The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Xangor landed on the northern borders of the NightWings Empire, not so far from the IceWings territories. The dark dragons have locked their borders until today, imprisoning anyone that would dare to enter their territories. There was a reason behind this: the NightWings needed to build the largest army ever, militarizing the empire. After months of training, the army was finally ready to fight. The NightWings would finally start expanding territories and open their borders. Their goal was to take over as many rogues territories possible, capture new servaints and prepare the NightWings to move war against another tribe and access more lairs and resources. It wasn't casual the NightWings will move towards north, where the Icewings live. The ice dragons were one of possible Oculus targets. Xangor planned to do all of this in great secret alongside the Empetor Oculus, so other tribes would never suspect about the NightWings intentions. In fact they have already prepared a diabolic and cunning scheme: the NightWings will attack during the night, taking advantage of the darkness to capture rogues and secretely claim territories. The forests will help the dark dragons to hide even better. Xangor looked around while the night was coming. The other NightWings would arrive soon to join this campaign. Everyone was going to have a special role and be rewarded if the campaign would be successful. Xangor couldn't wait to start this invasion and he scratched the ground a little impatient. However he was in control of himself, his mind already working on all the strategies and his menacing red eyes studying the battlefield to prepare the attack. He has spent most of his life administrating territories, but rarely having a chance to conquer lands because of the peaceful approach of previous leaders. However Oculus was completely different from other leaders: he was ambitious enough to consider about moving war against others to strengthen the empire. This was one of the reasons because Xangor was supporting the Emperor, afterall. The Emperor will be the one to lead the invasion. This night will be the first attack and it was certainly going to be a nightmare for the poor rogues .

Oculus was antsy, constantly knocking his front paw against the ground and unconsciously chewing his lip. This was a big moment, the first offensive of the NW Empire. Success would be celebrated for a week, failure would haunt them for years. He had a big debate whether or not to don his armor or leave it, but eventually decided to wear it in the case of surprise attacks. While he much rather preferred a fight scale to scale, the extra sheets of metal were not too much of a hindrance, just the extra weight annoyed him. Looking out over the unclaimed lands of the Rogues, Oculus turned to Xangor, trying to calm his nerves as he got into a battle trance. "Xangor, have the scouts come back yet with any reports on what we will be dealing with?" Oculus asked, half turning his head and looking out of the corner of his eye at Xangor, still facing the direction his warriors were soon to march. He wanted 0 causalities, and he was confident that his soldiers were trained well enough to work together to prevent anyone from a major or fatal wound. It was only a matter of time till they marched and expanded their new land.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Hearing that she was going to be able to attack some rouges made Frey extremely happy. Her long, finned tail flicked back and forth and when she knew it was time to go, she opened her large wings, letting them flap a bit and get used to being opened after sitting in the palace for so long with them being tucked. Bunching her legs, she lunged into the air, letting her wings snap open and flap quickly. Quickly gaining speed, she rose higher and higher before she was near the place she saw Oculus take off too. Her armour was fit tight to her body, smirking. Iluzoran (me) had made her special armour that fit her lithe body. She felt in order to be fully prepared, she must be ready to fight as if it was a whole army.
Letting her long clawed feet touch the ground, she descended carefully and dipped her head low to Xangor and Oculus. "Master Oculus and Master Xangor" she said silently, having a habit of calling others higher than her master. Folding her wings to her sides and letting her bottom touch the ground gently, she looked to Oculus as she heard his question. "I think I saw some rouges as I flew over but it was hard to tell. The Scouts are coming soon Master Oculus" she spoke in a low voice, hoping she wasn't speaking out of turn.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
And so, I have been summoned.
Sly was late, not that he had ample time to begin with. Preparations was slow, considering that he was probably the only medic allowed within the battlefield. With an army so vast, it shouldn't be a surprise. He wondered if it was necessary.
He quickly shook that thought and hurried, his wings beating hard within the blanket of darkness over them. The large knapsack he carried over his chest was rather bothersome, the straps whipping the back of his neck with every flap. It was stuffed so much with herbs and potions, that one could mistaken him for a courier dragon. He gathered as much as he could from all over the world, keeping himself company with the shadows and avoiding the gleaming eyes of strangers. But there was only so much that he could carry. Although it seemed plentiful, he hardly had enough for every dragon. It didn't worry him as much. He was familiar with most of the rogue territories and read up on any herbs he may find there.
Not that he would have much of an opportunity to go resupply. Under Occulus's orders, Sly was to stay beside him at all times--in case something went wrong and the leader sustained a wound. But with many guards literally crowding around him, and with the armour he wore, Sly ought to say 'good luck' to the rogues.
Dragon figures loomed from the horizon, two of which were familiar. Sly flew faster. Seeing how they were sitting there, Sly presumed they hadn't yet started the invasion. He rushed the landing, the hard rock slamming against the soles of his claws and sending painful chills up his legs.
My apologies for the delay, Sly huffed before the wind from his landing could settle. He could bombard Occulus with a number of reasons if he had to, but it could take all night. Surely he wouldn't want that.
After a few more puffs, Sly relaxed and recovered his smirk. Your healer has arrived.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Lead sat tall, perched on a large tree that buckled slightly under his weight. To keep balance, he dug his hooked claws into the bark and occasionally flapped his feathered wings. What a dull day it had been. The only semi-interesting thing that had happened was a few reptilians that had ambushed Lead. Unfortunately, the meat had been stringy, so they were nothing more than an inconvenience. Lead sighed and lifted a leg to itch his side. His gaze made its way to the horizon that was now a shadowy silhouette against the orange, evening sky. Something was off.. Very off.. Lead strained his neck forward and squinted, each of his ears flicking to and fro. After a few moments, three shadows came into view. Lead sniffed the air. Earthwings maybe? He had seen quite a few of them recently. No.. They were too small. Lead shuddered and shook his head. They were probably looking for another dragon, nothing to be worried about. But he couldn't resist getting a better look. Lead spread his feathered wings and launched himself off his tree perch. He beat his wings and climbed his way into the sky. After he was certain he'd be able to get a better view, he stopped. He looked down and parted his jaws, taking in the dragons scents. Lead recognized the shiny black scales. They were Nightwings. Their sharp scent confirmed it. Lead narrowed his eyes. By the looks of it, they were up to no good. He let out a low growl and glided back down into the trees.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Alistair flew close behind Emperor Oculus and Master Xangor on the way to the invasion. It was a thrill to be going on a mission such as this, but being the Royal Messenger, Alistair remained serious and didn't say anything stupid or act like an excited hatchling.
Once the NightWings landed, Alistair instantly folded her wings to her sides and gazed around. Not simple, swift glances, but a stare. She looked out for rogues, and didn't dare to speak nor make a sound or movement that could give the NightWings away.
Alistair moved gracefully, despite the armor she was burdened with, and prowled at the edges of the NightWing party. She shot up her head as she heard the faintest sound of wingbeats, and a breeze whistling a hymn at her ears. But this wind was not natural... It was caused by something, and Alistair could detect a scent.
Alistair galloped back to Oculus and Xangor, performing a quick bow before saying, "My lieges, I believe I detected the scent of a rogue." in a quiet, soft-spoken voice.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Pyrrhus wandered the rogue lands in look for supplies and what not. All was normal until he saw what nobody should make good of. All of a sudden what appeared to be Nightwings came flying in through the sky. One came particularly low to him. Pyrrhus was lucky for this occasion, As for this time he had his armor, longsword, and tower shield with him.
Pyrrhus hit the ground and the dragon came flying in. He dove into the dirt with a thud as the trees around him swayed in the turbulence from their wings. Scouting the area they may be, but across the land he saw a large gathering of the dragons in armour. A few select in particular were surrounded by them, like flies to a carcass.
He could tell of what was to come by the blocked formation some of the more bulky ones took. It seemed to him like they would sweep the lands for something. He didn't know what yet, But, he knew it wasn't going to be good for him. He instantly got to work, digging a small pit trap like thing that he could barely have room to move in. But this wasn't meant to have others fall in, it was for him.
He took the carefully cut section of grass and set it over some supporting sticks over his head as his sat in the hole. It would provide adequate cover and protection for him, If he needed to attack at all. He slunk into the hole with his eyes barely being able to see out at the oncoming offenders. He didn't stand a chance, that was for sure.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Lead slid down into the shadowy canopy of the forest and made his way through the cool, damp shade of thick vegetation. He stopped for a moment to think about what he saw. Why would the Nightwings be here? Knowing them, it was highly unlikely that they were just taking an evening stroll. The air around him was motionless and was accompanied by a heavy feeling of dread, adding to the tension. Lead shuddered. They couldn't be... But then again, Nightwings aren't known for being fair.
Lead took to the sky with a few wing-beats and headed toward a cave. One in which belonged to a 'friend' of his that he figured might know what was going on.
When Lead arrived, he was greeted by a cluster of wings and talons hurtling towards him. Lead jumped back just in time and a tiny seawing with as many scrolls and books as possible stuffed into a satchel that was hung around his neck, tumbled at Lead's talons. It quickly got to it's feet and huffed, looking flustered. When he looked up and saw Lead you could tell his heart had stopped. The Seawing screamed and scrambled backwards, tripping over its own feet and eventually falling again. Lead raised a brow and growled.
"Oh Lead!! It's you!! What a uh... p-pleasant surprise!" The seawing sputtered. Lead sighed and glared at him. "What's going on? Why are the Nightwings here?" Lead looked at the sewing and his cave. The cave was strewn with broken potions, scattered herbs and half eaten carcasses. "And why are you leaving?" Lead snarled. The sewing gulped and hesitated before pointing to the horizon with a single talon and taking to the sky, shouting over his wings. "The Nightwings are going to take rogue territory!"
Lead's heart skipped a beat. He knew this was true. The seawing had taken a liking to watching over the rogue territory and in doing so, also knew most things that happened. Lead grit his teeth. He wouldn't let this happen. Not in a million years.
Lead growled and took off, towards the last known position of the silhouettes. He needed to figure out what they were planning. If he could just listen in, maybe he could get the information he required. Lead ran through the brush, the stinging branches scratching against his sides and face. Lead soon reached their position. Another dragon had joined them. Lead stood in the shadows, his body low to the ground.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
The last warriors were joining the NightWings army. It meant the invasion could finally start. Xangor was so focused on the mission that he even ignored Sly's apologizes for being a bit late. Xangor didn't seem to be nervous. He was calm and collected as usual. This mission was supposed to be easy. There was no way rogues would stand a chance against the NightWings army. Xangor was going to answer Oculus question. but he was distracted by a strong and close scent. It was clearly a rogue and not a fellow NightWing. In fact also Allistair had the same feeling. Xangor smirked because he could see some shadows moving around. "The scouts aren't coming back." Xangor explained to Oculus, but also glancing at Frey with an amusing look, because her statement was partially wrong. "They're already here." Xangor's expression turned into a evil smirk. All of sudden the shadows took the shape of dark dragons, surrounding Lead. The shadows growled loud to give the alarm. It was clear to everyone what was happening at this point. The shadows were indeed Xangor's scouts and they have located a spy, Lead. Xangor started to disappear inside a dark fog, preparing for the incoming battle. Xangor was wearing his silvery and beatiful armour, light enough to not give up agility. "It seems we have found a prey." Xangor smirked again, arrogance radiating from his scales. For Xangor, rogues were "preys" to capture and enslave. Nothing more. That rogue will be the first. In the meanwhile the sun has completely vanished, leaving space to the night. Exactly as the NightWings had planned. They had the advantage of the darkness now and nothing could step their invasion.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Nightstar stepped out of her cave, looking into the moonlight. She glanced up and thought about what had happened for the past few months. Ever since her cousin Gemini had been demoted queen position, she felt bad like it was her fault. Although she did join Xangor's group and wasn't to show any gratitude feelings towards her, Gemini was still a relative. Night's disappearence had been unknown, and rumors had fly by that she was an important member because of her mind control. A few days ago she heard another rumor that the NightWings were attacking the rogues. Knowing that dwelling in the cave would not help she sighed and lept off, flying into the moonlight and finding her home once again. As she neared into the dark forest, she saw a group of NightWings that seemed prepared for an attack. She flew right above them and hovered in the air wondering if anybody would see her and debating weather she should go down and accidently distract them or should she stay and watch, if anybody needing help she would go to their aid.

Lead screeched in fury, tossing himself about, hooked claws slicing the air and catching anything that was in their reach. His eyes glowed with unfathomable anger and his lips were drawn back in a toothy snarl. Lead lashed out and managed, in his tantrum of spinning claws and teeth, to slit the neck of two of his ambushers. Blood stained his snow white fur and blinded another one of the NightWings, in which Lead took advantage of by kicking it away with his foot. Despite his best efforts, Lead was outnumbered and he was finally detained. He breathed heavily, his sides heaving and each movement growing weaker and weaker. "YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH THIS!! THIS IS OUR HOME!! YOU CAN'T JUST TAKE IT AWAY FROM US AND EXPECT US TO SURRENDER TO YOUR ARMY OF PAMPERED POMPOUS SNOBS!!" Lead roared, bloody saliva flying in strands from his fangs. He went quiet, his eyes a somber blue and a freezing mist flooding from his jaws and nostrils. He glared at Xangor.

(All I gotta say to Leads post, "WE MUST PROTECT THIS HOUSE!")
Pyrrhus thought that the rapid jumping out the hole and swiping their feet would be a good idea, That was until he realized a dragon steps on it and he'd dead. he got out of the hole, Running further away from the oncoming regiment. He ran for his life, going deeper and deeper into the forest until he was deep enough so that it was considerable dark.
He took a rope out of his pack and threw it into the tree, The metal hooks on the end ripping into the trunk as he climbed up. He then shot a rope over to another tree so that he could swing and slash with his sword, And from there, he waited for the next move, always thinking, always planning.

Acer watched the horizon, as the sun fell with it's last breath of light, shrouding the forest in night.
He got up, discarding the antelope skeleton and left it lying on the rock next to his cave.
With the coming of night, he set out into the trees, clad in steel, on his regular evening territory checkup.
Several times had unwanted rogues and creatures come into his area, stealing food and land, so he was forced to patrol the place constantly. After all, he was starting to take a liking to this prey-rich forest and it's dominant dragon population. He grunted, used to the weightlessness of not bearing armour.
He hated night time patrols - His night vision was terrible, and he sometimes almost lost himself in the forest, blinded by the darkness. He gave a light blow of flickering flame to briefly illuminate the area. It was looking pretty clear.
But then his ears twitched towards another part of the forest. He could hear howling, yelling, and fighting sounds.
He crouched down, listening in silence.
Someone was yelling very loudly, something about homes, land and pompous snobs, before
He didn't like the sound of what was happening, and he would prefer to much rather be back at his clearing, rather than in the forest as these attackers were striking down rogues.
He flew upwards, just above the trees, and flew back to his cave, silently waiting, listening.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
A war was rising. I wasn't even knowing this, until I heard a dragon screaming in the distance. A shocking awakening, especaily when it sounded like shattering ice. Lead. I stepped outside of my cave, halting to a stop, listening to the sounds of many dragons below. I ached to fly down and beat the life out of all of them but that would be unwise. I knew I would have to go with another plan.
Running below the forest was something I wasn't great at. I wondered if flying would've been any better, being able to escape from any NightWing grasps before they came. But of course the leader must have troops up in the sky, ready to shoot down at anyone they see. 'God, why are they even invading our newly found territory, don't they have enough of their own!' I pondered, fear seeking into my heart. I kept running, feeling the wind suck the water out of my eyes, I closed them, running through feeling my lungs burn. I could only hope I didn't run into anyone in these dangerous lands.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Xangor disappeared in the dark fog while Lead was struggling for suvival. When the rogue attempted to slit the neck of two NightWings, they easily dodged the attack vanishing into the shadows. In fact the NightWings were smart enough to not face Lead directly, but to ambush the rogue with quick attacks. These troops were indeed very skilled and they had the advantage of the darkness. Xangor growled contented, smirking between the shadows he was hiding. He was indeed preparing the final attack. "Yours are futile efforts and vain hopes" Xangor confidently and calmly spoke, but with badness in his voice. Several shadows claws, summoned by the NightWings, pinned Lead to the ground. "This fight is already over." Xangor coldly concluded before to appear behind Lead, ready to launch his own attack. Xangor wanted to take part of in this fight, though he knew the troops would defeat Lead without his help. This rogue has proved to be particulary arrogant and resistant. Xangor personally wanted to punish and humiliate such a combative opponent. So Xangor breathed his dark flames. The flames surrounded Lead and almost drained away all the rogue's energies, causing fear and pain inside Lead. At this point a new prisoner has been caught. The summoned shadow claws worked as chains. Oculus was going to be very pleased for this success. Xangor gave a look around to take note of eventual wounded NightWings. They were all safe and it looked only a few had some superficial scratches. In the meanwhile Xangor could feel the scent of NightStar. It was good she was here, one of his close followers. Xangor knew she would help him if it was necessary.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Nightstar looked down from the air and saw that her tribemates managed well on their own. No fatal injuries and only some scratches on few. Throughout the battle she managed to find Xangor, the one who convinced her to join him. He was finishing off a rogue, whom she assumed was the leader of the whole thing. Her silver eyes narrowed as she examined the dragon. He seemed to put off a huge fight with himself and Xangor. But of course, Xangor won and she felt proud of him.
As the group assembled again with more unconcious rogues, they seemed to be discussing stuff, Xangor and the new leader Oculus especially. Night assumed now would be the time to let both leaders know that she had returned. Flapping her wings once she flew downwards and landed with a silent sound. She bowed slightly at Oculus and Xangor and silently said, "Oculus, Xangor it's nice to see you both. I'm back home."

Lead, although exhausted and pain ridden, would not let it end this way. Lead let out a high pitched shriek loud and shrill enough to make even the deaf flinch. Icy cold mist rose from his body and suddenly, a beam of bright blue light shot out of his mouth and hit Nightstar. Painfully cold ice glued her feet to the ground and began climbing up the rest of her body and encasing her in ice. He snorted, ice slowly freezing the ground around him and sub-zero temperatures rising from his body. Unfortunately, now, he had no energy to work with, so using any more of his ice would be quite frankly redundant, as the attack would be weak. "Why are you doing this?" Lead growled.

Sly sniffed the air.
Blood.
He expected no less after hearing one roar after another from below. That icewing rogue was caught. Sly saw him before, but never knew what he was capable of. Though now he could conclude how foolish this rogue was to attack the army directly. Alone. With one less defender, and a powerful one it seems, the Nightwings took a tremendous step towards domination.
Sly stepped towards the scene, but quickly backed when he remembered Occulus. Of course. He was the only medic available within the battlefield. His priority was Occulus. Where he went, Sly must follow. That was a stern order. He hated such restriction. What if one of the Nightwings suffered a severe wound that needed urgent medical attention? He could feel helpless.
Unless...just maybe...he could request special permission.
Sly looked down at how his forelegs were fidgeting, in need to investigate and heal any wounds. Perhaps he could never stand seeing his comrades in pain. Perhaps he was bored. No matter what, Sly very much doubt that his presence would have much of a significance. None of the rogues he know could sneak through them and land a devastating blow on Occulus.
Xangor looked as if he was having fun. Perhaps it would be a boring war for Sly...

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Nightstar awaited both Oculus and Xangor's answer. But before that could happen, the dragon that Xangor caught breathed this random blue fire. She knew that she had to get out of the way. The attack nearly missed her as she escaped into the shadows and appeared at Lead's backside. Her claws went down his body, some blood mark trailing. Just then her silvery eyes turned pitch black as she dwelled into his mind, sending torturous images to him. After what she had planned was complete, her own mind returned and started gasping. It had been a while since she had ever done this and Night was a bit tired. As her breathing slowed a scent wafted through her nose, a scent that was definently not a NightWing. She muttered to the group, "I'll be back," and without an answer she took flight again. She searched through the trees and saw the female. black dragon. She was running and she knew she was running from the forest. It would be impossible to get out. Quickly she landed in front of her. Emotions flickered through Night's face, some showing a bit of concern, fustration, and anger. She ask cooly and without passion, "What are you doing here on our lands?"

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
I listened as the battle went on, glad that my kids were with MoonWing right now. I wouldn't know what to do if they were with me. I was to consentrated on running that I didn't notice the dragon above me until she landed. I skidded to a hault, inches away from her, breathing heavily. My attitude changed from scared to mad in a flash after she asked her question. "What makes you think this is your land? We've been here longer than you have, what gives you the rights to this place?" I replied with a growl. Maybe I shouldn't have done that, I didn't know what made this dragon mad, and with everything happening at once my brain couldn't really comprehend what was really going on. I stood in front of a dragon what was taller than me, and who probably helped take down Lead. Yelling at her? Probably a terrible choice. Why I did it? I might not ever know...

Lead screeched in pain and thrashed around, his eyes wide as horrendous images flashed before his eyes. The blood on his wounds had quickly frozen thanks to his sub zero body temperature. Lead dug his hooked claws, that were covered in frost. He grit his teeth and glared at Nightstar. Rage welled up inside him and he wiggled free from the NWs grasp but since he was now so weak, he only fell to the ground again, curling up in pain. He breathed heavily and his body temperature dropped even lower, so it was impossible to touch him without getting a sharp shock of pain. When he saw Areo, he growled. He silently pleaded she'd just run away but at the moment, it certainly didn't seem that way.

Re: The invasion starts (NightWings VS Rogues)
Watching the progression of the takeover, it was pathetically easy. He slightly scolded himself for preparing for a large, dangerous battle. There were just a few weak rogues in the land it seemed, not a giant army of them. Watching as Lead was brought over, and then tilting his head to the side as he attempted to assault another dragon, just watching half amused. Definitely not needed to have brought such a large force if this was all the rogues had to fight with, but at least a message would be sent across the continent of the NightWings power. As Nightstar retaliated to the attack and attacked the pretty helpless Lead, Oculus just rolled his eyes. "Enough, no more antagonizing the vanquished. Their loss in battle is enough," Oculus spoke, finally breaking his silence. "Sly, see to healing the injuries of the troops...oh, and make sure none of the rogues bleed out, don't want the prisoners dead." Walking towards Xangor, Oculus began laying out more orders, "Xangor, see to it that our presence is established along the outskirts of our new territory. I want no one entering the land until we can make it defendable. Also, bring all the captured rogues to that small valley, and keep them under watch." he spoke, pointing to an area that was lower in elevation, giving the guards the advantage of the high ground once the prisoners were brought there. The invasion was progressing smoothly, and not so much as just mere scratches to the troops it seemed.
