From the Deep

Norketh woke up on the sea floor, he felt groggy as he slowly remembered where he was. It wasn't an area he was familiar with and he had taken refuge in an abandoned underwater chasm. There wasn't much around that he knew of where he could hide given his large size. Luckily nothing disturbed his slumber during the night and he felt good other than hungry. Norketh yawned and stretched and began to swim. These waters weren't as deep as the open ocean Norketh was used to, stealth was more difficult for him.

Yesterday had been one of the most eventful days for Norketh, he had finally after all these years found other dragons. The first contact went better than he expected, Norketh didn't have to fight or kill any dragons. In fact they all seemed very friendly, they wanted him to be a part of this Sea Wing tribe. Somebody actually wanted him around! It seemed too good to be true. Norketh was well aware appearances could be deceiving, this meeting today could be an ambush for all he knew. If was a trap so be it, it wouldn't be the first time a trap has been spread on him and all who have ambushed Norketh usually didn't survive long after. He would find out soon enough, Norketh was going to meet Shiningwater on the beach, where she would supposedly show him the Seawing kingdom. First he would hunt for breakfast. Unknown to him that something was watching him...

He spent a couple hours hunting, he managed to catch a few sharks and would probably have to go back out to deeper waters to hunt larger prey. For now however he would head to the cove where he landed yesterday to wait on his guide. The water erupted as usual as Norketh broke the surface, the massive dragon soon made landfall and lay down on the shore and waited. He growled to himself impatiently.

Atlantis was shocked at the scene. There were a lot of megalodons attacking the kingdom. Norketh was already in close-combat, ferociously snapping at the huge sharks. Atlas was going to help Norketh, but he realized the water was flooding through the broken walls. Korramyr luckily managed to temporarily stop the water. Atlas could now focus his attention on the incoming enemies. He quickly swam towards the fish people. He couldn't let them to approach the kingdom or they were going to kill a lot of harmless water creatures. He stopped in front of the enemies, drawing them towards him. He flapped both his wings, swallowing and trapping most of the enemies inside a intense and large whirpool. He then moved the huge vortex against sharp rocks, annihilating the enemies in a pool of blood. This attack should drastically reduce their number or at least give Norketh the chance to easily destroy the enemies. Atlas briefly looked around. It was going to be a carnage and the seadragon didn't like to kill so many people. He sighed hoping the enemies would now decide for a retreat.

Shine yelped as Norketh slammed through a nearby wall, then began to attack the sharks and....other things....viciously. Atlantis soon followed. Shine hung back from the fighting, we was small and a healer; fairly useless in a huge fight, through she was effective in a one-on-one fight. But not in anything like this. So she hung back, then turned to Korramyr, noticing how much he was straining to hole the water back. "What can I do?" She called, not wanting to distract him, but needing to help.

Norketh was unaware of what trans-passed behind him, he was busy fighting for his life. One of the megalodons had bitten hard into the top of Norketh's wing. Norketh growled in pain as he did a barrel roll to shake off the shark. The second Megalodon who rammed his back was turning around to come in for another bite, the third was stunned on the sea floor thanks to Norketh's tail. The leviathan dragon grabbed one of his attackers by the tail and used it as a bat against the oncoming Meg, the force of the hit killed the second Meg. As Norketh tore the other shark to pieces more blood swarmed around. The giant blue dragon turned his attention to the stunned shark on the sea floor who was beginning to stir again. Norketh raised his foot and slammed it down, crushing the final Megalodon. Norketh roared victory roar, he was swimming in a haze of blood.

He saw that many of the Deep ones were dead, Atlantis had apparently taken most of them out. Norketh was impressed, he was happy he wasn't the only dragon here who could fight. He would have to ask Atlantis about it later. He could see another wave of deep ones approaching the opposite side of the city. This time there were more of them and with them, an even bigger Megalodon, this one a little bigger than Norketh himself. The giant fish swam around the city destroying a few of the buildings in his wake. It was making a b-line for Norketh as the army started to attack some to the dragons in the city. Norketh raced towards his foe claws and jaws ready. The Megalodon let out a shrill screech as Norketh released a loud, savage, bestial roar that shook the waters themselves.

The monsters started to clash.

"G... Get... Get some guards... They can help," he strained out between gritted teeth, his legs shaking slightly. He was gonna collapse soon, which would obviously be very bad given the circumstances.

The situation was very catastrophic. The first group of enemies was defeated, but another one managed to invade the city from the opposite side. This time Atlas couldn't use his whirlpool powers. There was the risk to destroy buildings or swallow allies. Atlas looked terrified at the enormous megalodon approaching the city. It was one the biggest creatures he has ever seen in his life. That thing was destroying everything on its passage. It must be stopped. Norketh clashed against the monster, but he couldn't defeat the shark alone. He needed the help of Atlas. The seadragon also realized that Korramyr was almost going to collapse. The King couldn't handle the water flow for a long time. Atlas closed his eyes, starting to ponder. What should he do now? Help Korramyr or Norketh? Atlas wishes to help both of them. Perhaps there was a solution. He swam towards the giant megalodon. He already knew where to strike. Atlas fiercely snapped at the shark's gills, tearing off the flesh with his sharp fangs. The monster roared in pain. This attack should prevent the megalodon from breathing underwater, causing also some serious damage. The megalodon was now very vulnerable to lethal attacks. "Finish the work, I must help Korramyr." He told Norketh before to head back to the palace, hoping to not be too late. He felt tired, the fight was gradually consuming his energies. However he wasn't going to surrender until the last breath. He held the water outside with his paws, adding his magic to Korramyr's powers.

Shine nodded to Korramyr, racing through halls of the Seawing Palace, and ignoring terrified palace-goers as she ran. she finally smashed the door to the guards chambers. They blinked at her in surprise over their poker game. "Come with me." She said between breaths.
One began to argue. "Can't we finish-"
She cut him off with a loud roar. "GET YOUR BUTTS OUT HERE NOW!"
They abruptly threw down their cards, racing after their queen as she retraced her steps. "Got them, Korramyr." She said, happy that Atlas was now helping.
The guards immediately lent their powers to Korramyr and Atlas's aid, and the going was easier.

Korramyr was able to relax a bit now thanks to everyone's assistance. He didn't relax completely seeing as he was the main conduit of magic in the current situation, but he was able to speak much more easily now. "Thanks, Shine," he said, grinning slightly as he nodded to Atlantis. "You too." He surppressed the idea nagging at the back of his head that he'd end up passing out a few promotions to those guards. He still had a task to focus on, and that was keeping that barrier up long enough for builders to construct a more lasting barrier. "Shine, keep a lookout for Norketh. We can't have him coming back through here."

Norketh struggled against the mammoth shark, it was pushing him farther away from the city. His arm was bleeding, from where the shark was biting. Norketh was causing some damage on the megalodon as well with his jaws and claws. When out of nowhere Atlantis came and bit the sharks gills.  The Megalodon screeched in unexpected pain. Norketh roared and took advantage of the aid he had been given. He grabbed the Meg and threw it against one of the rocks. He then rushed on top of it, pinning it with his weight and finishing the fish off. Using his strength Norketh tore the Megalodon in half and more blood filled the water. Putting one foot on top the dead Megalodon and raising to his his full massive height Norketh roared a savage victory roar towards the city.

The invading army stopped in their tracks, realizing their heavy hitters were lost and that the dragons in this city were more than a match for them began to retreat.

Norketh watched as many began to swim away, he collapsed in exhaustion.

Atlantis was channeling his magic through Korramyr to share a huge amount of energy, also aided by the guards. He started to feel tired. He has spent a lot of energies in the fight outside and he was doing a great effort to not collapse. However he wasn't going to stop until he was sure the wall has been repaired or the flood definitively stopped in some way. He wondered if Norketh has managed to defeat the gigantic Megalodon. Atlas hoped that nothing bad has happened to him. Several roars of victory spreaded through the palace, in addition to powerful Norketh's roar. The seadragon happily sighed. That meant the enemies has been defeated once for all.

Shine nodded at Korramyr's words. "I'll go check on him now." She swam out through one of the previously existing doors as Norketh let out a savage roar. She smiled happily and continued towards him. She abruptly stopped swimming when she saw him. He was hurt and Unconscious(?). She quickly rushed over to him, pulling the water-proof herbs from the pocket-dimension slung around her neck and began patching up. Once she would have worried that she didn't have enough herbs to heal him, but she was constantly stocking up now that she had endless space in her bag; though he was going to run her a tad low on many of the herbs.

Norketh's eyes slowly opened up as he felt some strange sensation on his wounds. "What the..." Norketh thought as he slowly raised his gigantic frame up. Looking down he saw Shine she had done something to some of his wounds. What ever she had done they hurt less than they did before. Norketh suddenly remembered that she said she was a healer. The giant dragon turned his head to her and bowed "Thank you.." he muttered to her.

He looked back towards the sea wing kingdom, he could see the destruction the enemies had wrought, some of it was his own fault, he fought too close to the city. These dragons had the decency to bring him in and all he had brought them was death and destruction... His past had followed him here. What desire could they possibly still have for a monster like him? Still he could never let something like this happen to this underwater sanctuary ever again. Even if they wanted him to leave the kingdom today he would protect their borders.

(( I'mma go ahead and start a topic titled "Recovering and Rebuilding" when we're finished here to play out the reconstruction of everything that's been destroyed during the fight if that's okay with you lot. :3 ))

Shine smiled kindly back to Norketh. "It's my job, no biggy. Oh, and stop with the bowing. I hate formalities." She giggled slightly, then turned serious. "You probably shouldn't get into any more fights or try anything too difficult until those heal; or at least until I can stock up again." Her mischievous demeanor returned with the last sentence. She glanced around at the ruined buildings and sighed. "Better get started...This is gonna take a little while."
