A Royal Visit (Open, NightWings)

Tempest lightly chuckled to herself, her lengthy body dominating the rugged pathway that she walked. Above her, a canopy of spindly branches crisscrossed over her, sheltering her from the small drizzle which came down in annoying sheets of water. A few guards followed her, loyal to her as they knew her since she was a young guard.

Thankfully, her flames and naturally higher body temperature vaporised the liquid before it could even touch her scales. Musing at the fact that there was at least a foot of water free air around her, Tempest shook her head to clear away her thoughts. A few and faint stabs of doubt remained in her mind about visiting them, but she was rather confident that she would be able to take down some of the NightWings if they wished to cause her harm.

But she doubted they would.

The gateways to the palace were much grander than she had expected. However, in the miserable day and light, there wouldn't be too much splendour from the palace without the light to illuminate them. A few guards stationed outside the walls quickly retreated inside at the sight of the massive FireWing and her few guards. She allowed the guards to follow her, it wasn't as if her presence would have caused a giant drama for these NightWings, especially when they were in their own palace... Would it?

Oculus shook his head at Delillah's very modest introduction with a smile of amusement. "Oh Delillah...." he said with a chuckle, and looked at Tempest. "She is being quite modest. She is in charge of all those a-....guards up on the pillars," he corrected himself, figuring calling them assassins would not put the already flustered FireWing at ease.

Peering back at the Fireling, he watched it keenly, then back at Tempest, then at the Fireling. "So you have absolute control over it...or does it go off your commands and feelings?" At the mention of Tempest agreeing for food, he nodded to a guard who ducked and disappeared down a corridor. "I do hope you enjoy fish, as that is all we had planned to make tonight, I did not expect company," he spoke, being honest and hoping the FireWings would enjoy fish, not sure how much they got as they usually preferred being in the hot pits of a volcano.

Myth surprised Oreo with her reply.  She didn't want him to get in too much trouble,  even after he was the one that caused her leg to get hurt? He froze as she reached out with her damaged paw and placed it on him,  mostly trying not to hurt her paw by moving anymore. " I- I'll try not to let him get in to much trouble.." he slightly mumbled, "And he should have known more than you should have, so it wasn't your fault. If anything it was unprofessional for him to come in like that, for he was needed as a healer not a s- an assassin."

If he wasn't surprised before he was more surprised now. Even after all of that she still wanted him to heal her arm? He glanced at her as they kept moving, trying to form a reply before giving up with a sigh.  "If you really want him to then you can wait for him in his clinic room until he gets back. I won't be able to stay with you but I'll tell him once he's done caring for the Firewing. " He glanced back at her, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes as he waited for her response before they got to the clinic.

Delillah stood silent next to sly her gaze moving gradually from Oculus to Tempest to the firelings. She nodded along the words Oculus spoke about her then she observed the firelings once more with sparked curiosity and listened intently, meanwhile her actual face was emotionless, as anything that came from tempest's snout describing the firelings could become of use in the future. At the mention of food she rose her head, her icy gaze shifting to Tempest's hers as she questioned her if they were to join them to eat. She shook her head "No, i believe your visit takes priority over any other matter. I will join you" Turning her face she gave sly a short nod, he was free to join them if he desired to do so. If he decided to stay this could become very useful in his training he would have to observe, learn and plan.

She then glanced back at the firelings, there were still many questions open, fortunately Oculus just spoke one of them. The answer could once again be of use, such a unstable drake with such powers could be influenced. She silenced her thoughts as she caught the uneasiness of the firewing guards, she did not blame them still it made her smirk internally.

He bowed to his teacher when she addressed him, before he gave her some space to sit beside himself. Throughout this conversation about the fireling, he was silent. This was not much of a place for him to speak out anyways, especially if he did not hold a position of authority among the Empire. No matter how loud his words are, chances are they were mere whispers easily lost by the most gentle of breezes. He got most of what he needed about this fireling. Trying not to appear bored or tired, he stood upright, waiting for this social interaction to end. Occassionally he would peer to the room Oreo escorted Mythryl in, wondering when the two would come out. He had the materials he needed to patch a broken arm, but it was better she seek treatment immediately rather than waiting for necrosis or worsening of her internal bleeding to the point that she needed to sacrifice her leg.

Sly grinded his fangs. Mythryl was a runner, her legs powerful, sleek... he shook his head when he realised he was flushing. Well, he would never see it again if he did not do something. When Tempest offered them to come for food, Sly just smirked. Pleasure is all mine, but I have other urgent matters to attend to. If it is no trouble, please keep my food warm until I return. He said this with a hint of smugness in his voice. Then his expression went neutral as he turned to Delillah and Oculus, and bowed as he stepped back. Please excuse me.

Adjusting his sachet, Sly hurried to the room where Oreo and Mythryl went. There should not be another exit there, so he predicted they were still inside. Behind the grand door, Sly knocked on it. If Oreo asked who was it, Sly would answer in a low tone. You know who I am. Please let me in, let me treat her now. Oreo should be able to determine it was Sly by his voice. Sly had no time for fun and games and if Oreo dared to play along, Sly would shoulder the door open. Hard.

Ferrum sighed as he sat outside of the glimmering palace.  The guards wouldn't let him in, and he wasn't going to take any chances.  The last time he had snuck into somewhere he shouldn't have been, he was scolded by almost the entire tribe, and he couldn't let that happen again.  Ferrum was only a siege specialist, and he had no business at the palace, he just wanted to see what was happening inside, as he was extremely curious as to what the two leaders were talking about.  He had heard rumors that the Fire Queen had showed up.  He didn't bother learning names, as he had no use for them.  Ferrum hardly ever spoke.  He didn't feel like he had anything worth saying out loud most of the time.  If he had the guts to sneak in, the most he could even do was watch.  It wasn't like there was much else to do in the palace, except perhaps go to the library, but that was off limits for Ferrum, seeing as last time he got hold of a book, it was never seen again.  All he could do now was wait for someone to exit the palace and talk to him about what they had seen.

Being chosen as one of the few to escort her into the Nightwing Empire was no reward to him. It was more of a duty for those truly loyal to the queen of fire. During most of the social visit, he was very quiet. He had to, before his voice would pour oil into the flames. Especially with how the Nightwings seemed to treat them and their less than special atmosphere. It was far from a royal welcome, now that the other guard hurt his own claw for hitting what seemed to be a rock. The dragons here adourned scales dark as sleep, and wore expressions like they wandered into a spider nest.

None of this concerned Nullyx much, for he would just look back at them with quite a sneer in his snout. Their efforts to cast any forms of fear failed in him, for they failed to capture the true fear and pride of the Firewings. As for why they were here, he did not know. Heck, he diddid not even know what this was going to be about. Protecting the queen was enough for him to join her here.

Inside, even once the queen unleashed her snarl at the disrespectful intrusion of their company, Nullyx did not phase one bit. His fangs were grinding against one another under his maw, ready to rip something out if this Emperor tried anything. As he had thought, these Nightwings liked to play the sneak and hid their supposed 'guards' as statues above them. This only added further distrust towards these black dragons. But he was in no position to speak, else Tempest would rip his tongue out. Or so he thought. He glared at the healer as he treated the other guard until he stepped back. Then everyone introduced themselves. Again, he was silent. It was perhaps not like the queen to introduce a mere guard to a royal like this Emperor.

At the mention of food, he relaxed a bit. He had hardly eaten since he departed. Nullyx would stay beside the queen, fidgeting a bit as if to shake off his nervousness. He was in unknown territory after all, and they would be eating in such.

At Oreo' reassurance that he would try not to let Sly come into too much trouble, Mythryl nodded slightly to him. It was only something that she was slightly reassured of as she was still in a rather great amount of pain due to the injury. She continued to follow him, limping into the clinic.

Straight away, dragons came and tried to tend to her, raising their voices to ask Oreo what had happened and to inquire Mythryl if she were alright. However, the dragoness didn't answer, simply recoiling and unintentionally shrinking down as the voices seemingly just scolded her constantly. She was worried at the louder voices, and the people didn't seem to care. "Please, just take me to a room, let Sly tend to me." She inquired, but the healers wouldn't listen to her, instead waiting for Oreo's confirmation to see if that was alright for them to do.

"She is rather kind than to keep her status quiet. It shall be a pleasure to have dinner with you all, and fish will be absolutely delicious as I am sure that my guards are famished. Especially you." Tempest stated, and would use her tail to lightly poke Nullyx on the shoulder in an attempt to get that look off from his face.

Tempest wasn't surprised when the healer had excused himself, leaving quickly. She assumed that he would most likely tend to his friend who had been thrown from the balcony.

From there, Tempest would follow Oculus, assuming that Nullyx and Delillah would follow the leaders. "I hope that my untimely arrival hasn't disturbed too many of your citizens, but... Anyway, what sorts of fish do you have at this time of day?" Tempest inquired, just trying to have a casual conversation with Oculus to try and calm her FireWings down.

Oculus raised an eye ridge, looking very amusingly into the guard that Tempest singled out, one who obviously caused problems. He figured there would be no issue, as it would be a pain to have to clean up not only the marble floors, but the fragile relations being built with the FireWings. As Tempest did agree to having a meal, he gave a small bow, "if you would be so kind as to follow me.....and the fish...ah...well...umm" Oculus faltered on remembering the name of the very flat fish that looked like a circle. He cast a glance to Delillah, hoping she would remember the name of the fish the cooks had planned on making as he led them into a banquet hall area.

Slowly Delillah too began to relax just slightly, she chuckled at Tempest's comment and stood swiftly aiming to follow Oculus and Tempest. Looking over to the uneasy guard next to Tempest she would walk over to him then direct him towards the doors leading into the banquet hall "Oh but why so uneasy, are we not all friendly here?" She would mock her smile lethal, and if one listened closely the shadows seemed to snicker, as she began walking slowly her gaze still on the guard who seemed close to Tempest. He too was bigger than Delillah but again there was no worrying for her, there were other ways to beat someone than with strength.

She then turned back to Oculus as she felt his gaze on her and heard his hesitation. Automatically she took a few steps forwards enabling her to look at Tempest before she continued Occy's sentence "As to the fish we offer a variety of Halibut, Turbot and Brill" She finished as she turned back around and gestured at the shadows above. Half of them were to stay the rest were to leave and return to their other duties. Immediately the room seemed to lighten up more as one by one half of the shadows inaudibly returned to their duties.

Oreo could understand the concern of the healers once the two got there, but there was also the fact that crowding a patience wasn't good. It was like cornering an animal, something that could cause them to lash out in fear. The swarms of healers were enough to make Oreo feel uncomfortable, not to mention ever dragon trying to ask him what happened. He could almost feel Myth shrinking next to him, and saw she was when he looked at her. All he wanted was to get to Sly's room and out of this crowd.

Eventually, it was too much. Oreo growled at the group, hoping to make them all take a step back so he could breath again. "She has requested that Sly is the one to take care of her, so we will wait for him to get back," he huffed, making eye contact with everyone around the room. "Now, please step aside so I can guide us to his room." Even with a few groans and mummers of protest, Oreo walked through the crowd, slightly extending his wing over Myth to give her some extra space from the assortment of healers.

Finally they made it to his room. Opening up the door he let Myth go in first before following. Taking up one of the less crowded corners he sat with a sigh, closing his eyes for a second before reopening them again. "Sorry for that mess, healers are just attracted to the injured." The black and white dragon paused for a moment before adding, "Well, I guess I better go... unless you'd want me to make sure no one else comes and tries to help you." The thought of waiting here until Sly arrived made him cringe, but he offered non the less. It wasn't the waiting that bothered him, but just having to meet him again.

Five minutes after the last knock, he predicted they were no longer in there. Or were never in there to begin with. He pushed the door open and found no one in any of the nearby rooms. He would have thought Mythryl could not go far because of her injury, but she had Oreo with her. If anything, they would be heading to a clinic if not to Sly directly. It was perhaps a good choice, considering he was not equiped with any stints to hold her leg in place.

He hurried out of the palace, pushing the doors hard, and looked around. She was long gone already, and all that was around him was another Nightwing standing near the doors. Sly walked past him, but was approached and asked about what was inside. If he did, Sly would stop him midway and look at him with a the serious yellow eyes. Apologies. I am in a hurry. He would say before making a dash towards the clinic.

It was an uneventful travel until he got there. The receptionist reminded him that his shift does not start until later this evening, but that changed when he asked if Oreo and Mythryl had walked by here. She nodded and directed him to his clinic room, where the two were perhaps waiting.

He pushed the doors open, and sure enough, the two were waiting for him in here. Sly just let a moment of silence pass by, before he calmly asks if Oreo would leave the room, then ask to see Mythryl's arm.
