A new dawn (Private with Kyht)

Hyruu yawned as he woke up, feeling deliciously well. His dreams had been as pleasurable as they had been the latest few days, being all about his happiness for him and his mate. The idea was still feeling new to his mind. A mate. He and Kyht were now mates.
For anyone that saw the two of them regularly, or just even once at the latest Festival, this wouldn't come as a surprise. The two of them had been gradually becoming closer and closer, until the events at the Festival made Hyruu realize his love for the dragoness. It had been a few days already they didn't go hunting, taking a few days off their work. This wouldn't do much harm considering the stocks were still full from the meat caught for the Festival.

The grey dragon started to purr as he hugged the form of the dragoness that was resting against his belly. These few days also have been an occasion to get to know her better, even though Kyht probably still had some secrets to unveil. What was sure was that she had a harmful past, and seeing her smile now was filling Hyruu with a simple happiness. He who had lived alone for so long, it was a rather surprising change in his thoughts.
The grey dragon smiled and continued to hug Kyht, waiting for her to wake up as well. He didn't really know what time it was, probably late morning. But that didn't matter. After all they both had all the time they wanted.

Kyht had been dreaming. Dreaming was something very few and far between for the inexperienced dragon, but her dreams involving Hyruu were rarely absent as of late. To be fair, she had only learned what exactly a mate was a mere 4 days prior!

With a grunt and a small squeak, Kyht lazily rose from the depths of her dream (involving quite a bit of cuddling and... kissing? Yeah that! Kyht liked kissing.) and her eyes slowly opened to meet Hyruu's, a smile immediately playing at her lips.

"Good morning! How... Long have you been up?" Kyht stretched slightly and pressed her face against Hyruu a bit more, giving him a sideways look she was sure would make him laugh.

Hyruu watched Kyht sleeping, a smile on his face. Kyht was usually always tense, and that made her look happier while she was sleeping so peacefully... For a moment he wondered what the dragoness could be dreaming about. Was she dreaming about their relationship? Judging by her smile it was more than probable.
A soft growl echoed through the cave as Kyht seemed to wake up, difficultly opening her eyes. Before he could greet her, she had already done so, and was looking at him with a position that made him chuckle.
"Good morning, Kyht. Not so long, I was watching you sleep. Dreaming about me, weren't you?" he taunted her, giving her a quick kiss on the muzzle.

Kyht's own cheeks grew more red than even she thought they could, and the kiss Hyruu left her to respond to was no help in the matter.

"Y-yes... Of course I was... Good morning Ruu!" Kyht exclaimed, jumping up to nuzzle the larger dragon and lick his neck affectionately. This dragon had made her nothing but happy the last few days and she didn't know if she could ever repay him for that, but she knew that being happy was something he wanted of her, so happy she was.

"Ruu I have been wondering. We haven't been out to do much in the tribe lately... Do you think we should begin hunting again? Maybe at least napping on those steps like you showed me?" Kyht, by now, had risen to give the still lying down Hyruu and quizzical yet curious look, not quite accusing him about being lazy in the tribe, more just curious if it was something to worry about or not.

Hyruu chuckled as Kyht began to blush and tried to cover it by profusely licking his neck. Those four days only seemed to have slightly changed her behavior, as now she seemed slightly more confident in herself. Maybe it was knowing someone was deeply caring about her. Never in his life had he felt so happy about simply making someone else happy.
As the dragoness stood up and expressed her worries, Hyruu simply looked at her and stretched his limbs.
"There's no need to worry. It's usual for two dragons who just became mates to take a week of holidays just for them, far from the worries of their work. The worst we risk is our colleagues teasing us about our new relationship... And besides after the feast there shouldn't be much work to be done hunting. But you're right, we could head outside to the main plaza." he replied to her with a smile.
