Personality as a Hatchling: Stroud has always been aloof and quiet, an observer like his mother. From the beginning, he preferred books and reading over wrestling with his clutchmates. However, as the oldest, he is protective and will jump to his siblings' defense if they need it. He is a dragon of few words, but he often speaks with sarcasm and snark.
Personality as an Adult: Stroud is still a dragon of few words, but that doesn't mean he's not bold. He's a perfectionist who wants to be good at as many things as he can. As such, he spends equal amounts of time studying and combat training. He is quite prideful and often thinks that his decisions are all ultimately for the best. He has a lone wolf attitude and prefers to work alone, rarely accepting help. However, he is still fiercely protective of his family members. As an heir of Tenebris, Stroud is paranoid and wary of those around him- and himself. He is a dragon of his word and is trustworthy.

-Betrayal
-The loss of his family. This is particularly saddening since he or one of his siblings will one day take his parents' place. 
Strengths:
-Stroud has a blade-like tailtip that can be used for slashing and stabbing. It is claw-like since it is able to be filed, sharpened, and can grow back if it's cut.
-He is well-read and wise beyond his years. He is cunning and a master of puzzles and manipulation.
Weaknesses:
-Stroud has a lone wolf attitude. This is largely due to the fact he is an heir to Tenebris. Growing up in the world of politics has taught him that he may be in constant danger. It is possible that others from his own family will seek to dispose of him if he got in their way. Similarly, if he was ever in a position to take Tenebris' place, there may be some who would send assassins after him over some disagreement in policy or values. This lone wolf attitude also stems from his sense of pride and belief that he needs no help to accomplish his goals. This means that Stroud is unlikely to accept help from anyone, but he is quick to help his own family.
-As a hatchling, Stroud is not as physically powered as his siblings. He can hold his own if threatened, but since he spends more time reading than wrestling, he's lacking in combat expertise and strategy.


General Appearance
Height: 7 feet (adult height will be 38 feet)
Scales: Black, gold, and dark gray. Most of his scales are smooth and matte, making them practically invisible. The scales of his underbelly, however, are plated and overlap like armor.
Eyes: Electric blue and lack pupils
Appearance: Stroud has an elegant, regal appearance. He is incredibly slender, having almost a serpentine form if not for his limbs. He is mostly black, covered in matte scales that provide no shine. Golden trim marks his body in simple yet eye-catching shapes. Unlike his black scales, his golden scutes are quite shiny. They are tougher too, providing more armor. His claws and horns are gold, and only about half of his neck is lined with golden webbing. The same webbing lines his shoulders, giving way to his large golden wings. Stroud has a sharp blade-like appendage on his tailtip. It seems more like the material of a claw, as it can be sharpened, filed, and can grow back. He also has a gray face. This parallels with one of his clutchmates, who has a white face. Much like his father, he has opposable thumbs which he uses for grasping.

Skills and Abilities
Normal Abilities:
-Night Vision: Stroud can see in the dark in monochromatic colors.
-Shadowed Camouflage:  Thanks to his dark colors, Stroud can blend in well within darkness and the night sky. He has a bigger advantage in the darkness since most of his scales are matte.
-Sleepy Smoke: Like most NightWings, Stroud can exhale a smoke that can send a dragon to sleep or make them drowsy. However, since he is a baby, the most he can do is make a dragon yawn. He can do this once every four posts.
Special Abilities:
-Dissipate: Stroud can dissolve into shadow for brief moments. He uses this ability to avoid hits and to flee. Once per five posts, he can turn into a shadow. He can not cause harm in this form, but he cannot take any damage. However, it makes him faster(50 mph) since he loses any mass. The duration only lasts one post. In comparison, his normal flight speed is 30 mph. This ability will become more powerful when he is fully grown.
Combat Style: Stroud often tricks his enemy through his ability to turn into shadow. When he does this, he uses his enhanced speed to flee to a safe place. As an adult, he is a balanced combatant with equal smarts and prowess. His blade tail is used as a weapon while he dodges and evades attacks.


Background
History: Stroud was the first hatched from the clutch of Tenebris and Sting. As purebreeds and legitimate hatchlings of the ruling couple, the clutch replaced Zylah and Mephala as heirs apparent.

If his special ability allows him to move faster, then what is his normal speed? And for reference, the max flight speed for a NightWing is 80mph.
