Stumbling over some ruins (Open to all)

(Things larger than 45ft will probably have trouble fitting)

Karu was off in the roguelands as he was oft to be found, looking around near the seawing territory today. He was enjoying his time in a rather wooded area and had found a rather nice lake within to walk around. He hadn't seen any other dragon's recently but he hadn't exacly been flying about since he found the lake. He had his satchel of interesting things as usual, but he had been rather lazy about collecting anything lately so it was mostly empty.

Finally something did catch his eye though. A strangely shaped stone a good bit inward from the shore, the plant life around it seemed a bit odd and was practically begging for investigation, and with his personality he couldn’t resist the call. He’d saunter on over to it to claw at the rock a little bit, wiped away the moss and rock, and he could’ve sworn there was some sort of writing on it.

He didn’t have time to look closer as it suddenly fell down in to the ground. In fact the whole surrounding area was falling! He barely managed to flap his wings and get off the ground before he fell down with it. He didn’t get off unscathed though, a facefull of old air, dust, and debris would shoot upward as a loud crash rang out, the now frantic dragon flying away with flashing wings. A huge cloud of dust would arise with the thunderous crash as the small dragon fled next to the water. Not in it of course because wet fur was annoying, but he certainly would not go near the new hole for a bit.

His curiosity certainly would win out eventually though, he’d have to go creep up next to the hole and look down. Outside of all the trees and dirt that have fallen in, it looked like some sort of old dragon made structure. One appropriately sized for seawings based on the corridor he could see leading in to darkness. Whatever room had just caved in was very large and open though, possibly some sort of meeting room for multiple dragons.

Tormaigh flew over the coast, trying to scout out where some of the larger monsters were to keep Baldirak updated. He had seen some, make sure to only get close enough to identify the beasts before running away. He was strong, but the thunderbird wasn’t stupid.

So, the scout kept on flying until he noticed a dragon in the distance. As he got closer, he could tell the dragon was looking at something, but couldn’t quite see what. It wasn’t until Tormaigh landed that he finally saw the ruins. ”What are you.... By my ancestors!”

front of him he had neglected to pay attention to his surroundings or the sky. “I didn't do it!” he huffs out almost immediately before he flips around, seeing the avian and relaxing a little. Sure he was a big bird, but he was worried he had pissed off or destroyed some resident's dragon property by accident.

“Oh, you're just a.. um.. a thunderbird!” he says, happy with himself for recognizing that. “I guess that made quite some noise.. looks like some sort of old seawing place's roof collapsed. Was just about to go check it out.” he says glancing between the thunderbird and the hole. Now he was all torn between talking to this new and interesting guest and checking out the mystery he had stumbled on!

Tormaigh gave the dragon an odd look at his reaction. He could at least understand it with all the monsters around, and he saw that the dragon found a structure. He look at the hole, not sure what it was before looking back at Karu. The thunderbird wondered about the odd structure, not quite sure why the Seawings would build a structure above water.

”Well,” the scout started. ”Would you like someone to join you?”

Karu seems ecstatic about the suggestion. "Oh definitely! It's much more fun exploring with company! As long as you don't think it'll be too small in there, you're bigger than even a larger SeaWing." he says, not waiting a single moment longer before jumping down and slowing his descent a bit with his colorful wings. There was quite a lot of room within, it seemed like some sort of gathering spot meant to fit multiple dragons. He'd barely wait before trekking about and exploring and sniffing around the room like a hatchling in some sort of playground.

The place was definitely abandoned, lots of dirt, cracked walls, some broken carvings. Curiously there was a passage heading toward the lake and one away from it. Now that he was down in the hole he could see down it a little more. The one toward the lake quickly opened in to a decorated cave of sorts, perhaps the original entrance. The one away from it was to dark to see down fully for very far.

Tormaigh followed the dragon into the room. It was massive. Probably a meeting room, but Tormaigh still wondered what a Seawings would need a structure above the water for, but at the moment he was more interested in the carvings and decorations at the one entrance.

"It's amazing what art can simply be... lost."

Karu would wander his way back over to Tormaigh to look at the carvings and decorations he was investigating. “Yeah, but that just makes it even better when you find them again!” he says cheerfully. “I think the way seawings came in was back that way.” He said, pointing his head back the corridor he had gone down. “There’s some water in there, looked pretty deep, but I know better than to try to use a seawing entrance…” he said with a little shudder. He’d had a bad experience with something like that in the past. “Plus I don’t wanna get wet.” He added in a mumble.
He’d look down the other passage after a bit, “So if that was the entrance, and this is the main room.. I wonder what’s down here?” he wondered aloud as he squinting his eyes a bit. It was really dark down there.

Tormaigh gave a nod to Karu’s note about the carvings. The thunderbird then turned his gaze to every point the dragon noted. It was definitely an odd thing. And what was beyond the main chamber? The large bird though for a moment about his companion’s words, then walked towards the tunnel.

”There’s only one way to know.”

Karu walked toward the tunnel as well, but it was kind of dark for his liking. Sure he could light things up with his breath but he'd risk causing further damage to the structure, plus keeping it going would be really exhausting. “We should probably figure out some sort of light source before going in there unless you're able to see in the dark, I could probably light something on fire...” he suggested.

He really should get around to learning some spells for these situations, but he and magic didn't usually get along for some reason. Finding something large enough would be problematic too, and it would eventually burn out. Maybe he could try a light spell of some sort but it was just unreliable!

Tormaigh followed the dragon towards the dark tunnel. The bird’s eyes were excellent, but he couldn’t see in the dark. The thunderbird listened to the dragon try to figure out how to light the way, but he couldn’t seem to think of anything. The scout at least had an idea though. He spread his wing slightly, and began to arc electricity between his body and wings. It wouldn’t be great, but it was light.
