A Lively Catch (Private Aari, Adra)

After the incident with Ocean, Ark decided to spend more time with his kids. This time taking Aari and Adra on a hunt around the southern islands. As well as having a good time it would teach Adra the skills for hunting. After a long swim they decided to pause for a rest on a small island. Laying on the beach he nuzzled both of them, smiling he asked "You guys alright? don't worry we will continue soon. I don't want you two tired out already" he chuckled.

Glancing over to Adra the youngest, "Had any thoughts what role you would like for the tribe?" With Aari training to be a healer he wondered what role Adra would like to take, most of his first kids have chosen different roles. Apart from Thirahan who has purposely avoided them, which caused sadness for Arkhor.

((So, she's not gonna discover her powers yet, because... I dunno. Just cause.))

Adra, who had curled up contentedly on the warm sand, her eyes half-closed like a cat's, looked up at her father. "I want to be a healer!" She said brightly, then yawned. "Then I can play with Aari all the time." She paused, tipping her head to the side. "That and I don't want it hurt anybody. Fighting isn't fun if you end up hurt."

Aari wasn't all the tired. She was use to long flights and swims with her father. She rarely left his side. The family took a break on a beach from the long swim and Adra played around in the sand. Arkhor asked Adra what she planned on doing when she grew up and Adra responded with her decision of healer. "Yay!" Aari shouted before nuzzling Adra. "Healing sisters!"

Aari wondered what power Adra inherited from their father. Aari had already found out she had full control over water. She didn't get her fathers healing though so she was having to learn how to heal the same way all the other healers in the tribe do it.

Aari's healing classes where pretty fun but she was considered a very beautiful dragon. She already had guys from different classes hitting on her. She thought it was weird. She couldn't hang around boys her age anymore without things getting all strange. The exception was Dusk, at least she could still have fun with him.

Ark smiled, happy to know she wanted to be a healer like Aari, "Thats great Adra, hey I'm sure you would a great healer like your sister." lowering his snout giving them both a nuzzle. Happy to know that both of them where getting along, then again Aari was happy to be in a family. Ark was amazed how fast she has grown, in some ways reminding him of her mother. Feeling a slight pain in his heart, soon she would the same age when he met Trinyah. As he flickered his tail he chuckled "Hey you guys ready to catch some juicy fish? Nothing beats fresh" as he stroked them both with his paw.

He also did wonder what power Adra obtained from her parents, since his kids all had different powers. It did make him curious, with Aari having her fathers power of controlling water, which was incredibly powerful mixed with her ice powers.

"Yeah!" She replied, jumping up and down in excitement. "Healing sisters! We'll be the best in Pyyria!" She returned Aari's nuzzle. When Arkhor lowered his head, she turned, nuzzling him as well. "Everybody will come to us when they're hurt or sick!"
At the mention of fish, however, Adra completely switched perspectives. "Fish!" She squealed, turning and darting towards the water, her wings spreading out slightly.

"Yay fish!" Aari shouted jumping into the water, but she didn't hit water she smacked right into ice. "Oowwww." Aari moaned as the water around her froze into a a decent sized ice platform large enough to hold herself daddy and Adra. Probably not strong enough though. Aari knew she made things around her colder. It wasn't something she tried to do it just happened. She also knew the more emotional it got the stronger it was and while she was excited she thought she had learned to control it enough not to cause this. Aari ran across the ice trying to reach and dive into the water but everywhere she went the water froze. Arkhor and Adra would be able to stand on the ice platform very well since they didn't have claws adapted for gripping to ice. "Daddy I can't get in." Aari whined.

Ark smiled happily with both of them excited, as both Adra and Aari darted off into the Ocean, pulling himself onto his feet heading to follow, he saw Aari smack herself against ice, Ark gasped and ran up to her. Almost sliding on the ice he managed to stop himself next to her, "Hey... Its alright" as he stroked her head, "Remember to control your emotions, don't worry about it either. One day you will be strong... maybe even stronger than me" he smiled, suddenly the ice began to crack underneath them. Swiftly Ark melted the water allowing them to fall slowly into the cold waters.

As they grouped up, he smiled "Alright... guys see if you can spot a group of fish" deciding to make it like a game, he knew there where many schools of tuna nearby. So spotting them wouldn't be a problem. "Catch and eat as much as you want too, we can spend the night on one of the islands if you want"

Being smaller than Aari, Adra found herself at the water after her, and yelped she found herself on ice, and sliding forward. She snapped open her wings, flying away from it and circling above as she watched Arkhor check on, speak with, and comfort Aari. She couldn't hear much of it between waves and wind, however.

When the ice was melted, Adra did a little spin and dove Ito the water, her sings providing water resistance so she didn't smash into the ocean's floor. She turned, popping her head above the water, and listening to Arkhor lay out the game plan. "Aye, aye!" She replied when he'd finished. "I'll eat every fish in the ocean!" Upon that note, she turned and dove once more seeing clearly in the water as she cast about for any sign of fish.

"No body is stronger than you daddy." Aari said not believing for a second she could ever possibly be stronger than her dad. Suddenly the ice below her began cracking and melting away which freaked Aari out even though she knew there was water right below her. Sinking her claws deep into the ice Aari was left with a small patch of ice as small as she was. Due to her weight though she ended up flipping upside right into the ocean.

Arkhor told the two to find a group of fish and eat as much as they want which Aari would gladly do. There was no way she was going to catch as many fish as her sister though. Aari hadn't been born with any fins or anything adapted for swimming. She was glad she could at least breath in the water. Aari had developed her own way of swimming. She kept her wings and legs tucked in close and wiggled around like an eel in the ocean. Aari had caught a few fish but was upset with how long it was taking her. Thats when an idea struck her. She could use her powers to try and catch something. First Aari tried pulling fish to her or containing them in a ball of water but none of those worked. Since they were surrounded by water the fish always slipped out. She eventually came up with an effective technique. Within a small controlled ball of water around a fish and Aari would make the fish spin really fast stunning the crap out of it. She'd then swim up and snatch it in her jaws. Repeating this process Aari found herself eating more than she could hold. "I can't eat anymore" Aari said moaning of stomach pain after swimming up to him

Ark watched as they both chased after some nearby fish, Noticing that Aari was struggling slightly due to not having enough speed, but soon enough she figured out a way to catch them, this made him proud, no doubt she would be a great healer in the near future. It wasn't long before Aari returned to his side, as she let out a moan he chuckled "That was quick... you've done well" as he stroked her head with his paw. Glancing back over to Adra, she seemed to alright as she zipped around.

Taking a brief moment he also decided to catch some tuna nearby making sure he had hes fill. Not taking too long he returned back to Aari's side.

Adra hadn't been born with fins either, and so used the method she'd been using since she'd first swam, a combination of using her wings as propellers and her tail as a rudder. It was almost like flying, though diving almost completely relied on her tail. Due to this, Adra had rather well-toned tail and wing muscles for an eight year old hatchling. Within a few minutes Adra had caught five fish, which was usually the most she could down, despite her exclamation that she would eat the entire ocean. Remembering what she said, though, Adra ate one more than usual, feeling slightly sick as she made her way back to her sister and father. The sick feeling, however, faded quickly, as all physical ailments tended to with her. She didn't notice.

When Aari returned to Arkhor he greeted her with compliments and other loving attention to which she purred to. There wasn't anyone happier in the world right now. Her stomach was full a little too much so but just touching Ark made his healing power make her feel better. She was also getting loving attention from Ark so she wanted this moment to last forever.

Ark smiled as Adra returned, happy to see she was full. Glancing up towards the surface he saw an orange glow reflect from the horizon. Realizing it was dusk, gasping slightly he couldn't believe how fast time had gone, "Wow.. its getting late, did you two want to stay out here for the night?" he asked, since they where quite far out to the south, it did make sense to stop the night ready for the morning. Smirking he tapped them both with the tip of his tail, awaiting for their response.
