The Blue Horizon (Guryon & Yang)

((Couldn't come up with a better title.))

Yang drifted under the sea's crystal blue surface, her webs flowing in the direction of the current. She examined coral and anemone for any signs of aquatic life that was edible. Of course, being the Tracker Lieutenant it was Yang's duty to search for food to serve the Tribe with, and to direct the hunting and tracking activity within the SeaWings. It was hard work, Yang must admit, but helping her sister, Asailia, and the other Lieutenant, Delphin, was good for the Tribe, however exhausting it may be.

Yang clenched a swordfish in her jaws and arose to the surface. Her head broke out, the sunlight turning her sleek silver scales to an almost pure white. The fish dangled in her jaws, its blood spilling out and tainting the water red. Before the blood could attract sharks, Yang spread her wings and flew up above the water. She circled for a moment before soaring off to a nearby island. The breeze smelled of tropical fruit and salt. It smelled like home. It was comforting.

Yang folded her wings to her sides as she landed on the soft pale-sanded shore of the island. She dropped the swordfish and examined it. It was puny, but it seemed efficient. The SeaWing picked it up and prepared to fly again.

Guryon was in a sad mess. Well two types of sad. 1) He is really sad because his last mate is dead. 2) He is really new to this god stuff. He is fumbling about the SeaWing territory, when he has this sudden urge to bathe in some fire. "HMPH another one of my FireWing urges I see. I must learn to control that side of me." Giuryon sighed. He swam to the surface of the water and broke threw. He watched the droplets of water soar of his wings. Then he spiraled into the air, drying himself. He looked east, west, and south. He had lost his urge now. He was now wondering why he was still above the water. He decided he would fly for a while. He also realized he had gone almost three years without breaking the surface."Dang, I need to get out more." He thought to himself. He flew north and found himself speeding in zigs, zags, spirals, twirls, and flips. He did as many tricks as he knew until he reached an island. He decided to take a rest in the islands middle. So he flew over the island and dive bombed into the ground. He pulled up at the last moment and landed. He cringed at the noise he had made. He got over it and dug a small trench into the ground then laid in it and fell into a small nap.

As Yang spread her wings, the light of the sun catching on them and turning them silver, she heard a sound... Like a huge crash. The SeaWing twisted her head around to where the sound came from. Trees covered whatever was in there.

The Lieutenant, growled, and narrowed her eyes. If it was a threat, she needed to handle it right away.  Yang dropped the swordfish from her jaws unto the sand and buried it quickly. Oh well if it got dirty in the sand. She could just wash it off or catch another fish. Anyway, forget the prey. Time to investigate that sound.

Yang crouched close to the ground and prowled towards the center of the island, where she assumed the sound came from. She didn't even see the trench. She noticed it when she prepared to take another stealthy step and found no sand where earth was supposed to be. Yang blinked, and her jaw dropped open as she saw her semi-god, Guryon, napping in the trench.

Yang shook her head rapidly, wondering if she was hallucinating. But then he was still there. Guryon. It was actually him. But why should Yang be surprised..? Well... Maybe everyone would be surprised if they saw their overlord taking a snooze right in front of their paws. Yeah, let's go with that.

Yang wondered if she should wake him. The SeaWing thought, breathing shallowly and looking at the sky in wonder. She finally decided to wait until he woke up, and speak to him then.

So yeah... She curled up underneath the shade of some trees, and watched her paws and surroundings in wait.

Guryon had a quite nice nap. He woke up to the songs of birds and crickets. He coughed and stood up. He shook himself and licked his face. He chucked/growled at any threat at all. If there was one there. Then he stretched his body so he would have no cramps midflight.

When Yang detected movement, she raised her head and blinked her teal eyes at the direction of the trench. She herself was just about to take a snooze, but excitement and wonder kept her awake as she realized Guryon had finally risen.

Yang leapt to her paws and strode to the trench with a bit of a bounce in her step. She kept her head high for two reasons. One is to respect Guryon in his presence, and the other is to keep in mind that she is the Lieutenant. She didn't want to give the wrong impression of herself.

The SeaWing arrived to the trench and looked down into it at Guryon.

"Slept well?"

GUryon looked up and nodded at her. He instantly recognized Yang as a SW so he felt no threat in her presance. He summoned water under him and lifted himself out of the trench. He left the water in the trench. He turned to Yang and said "Hello there, what is your name? I am Guryon."

Yang knew Guryon's name, but didn't dare to interrupt his introduction. She just tilted her head and nodded. She displayed the slightest smile, and lowered her wings in a respectful position for the semi-god.

"I'm Yang," the SeaWing spoke. "Tracker Lieutenant of the SeaWings. May I ask, what brings you here?"

GUryon thought for a second."Should I give the short answer or the long answer" GUryon decided th short answer. " Urges to come out of he sea." He looked around and saw a couple of trees he could take his claws on. He did so. "What about you?"

"Hunting & tracking," Yang replied. "Just doing my job." As she watched Guryon, she said, "So... You are semi-god blooded, then?"

Guryon stopped at this question and smiled. He turned around and nodded. Then he turned back and started walking away. ”I do not wish to continue talking about my godliness, forget that i am a Semi-God. Treat me like i am a guardian." Guryon slowed down, but kept walking.

Yang paused as Guryon began to walk away. She nodded, but with his back turned, she realized she couldn't see her acknowledgement. Instead, she just said, "Of course."

The SeaWing looked after the... err.. Guardian. Was this him pretty much saying, 'okay, bye, i gtg'? Whatever the reason, Yang had the sneaking suspicion that she upset him, and now felt the urge to speak to him. She bounded up to walk by his side. "So... Um, you have a family?"

Guryon immediately stopped and fell to the ground. He started making sounds that sounded like laughing but then he raised his head. There were tears streaming down his face. ”I dont anymore." Sobbed Guryon. He shoved his face into the ground and continued to cry.

Yang froze. She shivered, and her blood seemed to turn to ice. What had she done?! Her stupid, stupid self. Only made things worse.

"Oh, I- I..." Yang swallowed. "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to..." She laid by Guryon, one wing stretched to lay over his shoulder so she can comfort him.

Guryon looked at Yang and shook his head.”Y-y-y-you didnt do anything... I-i-its my fault. My old mate died... I-i-i-i was in love with her, and there was nothing i could do to stop her death....." Sobbed Guryon. He bit his paw, wincing slightly. Blood started to rush from the bite.”I try to hurt myself every time I cant help something...., for her" said Guryon.

Yang's eyes widened. She rested her paw on Guryon's cut, and gazed in his eyes.

"Your mate wouldn't want you to hurt yourself for her." she murmured, trying to comfort the Guardian.

Guryon looked up at Yang and nodded. ”I know but its the only way i can remember her...” sighed Guryon. He looked up at Yang. ”I was just a guardian when i met her... ((The rest is in here Click!))

Yang sat by Guryon, displaying a tiny frown but sympathy and comfort glowed in her eyes. She coiled her tail around her paws, and rested her wingtip on the Guardian's shoulder. She wondered how it would be like to lose a mate. But then, she may never know because she may never get one.

"I'm sorry. What can I do to help?"

Guryon shook his head wildly. He looked at Yang and smiled sadly. He looked forward and closed his eyes. He opened his eyes and new tears burst out. ”No, there is nothing anyone can do to help...."

Yang felt as if her heart was writhing and twisting in grief and pain. She wondered how she would feel if she lost her sister, Asailia. Or Ariki. Would she feel the same as Guryon? Would she be so mangled in heartbreak that she refuses help from anyone?
Maybe. Most likely. Definitely.
"What do you want me to do, if I can't help? There has to be a way..."

Guryon shook madly. He glared at the sky and stood up. He summoned water and hit himself repeatedly with water spikes. Two dozen spikes. Over and over! And there was a wall separating the two. Finally he dropped in exhaustion. The spikes disappeared as well with the wall. ”N-n-no....H-h-help....."

Guryon looked up after he finished his tantrum. He looked sorrowfully at Yang. ”I am sorry you have to see me like this" With that Guryon stood up and his face became a beacon of happiness. He looked at Yang and gave her a big smile. ”Now lets forget about this and go have fun okay?"

((It's okay. Most of my characters take after me, so we kind of think the same stuff at times. :3 ))

Yang was relieved as the tantrums ceased, yet was still worried. Though she only just met Guryon, she was fretful of him. She was scared that he may never escape his despair, and began to secretly plot ways to help. But she didn't show this on the outside, and returned the smile.

"Alright, then." Yang fluttered her silvery-blue wings. "What do you have in mind?"

Guryon nodded and spread his wings. "I was thinking we could go hunt for some food, or what ever you want. I just dont want to do anything in the water currently. Im sorry if that troubles you." Guryon stretched his legs and each one popped four times.

Yang nodded. Hunting was always great; in fact, Guryon's suggestion was rather coincidental. Didn't she come out here to hunt, too? And she did catch something, too. A swordfish. But then Guryon had said he didn't want anything to do with the water... That was alright, because Yang could just come back later to pick up her swordfish.
"Sure." Yang slowly unfurled her silvery blue wings in thought. "We can catch an auklet or something.."
