Adjusting to a New World (Open to all)

Ptelea wandered through a thick forest. It was one of the few places untouched by any of the larger monsters roaming Pyrria. Only the smaller creatures that posed a threat to Humans lurked here mostly; every once in a while a bigger one that might give a lesser species a tough time appeared. Ptelea felt safe here. She stopped and looked around. As safe as this forest was, it was also a very lonely place. She had never come across another Dragon in the few weeks she'd been living here. With a sigh, Ptelea flew toward her nest, her lithe body weaving easily through the trees. Her nest was more like a little cave. There were two trees that twisted around each other and formed a sort of tent that was hollow in the center. Ptelea landed and walked inside. There was just enough room for her to move around comfortably. She'd dug a shallow pit in the center of the space to lay down. It was a very simple home, but she didn't mind. Ptelea laid down and rested her head on her paws, peering outside as a light rain began to fall.

(Bump)

Wake was gliding through the air, a good jolt of pain coming from his right wing. It had been two days since the human removed the harpoon from his wing, and whatever the man had rubbed on the wound had worn off.

The wyvern had finally had enough as he landed in a clearing to check the puncture. Wake actually wished he didn't have thick wing leather for a change. It would not have been this painful if his wing was a normal thickness. He also hated that he couldn't really do anything to it. He just wasn't able to crane his neck around.

The forest had one clearing big enough for a Dragon and it was near Ptelea's den. She heard a thud and lifted her head. Had someone decided to make the thick forest their home, too? Or was it a monster? Ptelea eased toward the den's entrance and peered out, looking first left then right. If it were a monster, she'd be fending it off already; the bigger creatures always seemed to know exactly where Dragons were hiding. But that didn't appear to be the case here. So it must be a Dragon, or even a Lesser Species. The mute left her den and started walking in the direction of the clearing. Upon reaching it, she saw a Wyvern. It appeared injured. Slowly, she moved into the clearing, toward the Wyvern.

Wake sat there, in the middle of the clearing, trying to attend to his wound. It would probably a funny thing to watch if it wasn’t for the his injury. Why did it have to be the base of his wing? Then he smelt something.

The wyvern whipped his head around to see another dragon standing there. It smellt like a dragoness, and she seemed to have just had walked up. Wake stares at her for a moment, not sure what to say at first. ”Um... high. If this is your territory, I’m sorry. I just...couldn’t keep flying.”

She was sleeping on a tree, trying to get energy for tomorrow, but something bother her. Its been a year, and she still couldn't find her family, even when she found a clue, it still didnt happen.

She woken up, due to some voices, and then she grew a bit pouty. One of them seemed familiar to her, so she quietly got off the tree to investigate. Hearing the voices better, she smelling the air, two scents covering the air.

She crouched down beside a bush and a rock, seeing the two talking to each other. Should she just walk away, or should she just keep investigating? Curiously, she walked a bit closer, stepping and breaking a twig. Her eyes widen, keeping as still as possible

Ptelea watched as the Wyvern examined its wing. Oh wait... she sniffed the air. A male. He turned and looked at Ptelea, then greeted her and apologized for being there. She walked closer to the Wyvern then stopped and dragged a claw through the softened earth. She wrote: Hello. This isn't my territory, really, so you're welcome to be here. What's wrong with your wing? And then Ptelea heard a twig snap and turned toward the sound. Upon seeing it was a female that was hiding nearby, she tensed and suddenly became hostile, baring her teeth.

Her eyes widen as she jumped back, wings and claws out. She didnt want to fight, for two reasons. One was that she was a hatching, and that she would be beaten at any minute. Second was that she was just curious. She didnt want to fight.

Her ears went down, frighten of the female. Albino saw Wake, and signaled him to help Albino. "Look.....Im not a spy. Im just a hatchling, thats all" She stood still and tensed, hoping that the female wont hurt her

Wake was a little on edge as the dragon approached, his horns flaring like a frill out of fear. Then she stopped. The wyvern gave the dragon, a female by her sent, a curious look as she dug her claw in the dirt.

So this wasn’t her territory, and she wanted to know what happened to his wing. Could she not talk? Either way, Wake’s horns lowered back against his neck before responding. ”A human fishing harpoon.”

Then a snap came into the Sea Spirit’s ears, and his head whipped around to the noise. It was a little hatchling. He watched as the dragoness bore her teeth, and was getting more aggressive. Wake quickly spoke up to her, not wanting a young one to get hurt. ”Hey. It’s just a hatchling.”

Ptelea looked at the Wyvern's wing. A human did that? And here she thought only slaves like her and her brother suffered the wrath of those terrible beings. When the male told her the other female was only a Hatchling, Ptelea calmed down. It just riled her up to be around other females. She turned back to the Wyvern and dragged her claw through the earth once more: I'm sorry. Females just make me nervous... I wouldn't hurt a Hatchling, though. So humans did that to you? Is it not enough what they do to captive born; they have to go after free ones, too?

Wake sighed as she wrote down, more out of being unable to explain why a dragoness would hate other dragonesses than anything else. He then looked at her other writing. His horns went limp before he responded. "Yeah, but Kelarth must love to toy with me, cause one got the harpoon out. I don't know why, but he did."
