Storm flew swiftly over the frosty landscape. "Gosh, it is freezing here!" he said to himself as he glided over the snow. He saw the IceWing pass coming up and he was glad that he wouldn't have to fight an IceWing. He hoped that Seyn wasn't the kind of dragon that just started the battle as an ambush. Storm liked to start battles formally and honorably.

He landed down by a pile of snow, glad to rest his wings. He laid down, letting himself rest, but not fall asleep.

Seyn sighed as he was making his way to the place in which his next round would occur. He barely had the time to heal from the serious injuries he got during his previous fight, and as such he was rather reluctant to engage another fight. He wondered who his opponent was, though. He just had to hope it wasn't an Icewing.
All he knew was that his opponent wasn't a Semi-god like him, so he wouldn't be able to use his powers during the fight. Which was a shame, because right now they were ridiculously useful. The heat that was radiating around him was keeping him warm. Just to get used to the cold he was diminishing it little by little as he was soon to reach his destination.
It looked like an interesting location for a battle. Stuck within the mountains, the pass was right between two tall peaks. Deep snow was covering the whole ground, and beneath were only rocks, not dirt. Seyn couldn't tell yet, but this may prove a treacherous ground to fight on. It would be too easy to cause an avalanche on this field, and with the two nearby peaks it could easily lead with one being stuck under the snow. At least at that height nothing was preventing the sun to shine, the pass being well oriented. That was good news, he would be able to easily recharge his breath when needed. They were above most of the clouds, but there were still some higher up - and sometimes even at their own level.

Seyn landed nearby, hoping his opponent wouldn't directly try to cause an avalanche on him. It would be terribly unsportsmanlike, and so none of his opponents had started a fight like this. It seemed like this time was no exception, as he found his opponent. He was a young Nightwing, way smaller than Seyn.
"Good morning there. It's quite a landscape here, isn't it? I am Seyn, Semi-god of the Lightwings." he introduced himself.

Storm stood up. "Good morning," he replied. "I am Storm. Lieutenant of the SkyWings." He studied the LightWing, annoyed that he was fighting someone that was so much bigger than him once again. "I am glad that you didn't just start attacking me. That would be very dishonorable. My last opponent did that to me," he explained. "And please. Let's not bring this to the death. I have no intention of killing." He thought about Sarah and the rest of the SkyWings, and how awful it would be if he had died.

Seyn slightly raised an eyebrow as the younger dragon introduced himself as the Lieutenant of the Skywing. Not only because he looked quite young for that job, but also because of his features he assumed it would be a Nightwing. But he chose not to comment on the last point. There may be a painful story behind it, something that he wouldn't want to talk about.
"Lieutenant? Well I am honored to meet you, Storm. Ambushing before the fight begins is indeed rather dishonorable in such a Tournament. There's no pride in winning with a cheap trick in an event like this. It is a Tournament, not a war. And do not worry, no one wants to die. We will stop as soon as one of us surrenders, and fainting counts as a defeat. Is it okay for you?" the Golden dragon asked calmly.

Storm smiled at Seyn. "Yes, I am the lieutenant. King Tion is a great ruler," he said. "And it is an honor to meet you too, Seyn." He sighed with relief when the golden dragon agreed about his view of the tournament. He then nodded. "Yes, those rules are fine with me." He smiled again at the seemingly kind LightWing.

Seyn nodded at the Nightwing - no, Skywing Lieutenant - in front of him.
"Then it is settled. Shall we begin? The sooner we will be done, the sooner we will be able to get warmer... I let you the honor of the first attack." the Golden dragon said.
Seyn then put himself on the defensive. He knew nothing of the other dragon, and he didn't like to attack first in that case. With his size and thick scales, he should be able to block most of his opponent's blows, if he was quick enough to react.

Storm took a deep breath. "Thank you. Yes, I am ready." He walked a little bit away, and then lunged at his opponent, looking like he was going to bite his right front leg, trying to bait him into attack. Before he bit into his leg, he suddenly switched his jaws to bite into his left front leg.

Seyn watched attentively his opponents movements as he took a few steps backward. The smaller dragon was looking like he was about to try and bite one of his legs. That wasn't necessarily the best place to strike, due to both their size difference and Seyn's strong scales, but nonetheless he didn't really want to get bitten. He started to move his paw back when the Skywing visibly changed his mind and went for his other leg. With one of his paw already up, there wasn't really anything he could do... apart from using that said paw. Right as Storm was about to bite his other leg, Seyn tried to kick the smaller dragon with his other front paw

Storm saw the kick coming and went flat on his stomach. The kick went over his head. The icy flooring made him slide under the LightWing's stomach, and he clawed up at it, trying to make some scratches.

Storm would have the bad surprise to realize that while sliding on his stomach, he was a bit too short to reach Seyn's belly from under - for that he would have needed to be standing up, which was impossible while sliding like this. However, he would be able to realize that Seyn was among those dragons that had some solid plating under their chest and belly, so even if he had been able to reach the bigger dragon's belly his claws wouldn't have been able to make that much damage. Out of reflex Seyn jumped away from his opponent, but he soon regretted it. With his weight and the snow hiding the terrain beneath, his landing got rather clumsy as he almost fell. That would give Storm another opening to attack.

Storm took the opening and jumped up. He jumped on Seyn, trying to use his weight to knock him over all of the way.

Seyn only got the time to secure his paws on the snow before Storm attacked again. He would have to be cautious about moving... But instead of landing an attack, Storm only tried to push Seyn, probably hoping to make it fall. This proved rather ineffective as the only thing that had threatened Seyn's balance was his own weight. Storm would just feel like he ramed a wall, with about the same result.
This series of actions made Seyn frown.
"You look totally inexperienced. You are attacking me as if I was the same size as you. If you don't change your mindset, you will not even manage to land a correct hit on me." Seyn told his oponent.
After three attacks, it was his turn to attack. Seyn attempted to kick the smaller dragon once again, trying to anticipate how he would dodge.

Storm looked annoyed. "I am not inexperienced. You don't know who I have taken out in the past." He leaped backward, dodging the kick. He hated fighting when he was so small. He would have tried to knock Seyn's other leg while he was kicking to knock him off balance, but he knew it would be no use. He couldn't even kick at Seyn. it would do about as much damage as if he hugged him!

Storm knew that he had to change his tactic. So instead of trying to knock Seyn's leg over, he tried to jump onto his face, and started slashing there. It was probably the most vulnerable place he could get to.

Seyn closed his eyes as soon as he understood Storm was going for his face. That was a more dangerous move from the smaller dragon... It seemed like the fight had finally begun.
Instead of withdrawing his head like Storm would probably expect - due to his size, the smaller dragon would probably be able to grab his horn or something - the golden dragon threw his head right in his direction. If he wanted to do some damage, it wouldn't be without a few bruises from a good headbutt.

Storm clung on to Seyn's horns, only to be knocked square in the stomach with a headbutt. The wind got knocked out of him and he fell to the ground. It took him a moment, but he got back up, ready to fight again.

Seyn opened his eyes as he felt Storm being kicked. The smaller dragon could say anything he wanted, it was obvious he lacked of experience - and in a way that was for the better. That was the kind of experience a young dragon like this shouldn't have.
Seyn opened his wings wide and began to forcefully beat them. Not to fly, no, he was flapping them right toward Storm. The snow at Seyn's feet began to fly away, pushed right toward Storm. While the younger dragon was distracted by the snow, Seyn took a deep breath and unleashed his breath, a powerful beam of pure light.

Storm saw Seyn's wings flapping and wondered what his strategy was. He flew up above the ground only a couple feet so that the snow would all miss him. Then he quickly swerved off to the side as he saw the beam of light coming. It missed him very narrowly, and he fell into a snow drift. He quickly jumped out and shot a sleeping orb at Seyn's face.

Seyn was about to stop beating his wings as the other dragon proved agile enough to dodge his beam despite the high wind he was causing. Of course, as a part of the Skywings he would be used flying in harsh conditions. He was almost forgetting he was a Skywing and not a Nightwing.
The golden dragon spotted the other dragon breathing some orbs... that got carried by the wind Seyn's wings were causing, dissipating in a sort of purple powder. So this dragon was breathing a sort of powder ? That was a good thing to know, he would maintain his wings so he could blow these orbs of powder away. What was that dust doing ? Would it damage him on touch, or if he breathed it ? In any case, that was something he would avoid to breath. Not letting the other dragon rest, Seyn breathed another light beam.

Storm was getting exhausted from darting in and out so much. He needed to fight more patiently and look for weak points. Though he had no clue how he was going to defeat a dragon so large, wise, and powerful. He knew that this might be the end of him in the tournament. So when Seyn shot the beam of light, he tried to jump out of the way as best as he could, but the end of his tail got caught and it lit on fire. He yelped in pain and jumped into the snow to cool it off.

It hurt a lot, but he would have to deal with it for now. Storm wondered how long Seyn could keep his wings beating like that. Storm decided to stand here in his battle position and wait for him to attack or get tired so Storm could get a move in.

Seyn stopped flapping his wings, just keeping them in a position so that he could resume flapping them in case he needed it. Would he be fast enough to be able to blow another orb away? Probably not, he was mostly exposing a blatant weak point to his opponent. But the orb wasn't the only thing he could blow over if he needed to. And besides, showing of his wings like that, he could lure the smaller dragon in attacking them. It was risky, his opponent had proved quick enough to dodge a lot of his blows. But it was worth a shot.

Storm thought he should make a quick move in. He shot a sleeping orb at Seyn's face to keep him distracted and clawed at his wings, hoping to finally get a wound on the large LightWing. He then jumped back to his original spot so that if Seyn tried to slice at him, he would be too slow and miss.

Seyn had underestimated the smaller dragon's speed. As soon as the black dragon spat his orb, Seyn beat his wings and managed to push the powder away, but also leaving him unable to retract his wings when he realized it was only a bait. Seyn let out a loud roar as Storm's claw cut through his wing's membrane. It was a large gash, not large enough to prevent him from flying but enough for it to become hard. Seyn put his wings back to his flanks and breathed another light beam, hoping his opponent would have been distracted by the mighty roar.

Yes! Storm thought, since he finally got damage on his opponent. He jumped off to the side in case Seyn tried to counter attack, and the light beam barely missed him. He was finally starting to get a handle on the battle. He took a deep breath and jumped at Seyn's chest, only before jumping back to bait him and quickly to shoot a sleeping orb at his face.

Seyn tried to kick Storm as he tried to come closer from him, only for him to duck away from the hit. The Golden dragon stopped breathing as soon as he saw that, as this whole maneuver was clearly a bait. And a bait it was. The orb hit him in the face, but didn't cause him any harm. Like he suspected, this would only take effect if he breathed the powder. Seyn expelled the air he had in his lungs, blowing the powder away. He just added to that a small flap from his intact wing to blow what could be left of the powder away.
The Golden dragon was perfectly aware he was exposing his wing by doing so. Seyn just prepared himself should Storm decide to take this opportunity.
