Sly coughed and sputtered...

He had never felt this exhausted. Ever. At least he knew the extent which his fighting abilities could go. Very quickly he heard Baldi speak. So he survived that again? The first things floating in his mind was where did he went wrong. Did his mist expire? Did he aim poorly? Could he have expended his lotus barrage much later? Could thst be his downfall?

None of this mattered anymore. Bottom line was he lost. But Sly was sure he had done a number on Baldi. The king was perhaps one of the most difficult and strongest opponents Sly had come across. But he was unsure if the same could be said from Baldi.

Sly rested his side against the sand. His snout was cramping after wincing too much and too long from the acid burns. Even with Baldi posing the question how much he hurt Sly, Sly could only wait until the pain ceased. He huffed against the sand. Every limb he moved... he felt nothing. That was not good.

My wings... Sly said, his voice very weak. My back... beyond that, it was too much to think. Everything was too dark, and Sly was not sure if he had fallen into a coma and if Baldi heard any of that. He just laid there.

The stars flickered, their reflection shining in the pale blue eyes of the EarthWing monarch. Silence commanded the area since the battle ended, so the NightWing's word s were easy to hear. His wings and back had been hit by Baldirak's acid; he wasn't sure to what extent, however. It seemed Silence had stolen the smaller Dragons voice.  Baldirak said nothing, then, as there was no point. Instead he rested, waiting for morning, that he might be able to assess his own injuries better. Of course, it was a long way to the NightWing tribe from here... If he wanted to deliver Sly to his tribe, then leaving before morning might be better.
