Omichli surfaced, rising from beneath the water, taking slow, vigilant steps on to the sand. He was extremely cautious, despite having been the one to arrange this meeting. Was this a trap? Possibly. Could he die? Possibly. Were the SkyWings going to ambush him and kill him, leaving the SeaWings temporarily leader-less, making them easy an easier target for invasion?

The dragon let out a sigh. Doubt and paranoia had become second nature to him. Relaxation was a thing of the past, what with the constantly growing power of the NightWing empire, which threatened the safety of all the tribes, not just his. Coincidentally, that was the catalyst of this meeting. Omichli feared that a war could soon break out, and knew that his tribe would be quickly wiped out if they remained solitary. Though they indeed possessed a strong military force, the SeaWings were neither large nor powerful enough to combat the NightWings. No tribe was. So, when rumours spread of tribes allying with each other, Omichli decided it was best if he too started forming some alliances.

He had decided that the SkyWings would be their best bet. There had been no recent disputes between the two tribes, and both would largely benefit from this union. He had chosen to come alone, a sign of his peaceful intentions. Whether the SkyWings would do the same, he knew not.

The dragon analyzed his surroundings. Nothing but sand and palm-trees as far as the eye could see. They had decided to meet on a remote island located miles away from the tribes’ respective territories. It was far from the most formal place to have a meeting, but it nonetheless had a quaint air to it. And it was completely neutral, as far as either of them knew. It would have to do.
