The Only One That Can See (Private With Mirage)

Azlvetta was tired at her healing den. She had been in there for days, nothing to do. Nobody was hurt and everybody seemed to be healthy and well. She decided to go to her queen, Sleenia, to ask for permission if she could leave the den and go out into the forest. It took her a few minutes for she was busy with other dragons. Recieving permission to go out and rest, she left her tribe behind. Very few dragons had been joining their tribe, so there were very few gaurdians and trackers. Since Azl still remembered her hunting skills, she decided to hunt, after her nap though. At the bottom of a thick tree trunk she laid there, listening to the calm, quiet forest and the birds chirping their melody. She wondered where her other tribemates were. Azl was tired, bored, and wanted to have some fun with other tribe members. She hoped that more people would have wanted to join. But even of they did, Azl would have to help with the curing more and more people. She decided that both were good and bad choices. She fell asleep, her tail curled around her body, and hoped to dream that dragons would join the LightWings and that she had have the fill of her life.

Mirage was wandering the LightWing jungle like she usually did, doing nothing in particular, and happened to rest upon the healing den. She closed her eyes, enjoying the peace and serenity of her home, when suddenly she heard a noise. Opening one eye, she spotted a LightWing entering her den. Curious, she inspected the dragon. Of course, she couldn't see Mirage, but still, this dragon seemed different. Could she be the one?

Azl woke up to hear a small rustle. She jumped back. Nobody was there except her and after all, she was in someone's den, sleeping. She could have really sworn that she had heard something.. or someone there. She picked up a rock and threw it at the sound at where the rustle had came from. It dropped, obviously showing that nobody was there. She gave up though; she really thought that she could find someone and make a friend. Before she left though, she called out, "Is anybody there?"

Mirage was right in front of Azlvetta's face, but of course Azlvetta couldn't see her. "Hello. My name is Mirage. How are you doing?" she asked, not actually intending to scare her but knowing that for some reason it always gave dragons the creeps when she did it. "You seem different from all the other dragons I've met, you know. I'm thinking you might be the one."

Azlvetta flinced at the warm breath onto her scales. There was still no one there, but there was a sound of a voice and breathing. She stayed at her spot and just looked at where the sound came from. It was a nice, calm, and soothing voice. Mirage, as what she had intoduced to Azl, seemed to be very nice in general. She smiled and looked calmy into the invisible air, "Err.. My name is Azlvetta. Azl, Az, or Vetta is all fine nicknames for me. I'm doing well, just currently bored at my tribe and wanted to rest here. You?" She wasn't that scared of her anymore. Instead, Azl was quiet and nice to everyone, even to invisible dragons.. She listened to her comment, "I might be the one? What? Huh? I'm confused.. And, I know I'm asking like a lot of questions, but how am I different? And, how are you invisible?" Az was now eager to listen to her answers. She hoped that she could make an new even though Mirage was invisible.

Mirage smiled slightly. "How am I invisible? Well, it's complicated. I was kinda... cursed. By Phantom. For being cowardly. I was the first Queen of the LightWings, you know. I had everything I could possibly need and want- beauty, fame, power... A Tribe that loved me and respected me. But in the end... I was weak. I was powerless, cowardly, and selfish. I abandoned my Tribe... abandoned them as they were swept away by the demons of Krashath. Phantom never lets me forget. She cursed me to never again be seen by another dragon... a living mirage, reborn over and over, immortal only to suffer this pain. Kazumi, however, convinced Phantom to forgive. She allowed me to choose one LightWing, one dragon- the only one that can see."

Azlvetta listened curiously to Mirage's story. True, it was weird talking and listening to someone that wasn't actually "there." But Azl was fine, happy to have someone to talk to. It was a bit of a sad story, having Phantom cursing her and stuff, yet Azl felt that Mirage kinda deserved it for abandoning her tribe. She was actually glad that Kazumi spared her. "So, from what I hear, Phantom cursed you and Kazumi forgave you? She let you choose one dragon.. So what you're saying that I might be the only dragon that is able to see you? Well, apart from Phantom, Kazumi, and Shardas." Azl thought that this is what Mirage meant, so she asked another question, "Then, how can do I see you? All I can see is invisible air." She grinned at her new friend.

Mirage grinned back at the LightWing healer. "Well, first there's the multiple-choice quiz. Then you have to take the illusional exam, the interview, and the demon apocolypse test... oh, did I mention that if you fail, you die?"

Azlvetta blinked. Once. Twice. And then like 10 more times. "Wh-wha-what? Test? Are you kidding me? And if I fail I die? Did Kaz and Phan and Shard made this test? They're being too cruel, well except Kaz. But why tests?!?!" She was abolutely shocked. Quizzes, test, interview, and maybe death...

The small LightWing could contain her amusement no longer. Bursting into laughter, she doubled over and, almost falling off of the twig on which she was perched, flailed her silver-gold wings for balance. "It works every time!" Mirage told the Healer gleefully. Calming down, she added, "There's no test, but I do have to make sure you have a few certain qualities."

Azlvetta breathed out in relief. No tests. No tests. She was happy. "Aw, thank goodness. Do not dare trick me like that anymore! That was mean!" Azl grinned at her in her tone full of laughter and relief. "But, what qualities do I need to have exactly?"
