First topic message reminder :

I'm sick of being tossed around by storms....
Snowscale painfully got up, his left foreleg bent at an odd angle. He snarled quietly to himself and promptly fell down a hole into a large, spacious cavern.
"Oh fantastic..." he muttered under his breath, fully aware that he was dead meat if a monster found him.
He wandered for a few moments, keeping his injured forearm close to his body. After a moment he could take the pain no longer, and fell to the ground with a roar of dismay.

Destella smiled when Snowscale perked up. It was always nice to see him happy. She then snuggled up to him before speaking. ”I feel the same way, and like you said, maybe you could meet your parents at some point.”

The serpent’s thoughts, for a moment, returned to what the future held for her and her love. And it seemed like it could be a good one to her.

Snowscale wrapped his wing around Destella and sighed. His thoughts were tuned towards the strange things he had seen in Ronin's mind, and suddenly a jolt from Destella caused his tail to twitch."I rather hope the future for us is good, too."

Destella smiled, though she could have sworn she didn’t mention their future out loud. Either way, she smiled and gladly nestled herself under his wing. She could have stayed that way forever, just being there with Snowscale, but the dragoness started thinking about the “mindbreach” that Ronin had mentioned. Maybe the white scaled dragon could do it to her. It was honestly something she couldn’t get off her mind.

Snowscale fell silent. How exactly AM I able to hear things she hasn't said...... does it have to do with the stone? Snowscale heard Destella wondering about the same thing, but when he looked at her she just seemed deep in thought.
"Oh Lupus above......" Snowscale gasped. "I think I'm reading your mind....
How is this even possible???

Destella jumped a bit when Snowscale started talking, not expecting him to. Her face went from surprise to shock when Snowscale said he was reading her mind! She couldn’t get the shock off her face before she finally opened her jaws. ”Wha....Y-you’re...? I don’t kno... you didn’t say that out loud.”

What was going on? She hadn’t heard anything from his head until she focused on him. Was it the stones?

A familiar, if somewhat pained voice, chuckled down the stone passageway. "You two really DO show potential. But clearly you require a bit of slight tutoring." Shade limped into the room, bleeding heavily from his chest. He held something like a snake in his hands, and Snowscale's stomach heaved very painfully.
Lucky thing I haven't eaten for a while or it would make a reappearance.
Shade was holding his intestines.

Destella turned to the voice. Her amber eyes widened, and her feathers went pale, at the what she saw. Shade was alive, but he really shouldn’t have been.I took her a few seconds to even speak. ”W-wha-what happened?”

"Straven happened." Shade winced. "Snowscale please, calm the check down. My mate has had worse and she gave off no where near a fraction of your panic."
"S-sor-sorry-sorry, Shade." Snowscale stammered.
Shade winced again and managed to shove the ropey mass back into his stomach, which made Snowscale's stomach feel like it was trying to burst out of Snowscale's chest. His strange white energy poured over his wound, and it closed like it was never there. "Boy,you wouldn't last a second in Griselwood if you think THIS is bad. I've seen my friend Rowan with more slices in him than you two have teeth." Shade grimaced, and dark things Snowscale never wished to see again showed in his mind. "Anyhow, what says you two to learning more of what you possess?"

Admittedly, Des gagged a little when Shade put the intestines back in his gut. It was just disgusting to watch, and now something the dragoness liked to see. Thankfully, he decided to close the wound, though the serpent wondered why he waited for them to see his injuries to do it.

Then Shade told them about something that happened to a friend of his. She focused on his words, and soon saw flashes of the human’s thoughts. It made her sad, really.

Then he asked if th they wanted to know the stones. She gave Snowscale a concerned look before answering. ”If Snowscale wants to, then yes.”

Snowscale nodded slowly, more than a bit startled at Shade's coolness under this whole scenario. "I wouldn't mind it."
Shade smiled, and he transformed back into the wolf-human hybrid. "In that case I'd better get the rest of the crew.... or at least whatever's left of it. Sleep well, you two. You've got a big day tomorrow." He smiled and left, his mind worrying about something or other called Griselwood.
"So..... now what?"

Destella just watched as the werewolf walked away, able to hear something faint, but not loud enough to make anything out. Then Snowscale asked her what she wanted to do. The serpent looked at her love, trying to think of something. She began to wonder what else the den had to see, and hoped it would get what she just saw off her mind. That, or just watching the sky. She finally left her thoughts as she spoke with an uncertain voice. ”Well, you could show me any of your den I haven’t seen? Or we could just stay here and relax.”

"Well, I think the only part you haven't seen is where I sleep. Nothing much to see though, just a moss bed and a few things I've picked up over the years."
Like the first feathers Tempest and Fireburst molted here. And a white scale from that Icewing. And the last memory I have left if Starshine, at least physical memory. And that skull, for some odd reason, which was for some reason moved there.....
Snowscale doubled over, and his eyes bore that strange silver light from earlier. "Beware the town of death and dark, and discover the short one's mark. Discover the secrets, undo the curse, and find the egg, which time reversed. Follow the gold into the fray, and with all your heart be ready to pray."

”Oh. Ok,” was Destella’s response, until she began to hear some of the things in there. She also quick realized that she heard Snowscale’s thoughts again. It was still weird to her: to hear someone’s mind. Looked at the stone she’d been given, trying to figure out how to use the thing, before responding. ”Well, it still sounds nice to....

The serpent didn’t get to finish before Snowscale did the thing from earlier. It creeped her out, but there was nothing she could do. She just watched, unable to focus with what she was hearing. Then, when Snowscale finished, Destella quickly slid by his side, helping however she could.

Snowscale gasped as images rushed into his brain. A town filled with unspeakable horrors, Straven looming over Destella's limp body, Straven coming closer, closer, the agony of having one intestines hanging out.
"Fire and blood will sweep the land.
How will she bring him back from the dead? The town so dark will be given rise, but what will she do when he dies?"

Destella just watched in horror, catching some glimpses of images, but not enough to know what they were. Her horror was coming from the fact that Snowscale was still going, and that she didn’t know how to help. The dragoness twined her tail with his as she tried to snap him out of the odd trance.

Snowscale snapped back into reality, shuddering violently. The lasting image of Straven's knife coming for him hung over him like a black cloud, quenching all hope Snowscale may have had for the future.
He curled next to Destella, his shuddering showing no signs of slowing or stopping. "W-what was that?"

Destella placed her wing over the white scaled dragon, feeling him shake in fear. She got a good glimpse of the last part of his... possession? It was one of Straven’s knives, ready for impact. She slowly placed her muzzle on his as she told him what happened and what he said, before finally telling him what she saw. ”I-I saw the last part of... whatever that was. W-what’s happen to you Snowscale? I want to know how I can help, but I just don’t know how.”

Snowscale shook his head. "I-impact? W-w-what...." Snowscale didn't like the obvious tremor in his voice, so he stopped talking.
Whoa, whoa, easy there Snowscale. Steady. Listen to the sound of my voice, alright? You'll be okay. Straven is gone. Firebrand is gone. Destella is there. I am here. That's it, easy there. Soon we'll be there. Shade's mindvoice was gentle, and soon Snowscale's shuddering subsided.

Shade chuckled. Wounds aren't the only things I heal.
Snowscale smiled and settled beside Destella. "Whatever that was it's gone now. I think it was just me reacting to all this stress. We should probably just ignore it."
Shade's whisper was almost inaudible to Snowscale it was so soft. Doubtful, if you are anything like Midnight.

Destella just nodded, not quiet believing Snowscale, but didn't wanting to push the issue more. She just leaned into her love, saying "Ok" before laying next to him.

Snowscale couldn't shake the feeling that something awful was going to happen. He barely noticed Destella laying down next to him, and before he knew it he was sleeping.
And with the sleep came the dreams.
Snowscale found himself in a cavern coated in blood. A lone figure sat in the middle, and it took Snowscale only half a second to recognize it as something he knew, yet didn't know.
"You're at least smart enough to detect my aura, Snowscale," the figure said, and Snowscale jumped at Firebrand's voice. "Yes, be surprised. Welcome to my true form. A bit smaller than my Nightwing impression, but make no mistake: I'm as potent as ever."
He faced Snowscale at last, revealing what he looked like. His black skin glowed with veins of lava, and his hair was completely made of fire. His arms were muscular and his fingers ended in deadly-looking claws. His teeth were like the fangs of a viper, and a spiked tail whipped behind him.
"Now," Firebrand purred. "Have you ever felt pain while in a dream but you couldn't wake up? No? Oh, well then you're in for a whole new torture..."

Destella just laid there, not showing any signs of dreams or nightmares. She was just peaceful. That is until some images came into her mind. Slight glimpses of what was going in Snowscale’s mind: of things some demonic creature was doing to him. She thought it was a nightmare at first, until she woke up.

She looked over at Snowscale, catch more images as she focused on him. The dragoness then realized something wasn’t right, and began to try and wake her love up.

Snowscale was screaming in his dream. Tortures he never knew existed still awaited him. Then finally, like a splash of water, Snowscale woke up. He was shaking worse than a leaf in a storm, and his breathing came in ragged gasps. Destella was shaking him, and he mumbled an "I-I'm awake" before his eyes became distant and unfocused.

Destella just leaned against him, placing both her wings around the frightened dragon. She just closed her eyes, happy that he was at least out of whatever was happening. She finally spoke as she nuzzled Snowscale. "I...I saw some of what happened.
I didn't see much, but it was enough."

Snowscale showed no sign of hearing her. His stared at some unseen thing in the distance, and eyes were like dull, smooth river stones. He looked, to put it mildly, completely unhinged.
Even his mind was blank.
Clearly something was going on.

It didn’t take long for Des to realize something wasn’t right. Snowscale didn’t respond in any way, shape, or form. It made her even more worried when, for the first time since this mindbreach stuff started, she tried to purposefully look into her love’s mind, only finding nothing. Not a thought. The serpent began to gently shake the dragon, repeating his name to try and snap him out of it.
