by no intelligent conscious. Just a demon that wanted to devour everything in its path. Suddenly, Opal threw her head back, letting out a cackling scream as blood began to drip from her eyes and mouth, as if she had cut herself from the inside. This voice was nothing like Opal's timid and sane voice. It was menacing, persuasive, and downright demonic. It ran just about as smooth as a fight between a FireWing and an IceWing. It was raged, and awful just to listen to, as she spoke, the foam grew a light crimson color, and made it look as if she were spitting blood. "I AM NIGHTFLARE! You will not contain me, Gemini! I will tear out your throat and eat it in front of you! All NightWings will bow before me! You cannot keep me contained forever, you miserable scum!" she shouted in a mad frenzy, whipping her head back and forth as she laughed like a psychotic sociopath. Her eyes had changed color, from purple to red, and she was now glaring over at Xangor. A bright purple aura had surrounded Nightflare, radiating with power. The more Xangor stared at her, the more her faint ring of insanity infected his mind. Surely her outburst must have attracted every single NightWing within two or three miles of here. And yes, that would include the knowledge hungry Tenebris.

“Well isn’t this just certainly marvelous”, the words notified Tenebris’s presence as he strode into view revealing himself once Opal, now Nightflare cried out. Purposely he stood a few meters behind Xangor, in his arrogance his stance was full of pride and dignity as if he was preparing for the encounter itself. Ever domineering and forceful his cold shrewd eyes narrowed as they locked upon Nightflare, still maintaining his distance behind Xangor (He didn’t know the Dragon well, but he knew of him and his previous Guardian status, and despite his arrogant words Tenebris was no fool to think he could ever stand a change in anything but a battle of wits against Nightflare) as a means of protection to himself
His well cultured voice voice was raspy as words left his maw the second time “Its such a delight that I can see the splendor of our Queens true Cousin, this one unlike Opal isn’t consumed by the nepotism of Gemini are you?”. Shifting the weight of his body giving a mock bow in formalities of acknowledgement as he manoeuvred himself around until he stood on his side, his tail coiling behind him against the floor, all the while ensuring Xangor remains as a barrier. Tenebris’s facial expression was ever solemn and emotionless as his curiosity flooded his mind. This Dragon before him, no creature brought unrest and could of toppled the NightWing Tribe as it now stands but none the less she is interesting, yes, very interesting, hiding away in the subconscious of Opal, its a wonder how far our own insanity can fall.

Moon whimpered from inside the shadow at the sudden outburst. So the rumors she had heard were true. And she didn't like it. She wanted to turn in the shadow and run to tell the tribe. Run and hope someone could stop the dragoness. Run to keep her own alter-ego in check.
But she remained rooted in her shadow, watching as Tenebris egged the alter-ego on, and Moon wondered if it faded away, or simply stayed. Hers faded when there was nothing left to tear apart. How did this one go back to its place? Or did it?

Xangor was about to turn around and leave Opal alone. However, when Opal's eyes turned into blood, he quickly reacted. With a silent and swift jump he backed away enough to avoid her claws and fangs. So Xangor was right. Opal was a demon, with no doubts. It was the only information he needed to know. Xangor didn't care much about NightFlare's speech. He was looking forward to rush to the palace and do a open denounce. He had overwhelming evidence to ask for the removal of Gemini as a leader. However he needed to survive this duel first. Facing a demon wasn't a trivial matter. Xangor kept his guard up, his frontal claws ready to clash against the opponent. He was wearing his silvery armour, fortunately, so he could face this duel without suffering too much damage. Xangor was going to fight at full force, as he would do with every enemy that was worthy of his cruelty in battle. Xangor felt the presence of another Nightwing. His attentive ear had caught up the step of another dragon. Reinforcements. On his face seemed to print a satisfied smile, but soon turned into a grimace. The other Nightwing, instead of participating in the battle, started a convoluted speech, stuffed with eloquent words. Xangor simply dismissed Tenebris instantly, moving away from the other dragon. He didn't want to be distracted by the ravings of an alleged aristocrat. So he appropriately ignored Tenebris, focusing all his attention on his opponent: NightFlare. His eyes were scanning NightFlare's movements, trying to guess her next move. He remained silent, his mind elaborating strategies of strategies to deal with the enemy. Xangor suddenly felt a presence invading his mind. The energy was coming from the other dragon. Xangor faltered and seemed to fall on the ground, victim of the insanity. However his mind reacted promptly. Xangor put order among his thoughts, eliminating extraneous traces. He lifted his tail to regain his posture while he balanced his weight between the two wings. Xangor drew himself up to his full height, dominant and majestic. A fierce, devilish but controlled growl took shape on his snout. His red eyes shone with a blinding flash, investing NightFlare of a energy that appeared disciplined and powerful. This energy attempted to bring order among the chaotic thoughts of NightFlare. A energy that was evil and determined: the desire to defend his mind and even try to subdue the demon at psychological level. Xangor wanted to make it clear that he was going to be ruthless with her, showing no mercy. He wanted to beat her both physically and mentally. Xangor was determined to slay the vile beast, but with no care of the innocent life of Opal that was behind that. Gemini's decision to lock the demon has been dangerous for the tribe's safety. Xangor prepared for the worst, aware that NightFlare would fight with equal cruelty.

Nightflare let out a hideous roar, lunging for Xangor's throat without any preparation. She had obviously been devoured by insanity. She completely ignored Tenebris' arrival, as well. He was not the one closest to her, and therefore held no threat. As Nightflare launched herself at Xangor, a powerful purple aura surrounded her, illuminating her entire body. This was a complicated blinding spell that she had learned when she was still Nightflare. Even though she had no sense of strategy or cunning with the insanity being a plague to her mind, she could still access this power. Hopefully, the spell would momentarily blind Xangor so she could rake a long scar across his stomach while he wasn't looking.

Moon's eyes widened as the dragoness suddenly lunged, and she jumped from the shadow of the tree, taking the shadow of the nearby ones, and forming a barrier in an attempt to halt the dragoness in her path. She backed up, she didn't want to get involved in this. She just wanted everyone to get out with their throats intact. She didn't want a fight. She took more Shadows from around her, and added strength to the dark barrier. She stepped back again, holding her wings out to the side to hold the barrier up. She looked over at the others. "Should we warn the others?" She asked quietly.
