Natural Dragon Abilities Empty Natural Dragon Abilities

I understand that we are able to give our dragons some unique abilities, but I'm wondering if there are natural abilities that each species possesses. I hear that FireWings are the only ones who can breathe fire, and that SkyWings can breathe lightning...I'd like to know what they all are! I plan to make a hybrid Fire/EarthWing but it wouldn't hurt to know about each ability.

Did a bit of snooping to see what new topics might explain the powers, and found them in this if you read down enough to each of the tribes.

But basically to give it to you;
FireWings breath fire
IceWings breath ice
EarthWings bear poison
NightWings bear sleeping gas
SkyWings have lightening
LightWings use light
And SeaWings breath water

Although they all also tend to have other abilities, such as the NightWings being able to have perfect night vision and SeaWings being able to breath underwater. I'd say most of the abilities are rather easy to guess as they relate to their names, but skimming through the topic you should be able to find what you need.

Oh! Along with what Aero's already said, hybrid can have one ability from each of the species that make it up, at a strength related to the percentage of the the mixes in the hybrid. For your hybrid, assuming a 50/50 split, you could have either half strength fire or hear resistance, and either half strength acid or poison.

Yes, what Wake said is explained in the guide. So, here's more to the list of natural abilities. And welcome to the site! Smile

EarthWings: Acid and rock breath, manipulation of the earth, venom and toxins, accelerated healing by covering wounds with mud, being able to detect movement underground.

FireWings: Fire breath

IceWings: Ice breath

LightWings: Light beam, changing color of scales to reflect mood and blend into surroundings.

SeaWings: Breathing underwater, water breath

NightWings​: night vision, sleeping gas

SkyWings: Lightning breath, creating strong winds by beating wings fast

Some of these abilities needed to be regulated, especially with the sleeping gas because it might be deemed godmodding or powerplaying if they are to suddenly drop asleep when hit by even a slight whiff of it. You can either propose that character creators need to put it in their apps, allowing slight variations, or edit the lore to describe how these abilities will work in balance with others.
Same goes for the LWs Lightbeam and the SkWs lightning, as both are almost lightspeed attacks that makes dodging impossible.

Question on my part are these abilities inherited from the start? When you make an app, for example a Firewing. Is your one ability you choose Breath fire OR can you breathe fire and choose another fire related ability.

Yes, natural abilities are innate. So when making a FireWing, you automatically have fire breath and then you are able to choose a fire-related ability as your one allowed ability.
