Something's Missing..... (NightWings)

The soft, melodious sound of claws scraping against the beautiful onyx floor echoed throughout the cathedral, the ominous shadows of a variety of figures, formed from painted glass, danced on the carved mineral, like ghosts at a forbidding soiree. Something evil radiated from within this great palace of worship, something that could not enter. It lingered outside, looking rueful as it watched its oblivious master enter the halls of god's light. This evil was sickening, foul, and demonic, but yet all dragons had it inside them, just thriving to emerge. This evil had many names: Gluttony, Envy, Lust, Greed, Wrath, Pride, Sloth, Hate, Rage, Vengeance, Malice, and so on. To most people, this sin was simply referred to as "insanity". The wonder of this sin was that no one ever knew they had it, and even if they did, they denied it profoundly, insisting they were alright. No one could escape the grasp of insanity.... unless you stepped into the heavenly light, otherwise known as a church.

A black figure emerged from the darkness of the quartz arches, stepping with royal ignorance, and landing each step with the dignity and softness any member of the royal family should. She held her head high, but only because no other dragon was there. Even after losing her memory, the cousin to the queen, Opal Flare, was still as persuasive and alluring as always. She approached the alter to which they would pay their respects with dignity and royal arrogance. When she was about half a meter away, she stopped, stretching her left front leg outwards, and moving her body into a bowing position. After this, she picked her self up, and bowed her head, closing her eyes. Then she recited her prayer.

"O' goddess and savior, Astral of the Heavens, please help us to wash away our sins, so that we may be blessed with your eternal love. Ignite the blissful fire of redemption in our young, so they may do no wrong. May all who have strayed from your everlasting light redeem their sins, and join you once again in the afterlife. And when our soldiers fall in battle, may they be greeted by your kindness, for you are our creator, and we will never stray. Please accept my most humble gift as a way of thanks, for our life and happiness."

After this most noble speech, Opal spun her head to the left side of her, taking out a Goldenrod flower and a pound of gold to place in the alter as an offering. She approached most humble, placing the two items in with the most delicacy she could manage. She then quickly retreated two meters, bowing her head, and humming low to herself as she closed her eyes, praying.

Xangor remained concentrated on his target, looking for a weak spot, without being influenced by the signs of insanity shown by his opponent. He prepared to counter NightFlare's assault. A purple mist took form in the air. The enemy was using a spell of blindness. Xangor, being deprived of the sight, channeled his conscience on the ears, focusing on the rumours. It wasn't difficult to hear the direction of the attack, as NightFlare didn't seem to have any strategy. Xangor rose his frontal claws, shielding his stomach. Xangor was ready to clash, but a dark barrier protected him. The attack from NightFlare was stopped by someone else. Xangor noticed the presence of an ally. Finally reinforcements. He glanced at MoonShade. "No." He rejected her suggestion to warn the others. "We must fight and slay this beast before it can claim victims." His voice was determined and convinced, attempting to persuade the others about the need to kill the monster and promote the tribe's safety inspite of a innocent life, Opal.

Tenebris was taken back from his inner thoughts as reality seemed to bolster itself around him. Nightflares movements were too fast and unexpected, despite being behind Xangor he raises his left paw, tucking it into his chest as a reaction to block an attack as he was caught off guard even though he was out of any immediate danger. As the barrier was formed from MoonShade, her words rang through his head forcing him to regain his composure as quickly as his mind would allow, his facial expression remained stern after the brief moment of shock and insecurity, his words left his mouth sharp and hoarse after they registered what MoonShade has just said before calling out in agreement with Xangor “Others cannot know of this, if they did it could result in the downfall of Genimi’s regime, there would be civil uproar!”, he took his stance once more firmly and defiant as he came to the side of Xangor before speaking lower and more to his usual smooth elegant voice “We cannot kill her either… After the sudden return of the Queens Cousin, her death would result is moral weakness throughout the whole Tribe”. Tenebris then glared at the barrier now in front of him with the raging Nightflare behind it, this will take a far more delicate touch.

Moon couldn't help but whimper slightly at their replies. She wasn't a coward, but she was scared. She didn't like fighting, and she was scared that-fueled by NightFlare's insanity aura and the fighter-her own alter-ego would break out. She shook her head in attempt to clear it. Then we better wrap this up quick. She said silently, and allowed a few projectiles to fly from the shield towards the enraged dragon in an attempt to make her back up and away from them. She looked at the other dragons. "Want me to drop the shield?" She asked.

Nightflare let out a roar of rage, and suddenly, an uproar of black tentacles emerged from the ground, coiling around Moonshade's ankle, and slowly making their way up her leg. Night's pupils began to fade, only to reveal red, the same crimson color that leaked from her eyes in an almost demonic show. This wasn't actually happening, though. Mixed with the inner demon inside Moonshade, it was actually only Nightflare's insanity. Moonshade was more vulnerable to this insanity. Xangor and Tenebris didn't witness this atrocity, since they were much more level then Moonshade was. While this display of insanity took over Moonshade, Nightflare raised her head, a purple ball of energy forming in her mouth, before she threw her head in the direction of Tenebris, Moonshade, and Xangor, regardless of the shield. Perhaps the insanity in Moonshade would cause her to lower the shield......

Moon shrieked loudly as something cold and dark began its way up her leg, and she looked down at the tentacle crawling up her leg, and tightening around her ankle, she glared at it for a moment, expecting a stray shadow her alter-ego sometimes got a hold of, and it didn't obey. She shook her head, trying to clear it. Tenebris and Xangor didn't seem to see it, but it was so real. She could feel it tighten around her scales, and she could see it. It tightened again, and she shrieked rearing back and trying to dislodge it it. Her large wings flapped as she tried to give herself more push to dislodge it, and the shield visibly wavered, she shrieked again as it cracked and shattered when the orb it it, and she tumbled back onto her back, and the tentacle let go, but the shield was down, and MoonShade was fighting back her own inner-demon, which had been pushed forward by the sudden tentacle,and then NightFlare's insanity aura. She couldn't have put the shield back up if she tried.

Xangor didn't agree with Temebris points. His interest was to first kill the beast and assure the tribe's safety, then to spread the news about Opal to demote Gemini from her position and possibily take her place. With the right planning and the proper use of the law, it was possible to avoid a civil war. If neither the leader was able to contain a demon like NightFlare, so a merciful death was the only way to solve the situation. Xangor kept his thoughts for himself, taciturn, not revealing his intention to slaughter the demon. If Xangor would kill the demon, it was for personal defense.

Xangor hoped the three of them were able to slay the beast. He was wrong. The aristocrat didn't seem to have any combat skills. Moonshade was instead doing a good work with her dark barrier. She was practical. However the situation was turning into worse. Moonshade seemed struggling with herself now, like she was having a internal conflict. Xangor understood that NightFlare's insanity was reaching the vulnerable Moonshade. Xangor realized it would have been better to send away Moonshade to warn the others, instead of counting on her help in battle. The black barrier was also gone, destroyed by a purple sphere. Xangor took action and slashes the tentacles with his claws to free Moon. Then Xangor shielded Moonshade, looking at NightFlare. His red eyes flashed again, commanding discipline and order around him, contrasting the traces of insanity generated by Night. So Moonshade would take control of herself again. Xangor severely spoke to her. "You're useless here. Run and call reinforcements. We need them." He regarded the comrade for being so vulnerable to insanity, while pushing MoonShade to be useful in some way. NightFlare looked to be too powerful to be beaten without reporting several damage. So other allies were welcomed. Xangor decided to regard also Tenebris for his indifference. "If you're good only at using your tongue, better you go with the other dragon." He suggested with a disdainful growl, seeing in Tenebris a useless comrade for now. In the meanwhile Xangor prepared to clash against NightFlare another time. His red eyes were full of hate towards a beast that was vile and dishonourable in his opinion.

Tenebris’s gaze darted towards MoonShade as she began to panic at an unseen foe or force Its spreading already… Weak minds tend to fall. The situation was spiralling out of control and despite his words Tenebris found his muscles contracting in the slightest of fears, yet his visage was ever arrogant and fierce as he was attempting to regain his bearings. MoonShade would succumb to her own insanity shortly and Xangor wasn't a match for such a beast in full frontal conflict with NightFlare, possibilities ran through his mind, I have to maintain this position… But he couldn't deny that MoonShade has to be removed from the environment and quickly otherwise they may face two enemies like a pandemic disease. As the shield fell Tenebris was caught off guard as the sphere of energy came crashing into his side, falling onto his stomach with a grunt of pain, he released a small animalistic growl as Xangor gave him the order to go with MoonShade “I will not falter, not now” his words were smooth and well calculated despite his pain.
Lying on his stomach he placed his own clawed right paw on his own neck, he appeared to mutter something under his breath and then began to give a slight cough as a reflex as if his airwaves had suddenly closed in upon themselves, although that wasn't the case and after a few brief seconds of choking like actions his maw gaped wide. A thick eerie black smog appeared to emerge from his mouth, appearing like tar in essence he raised his right paw slightly in the air as the black mist began to hover around it. The black thick fog was known as the cruses Tenebris inflicts upon his victims, usually he used his sphere of influence on those who already were in slumber, activities and twisting their subconscious to his benefit, he extending his paw as the thick black substance rushed towards Nightflare
NightFlare and Opal having a strong subconscious to the state of split personalities and entities he hoped that even in the waking world her over productive mind would twist to the curse, giving Opal a fighting chance to regain consciousness over her body in the internal battle against Nightflare, Tenebris hoped that Opal could take this advantage and use this bolster on internal benefit to seize control of her mind and gain dominance for the moment, the curse being manipulated to her benefit to force Opal back in control.

Opal let out a screech of agony, generating another ball of purple plasma, and hurtling it towards the three dragons. She then lunged forward, gripping Moonshade's shoulders, and pulling the numb Dragoness face to face with her. Opal's eyes than begin to glow.

Moon managed to pick up the pieces of her self-control and crudely and quickly put them together and staggered to shaky feet, offering Xangor a grateful look. She almost immediately flinched at his harsh words, though she knew them to be true. He was right. NightFlare's insane influence was sending her over the edge faster than she could keep control, and-after attempting to block a second orb with a weak shield-turned to run and get help. A paw clamped down on her tail, and she whirled, yelping as Nighflare lunged at her, and claws hooked into the darker dragoness's scales and yanked her closer. Moon scrabbled desperately at the larger dragoness with her claws, but physical strength was not her strong suit. She swept her wings up and around her, attempting to gather the shadows and protect herself, when the other dragon's eyes began to glow, and Moon accidentally made eye contact. She whimpered and struggled to pull her gaze away, and found herself unable. Her wings dropped limply to her sides, and any attempt at freedom stopped as her blue eyes glazed over with red, and a snarl crossed her face.

Opal let out a scream, and snarled at Moon "you pathetic creature! You will follow my every whim, and do as I say!"

Many things were happening. Xangor's mind couldn't do appropriate calculations. He soon realized he was losing control of the situation. NightFlare was fighting so fiercely and so rapidly that it was very hard to elaborate a decent counterattack. Xangor took notice of Tenebris falling down. The aristocrat was going to pay for his impudence. A sadistic smile formed on Xangor's snout. He felt satisfied. That idiot deserved to be punished for being useless. However the aristocrat seemed to finally do something. Xangor could see a black fog forming in the air. He didn't have time to understand the fog's nature. NightFlare was already breathing another purple sphere. Xangor was starting to be pissed off. He was only defending himself from the demon, without attacking. Xangor covered his body with his wings to shield against the sphere. A dark barrier, generated by Moonshade, sensibly weakened the purple sphere. Moonshade was brave. But she lacked discipline. When Xangor received the impact, he growled in pain. The sphere was painful, but the armour has luckily reduced the damage. He stumbled back a few steps in recoil, his guard was temporarily open. His chest was vulnerable. However NightFlare didn't took advantage of this, but she lunged at Moonshade, probably attempting to mentally subdue her. NightFlare looked distracted. Xangor finally saw his chance to react. He slightly opened his jaw to whisper some arcane words between his fangs. He was summoning a shadow spell. A creepy and shadowy clawed hand was taking form out of sight from NightFlare. This would look as a common shadow attack. In truth the spell was different. Xangor would be able to summon a complete dark beast. However he was only summoning the hand.

You'll die first. Xangor thought in response with a smirk. Xangor had all the interest to kill her. He would gain national trust to have defeated a demon. Then he would move accusations to Gemini of demonic followers. Xangor was legitimated to kill the demon. He was defending hmself and others afterall. The innocent life of Opal could be sacrificed. Xangor whispered a few other words to instruct the shadowy hand. The clawed hand took action: it sneaked behind NightFlare and tried to slash her neck. The claws were indeed long and sharp knives, long enough to deliver a deadly and precise blow. Xangor hoped this attempt of murder would succeed.

The manifestation of a demon was taking the attention of other NightWings around. Soon some help would arrive. (it is just a background, with the big mess happening )

Opal suddenly erupted into a hissing fit, throwing herself off Moon and running off in a random direction, shouting pointless gibberish along the way. She completely ignored the forming demon, throwing her head back as she threw countless amounts of plasma energy at the different dragons, innocent citizens, not trained warriors. Opal than let out a screech and threw herself at someone, biting them. The dragon let out a howl and tried to fight back as Opal clung to them like a snake, her eyes wild like some untamed, mad beast. The dragon let out a screech as he was suddenly engulfed in purple flames, and Opal ran off to another dragon. She didn't seem to have any recognizable pattern in her attacks or movements. Everything seemed to be random, as if she had just lost her conscious altogether.

Suddenly,Opal dropped limp, and a foamy substance began to ooze form her mouth. It was pitch black, mixed in with blood and an unknown purple substance. Opal began to bleed from her eyes as well, and the skin in between her claws began to ooze crimson. She began flailing and shaking uncontrollably, and she began to chant, her eyes whipping back and forth between dragons. The chant was quick, and sounded almost like pointless muttering gibberish. Then, once again, and completely without warning, Opal leaped up and ran off.

She continued to run until she had disappeared from sight. If any dragon had been foolish enough to follow a mad demon, than they were welcome to try. But seeing as how wild she had been before, tripping out and being completely unpredictable, it would be difficult to track her based on logic.

Gemini had left randomly in the middle, and was out hunting in a nearby forest, when a dangerous presence was making itself known. Whipping around to stare at the direction it was coming from, her eyes narrowed. One of the prescience, was definitely the summoning of a demon. Gemini knew this because she herself was also very skilled in the dark arts, and she WAS a half-demon herself, too. The other... was something much more dangerous. Almost like a second mind was trying to take over the first.

The NightWing queen raced towards the temple/palace (I think that's where you are?) and arrived just in time to see Opal run off. She hissed a curse under her breath, but then turned to stare at Xangor, who was currently in the process of summoning a demon. She quickly muttered the countercurse of demon summoning, and the shadow hand immediately sunk back into the ground. She assumed her demon form (look in bio to see what it looks like), her four eyes glowing a bright blue, and turned tail to race after Opal.

Nightflare slowly awoke from when she had blacked out in the middle of the forest. Shaking her head, she blinked, and narrowed her eyes. Foolish, pathetic dragons. When would they learn? Nightflare chuckled to herself. It was almost funny to watch the dragons squable about, unable to comprehend her power. Sighing, now that that nuisance Opal was out of the way, Night could focus on her main goal: Spreading her gift of insanity throughout the NightWing kingdom. At least that Opal had done one thing to help Night with her conquest. The dragons of the kingdom trusted Opal. She had been in that pathetic state for over five years. Long enough to sooth unease about the civil war. Night knew everything Opal had seen, which made things easier for the demoness time wise, plus, she wouldn't draw suspicions, because saying you got amnesia can only take you so far back. Brushing off the dust, Night heard something coming her way, and turned to see Gemini emerge from the darkness. What a delightful surprise. To be woken up by her oh so beloved cousin. It appeared her cousin was in her demon form. This would make things interesting.

Night had always been a good actress, so when she saw Gemini, she assumed the role of Opal, a defenseless, innocent dragoness, and mewed, looking at Gemini with wide eyes. Night had no sense of humility, nor did she have a sense of pride. All was fair game if the outcome was what she ultimately wanted. A bit of dignity loss was just a simple price to pay on the conquest to power.

"W-who are y-you? W-where's m-my cousin G-Gemini?" said Nightflare, pretending not to recognize Gemini's demon form. To Night's knowledge, Opal had never seen Gemini's demon form, for the demon form ran the risk of triggering her old memories. That was pointless now, considering Night had taken over now.

The activity was overwhelming, and Tenebris felt anarchy’s cold grasp, any control throughout the situation was quickly faltering. As Nightflare continued her onslaught and shot forth another purple plasma attack, Tenebris instinctively raised his wings, although the truth was if it hit it would of charred his wings and no doubt crippled him, with what strength he could muster he rolled out of the way, wincing as his cracked ribs shot shocks of pain throughout him. His eerie blue metallic eyes opened wide as he heard NightFlares shriek as she went for Moonshade, he released an animalistic growl under his breath and slowly stood up to his feet, trying to regain what composure of his remained, he began chanting as he raised his right talons, each claw being a dim diluted dark stain of ink from his Scholar occupation, although his attention was brought towards Xangor as he released his shadowist claw. Tenebris bit his tongue and stopped himself, he’d allow Xangor to move as he continued to re-stablish his posture, his face turning from shock back to his usual apathetic expression as his calculating eyes watched Xangor, perhaps even more then Nightflare and Moonshade.
As Xangors spell was accomplished and NightFlare began hissing esoterically and began to dart off in the distance, he watched silently as she went off, his eyes scrutinising her as the distance grew. Before Tenebris could take several steps forward his attention was brought to a figure behind them, Gemini. He didn’t greet his sovereign with any formalities, only a sadistic grin be it she noticed it or not. At Gemini’s Demon form bursting free, he reared up on his hind legs, crashing his wings together he growled in disgust, he didn’t voice his opinion but his eyes carried his hate and malice, his mouth finally opened as he sent a quick glance to Xangor “Your Majesty… If you excuse me, I imagine you will want to deal with this matter yourself. Why you do such, I have a civil duty to inform our citizens, they’ll be distraught to have lost one of the members of the royal family believe me, but the danger persists. Thus, if you would excuse me”. He took a final look to see NightFlare or rather Opal, his grin never faltering as he took several steps back, the odd occasional wince breaking through his visage due to his cracked ribs.

Xangor was very close to slaughter the demon. The shadowy hand would manage to kill its target. A satisfied smile printed on his snout, but it soon turned into rage. The spell was stopped because of Gemini's intervention. Xangor stared back at Gemini, a questioning look about her action. You're a complete fool. He thought, feeling angry towards Gemini. What on the hell are you allowing a vicious demon to live? Xangor was disgusted when he saw Gemini switching to her demon's form. He was truly suspecting that Gemini was indeed allied with demons, and she was secretely supporting them. NightFlare was now freely roaming around, starting to harm random dragons. She was disrupting order. Xangor attempted to stop NightFlare, but he failed. Her movements were unpredictable. Admittedly, he felt contented about this. Xangor could tell around that he tried to defeat the demon, but Gemini stopped him, with the consequence of wounded innocents. Xangor followed the other dragons to chase the demon. They soon reached their target, but it appeared that Opal took control of NightFlare again. Anyway, the situation was back to normality. Not exactly. There were wounded dragons around. Xangor, seeing a chance to improve his social position, moved towards one of the injured dragons. "I'm going to help you" Xangor reassured the other NightWing. He lied down next to the NightWing's body to inspect the wound. He took off his helmet with his paws and then lowered his snout to lick the injures and provide a temporary medication. Healers should arrive soon. Xangor was strangely acting kind towards someone. However there was a egotistical motive. Xangor needed to build a positive reputation and to be well seen from the tribe. Helping a wounded dragon was considered to be a honourable action from the community. Xangor received grateful looks from the injured NightWing. Xangor answered with a nod, conveniently accepting the thanks. A healer finally arrived. Xangor could now give Gemini a serious and concerned look. "Gemini, why have you stopped the shadowy hand?" He questioned with excitement inside, because he had devastating evidence about Gemini's wrongdoing. "I was close to defeat the demon. Because of your action, innocents are wounded now. Luckily, we don't have deaths." He glanced at the others, hopefully to gain agreements. Xangor went quiet, waiting a explanation from the tribe's leader. This was only the start of Xangor's accusations. A long list of accusations. He glanced at the aristocrat, that was unknownigly supporting Xangor's cause. Maybe that aristocrat was good, because of the excellent use of word. They had the same hate towards demons.

Gemini shrank back into her normal form, and casted a sideways glance to Xangor. "This is my fight, and my fight alone," she said simply. "I was the one who let her get out of control. I should be the one to subdue her." She stared at the NightWing. "Also, I hope you understand that the shadow claw is dangerous." She closed her eyes, then opened them. "If you had attacked, you would have hurt Moonshade in the process. She was standing near Opal at the time. You would have hit her, too. It is my duty as Queen to protect my dragons to the best of my ability. You should know that, Xangor, as one of my advisers."

Seeing that Gemini had gone back to her normal form, Night stood up, blinking. Suddenly, Zeprys ran forward, pushing through the crowds of dragons, hissing, "What in the name of Nimbus is going on here? How did this dragon get injured? And why didn't you fools tell me!?" Nightflare's eyes narrowed. Zephrys, leader of one of the sub divisions of the NightWings. He supposedly lead the "chaotic" NightWings, but Nightflare, from what she had seen of it, would hardly call it that. It was just a bunch of idiots trying to look insane to get the attention of the females. Nightflare wanted to sort at his impecable timing, but she needed to remain in character. At least.... for now. Zephrys greeted his queen humbly, before asking one of the dragons what happened. When Zephrys learned of this, he stomped up to Nightflare. Night, still in the role of Opal, crouched down submissively as the angry dragon approached her.

"And you!" he shouted, "This satanic spawn never should have been allowed back into the tribe! You saw what she did to that poor fellow over there! She's a threat to this society!" This was when Nightflare hatched a scheme. Silently, she sent a message to the demon who had given her her strength. She'd need his help if she was to successfully subdue this fool.

It is glad to see you back to your normal self, Nightflare. I will invade his mind and make him attack you, but only this once. Gemini, as strong as she is, cannot detect my interference with his brain if I only do it once. She will get suspicious if I do it on the same dragon twice.

Suddenly, Zephrys lost control of his actions, and he lunged at Nightflare, unsheathing his claws, going in for the kill, much to the other leaders' astonishment. Night's eyes narrowed. Good, Shi had done his work. Now Night had to do hers. With the movement of a snake, Night moved her body in a position that would make it look like the dragon was trying to attack her. Zephrys suddenly threw his head up and shouted, "YOU FOOL! YOU KNOW ABOUT MY PLANS TO KILL GEMINI! I WILL DESTROY YOU!" and again, Zephrys lunged at Nightflare. Night then moved with the speed of a striking cobra, digging her claws into Zephrys' chest, and ripping out the insolent dragon's heart. The dragon, who had seemed like a betrayer to the throne, fell dead.

And on the inside, Night smirked.

(Zephrys is an NPC, and held no real significance other than for Night to do something dramatic like that o3o Shi is a side character, an incredibly powerful demon that I will use for plots involving Nightflare. Gemini can't sense his presence, nor his magic. To all the dragons, including Gemini, what just happened looked like an insane dragon, who had tried to betray the throne, tried to kill an innocent civilian (Nightflare), and Night had defended herself.)

Tenebris still hadn’t removed his presence from the situation, as he walked a few steps behind those now crowding around Opal. He remained with his plastered cheshire cat grin spread across his face as he heard Xangor’s words, an indirect challenge to subordination. After a few moments from the fighting affair, he had now completely regained his stature and tried to look as dignified and as elegant as before he arrived, although his ribs still ensured gasping noises from under his breath escaped his maw. Folding his wings as he looked down at Opal, despite his few feet distance away he mused to himself, his sinister grin never faltering. As Gemini spoke to Xangor with her response he narrowed his calculating gaze at Gemini now baring to look at her given that she changed back to her more simplistic Dragon form. You’re right my Queen… It was you who put the others in this situation, it was you who allowed her to gain control, and now events have been set in motion, the threshold has been crossed. Turning he caught a glimpse of Zephrys and scoffed in disdain and scorn Insufferable idiot. With that Tenebris started to walk away leaving the conversation as Zephrys ran in to speak with Opal, dismissing the whole conversation with a wave of his tail. Tenebris suspected that this wasn’t the end, but surely it might mean the end of someone and it wasn’t about to be him, his tailed coiled behind him, trailing across the floor as he attempted to march off away from the others domineering and respectful as ever apart from the odd wince.

Xangor stood up while listening Gemini's answer, switching back to his prideful posture. He didn't know what to answer at first. Generally, Xangor didn't care about killing possible innocents. There was indeed a risk to hit Moonshade. His mind elaborated an answer, trying to turn Gemini's words against her. "For sure, we had the situation out of hand. We couldn't avoid innocents from being wounded." Xangor told his version of the facts in a neutral aspect. However, being Gemini the tribe's leader, she was the direct responsable of this mess. Gemini had a guilt on her shoulders: she has failed to keep Night, a very dangerous demon, in check. Xangor could use this failure to spread bad word inside the tribe. Another dragon arrived, one of Gemini's Advisors. Xangor took every single information from Zephyrs, learning more about NightFlare. So Opal was in origin a criminal. Everything was clear now. Xangor was going to speak again, but he was interrupted by a sudden outburst of Zephyrs. Another insane dragon. A fierce fight followed. Xangor didn't have time to take action. The shy and weak Opal won, surprisingly, over a opponent that was stronger. Xangor felt suspiscious about this. He knew something was wrong. Xangor growled in disgust and shock when he saw Opal ripping out Zephyr's heart. Was really Opal that ruthless? Opal's action was typical of a demon. Xangor gave Opal a inquiring look before to approach Gemini. He looked into her eyes, his mighty and fearsome body was naturally making Xangor to appear domineering over Gemini. However Xangor lowered his head towards her, in respect of the chain of command. Besides that, he was determined to have influence on Gemini. He spoke again. "Unluckily, we have also got a death." Xangor pointed his snout towards the fallen NightWing. "I believe Zephyrs has gone mad because of his hate towards NightFlare." Xangor was indeed trying to damage Opal's position. His intention was to get rid of a demonic being in a legal way. "I suggest a legal execution for Opal is needed, for the tribe's safety and prevent other needless fights. Opal's demon is too strong to be controlled. Today we have enough proof. " Xangor concluded, a sense of justice in his voice and desire to restore the order inside the NightWings society. In truth, the death of Opal was another step towards power. Xangor would eliminate a possible rival, NightFlare, and have the credits for suggesting an action that would finally put a end to NightFlare's reign of terror.

Some memories were crossing Xangor's mind. Why he has never heard about NightFlare and her demonic activities? The answer arrived in his mind. Tanith has probably hidden Xangor's esistence from NightFlare. The reason was obvious: NightFlare would have easily unleashed Xangor's demonic form.

Moon was about to attack the other dragoness-and the others-when her captor suddenly let out an earsplitting screech and threw her to the side. The shock of the action left Moon disoriented, and the force of the thrown threw her onto her right wing, and she shrieked as one of the bones cracked. The fact that her alter-ego hadn't been in complete control and the sudden burst of pain allowed her to gain control again, and when she opened her eyes, they were the same brilliant blue. She didn't move for a moment, trying to re-orient herself. Opal is actuallly NightFlare. She attacked us. I tried to help. I lost control for a minute. Now I'm back to normal, and my wing is broken. she quickly summarized the events in her head, before dragging a particularly unruly shadow from a nearby tree branch attempted to set the bones in her wing straight with a make-shift cast. She rolled to her feet and lunged into the nearest shadow, before reappearing an instant later next to Xangor from a nearby Shadow. In time to see NightFlare rip out the heart of one of the leaders. Her jaw dropped, and she crouched, only to straighten nervously when no one else made a violent move. She whimpered in confusion. "Why aren't they attacking her? She just killed someone? It finally hit her that-once the action was completed-NightFlare assumed the innocent and fearful role of Opal. Her blue eyes narrowed. Is she honestly back to normal? Or faking? She just killed someone. Opal wouldn't have done that. She reasoned, but said nothing. No need to worry anyone. She looked over as Xangor moved towards Gemini, and caught a few of his words. She sat down and let the shadow retreat to its branch, and she managed to stifle a yelp as the bones in her wing decided they'd had enough of their original position, and fell back into awkward angles, clearly broken. She whimpered quietly to herself, before listening in on the conversations, undecided on her opinion.

Gemini closed her eyes. Another dragon appeared, and she narrowed her eyes. It was Zephyr, one of her advisers. But he seemed.... off, to simply put it. His aura felt different than the last time she said it, but Gemini didn't say a word. She shifted her gaze back to Opal. Even Opal seemed different. Her aura didn't change much, but there was a sinister, almost familiar, air around her. However, she did blink when Zephyr turned to lunge at Opal. She dodged his attack, and clawed his heart out. Gemini felt her stomach lurch at that, and suspicion arose. Opal wasn't like that. She didn't kill, much less rip out another dragon's heart. It couldn't be.... this aura... had to be of Nightflare, Gemini's cousin who tried to kill her multiple times. But.. how? Gemini thought. Wasn't Nightflare gone for good? She glanced at Xangor as he spoke to her. After he finished, she closed her eyes. "I do believe Zephyr has gone mad, do to some... careful meddling. And Opal.... yes, we should have her executed." Her eyes narrowed. "If not, she will reign terror over us and destroy us all. As queen, I cannot allow that."

(Fine. That's the queen's declaration. As good subjects, we must obey. Someone must kill Nightflare. Rip out her heart. She won't even fight back.)

Nightflare raised an eye ridge at Gemini. It was rather impressive Gemini could feel Ship's interference. That was something only a god or a demon could do, and even so only a powerful demon. Then again, Shi, being the god if demons, had made a deal with Krashath. Perhaps that was why she could sense the presence. Or perhaps it had been when she had been speaking phycodelically to Shi. That was more probable than the later. Night wanted to keep the guise of innocent for just a bit longer, when suddenly an idea came to mind. Telling Shi with d would be too risky, so instead she just crouched down, looking up at Gemini with frightened eyes, keeping the guise of Opal.

Shi, in the form of a random NightWing stepped forward. No dragon, except for a Full God, would be able to see through Ship's disguise, an even then it would be difficult. He acted casual, even glaring at Opal and walking over to sit with Moon shade and examine her wounds. Just the average healer, nothing unusual there. But Shi, in disguise as a healer, was carefully eying Gemini.

A dark aura suddenly started to surround the black dragon's paws as he eyed his queen. Opal raised an eye ridge at the dragon who was cleverly hiding behind Gemini, ready to strike. No dragon would be able to sense anything coming from Opal, since t his was all Ship's doing. Suddenly, the dragon leaped forward, a black shadow surrounding his paws.

Opal's eyes widened, and she shouted, "Gemini look out! Opal leaped out of the way, firing a blast of orange energy - an ability of Opal, not Night flare - and hit the rogue dragon. The dragon snarled when it was hit, jumping backwards and shaking their body, before they launched a blast of energy at Opal, burning her and sending her flying. At this point the dragons were aware that this dragon had attempted to attack the queen.
