Background

History: Malliath was the first and only son born to Akatosh and Draconia, king and queen of Drakim. He would be their rightful heir to the throne, so they learned him everything they knew. They learned him to fight for a king should be able to protect his kingdom and they taught him skills to rule it. The first fifty years of his life Malliath was busy learning and increasing his skills in both battle and flight. In Drakim Kings got only replaced when they died, this could happen of old age but usual a challenger would kill the king in order to become one. Malliath was blinded by greed and couldn't wait for his father to die, so he challenged him, the winner would get the crown. Akatosh, being more experienced than his son, defeated Malliath and sent his son away in exile. Malliath was forced to live the rest of his life as rogue with no home, traveling around. For almost forty years he lived a lone life but that came to an end when he came across a land ruled by a old king, who called himself Aegorn. Malliath took his chance and challenged the king. After a three hours the fight came to an end with the old king as loser. Both dragon were hurt badly, the old king managed to get away but died later because of his wounds. It was then Malliath's reign of terror began, for decades he ruled the land with a iron 'claw' and without mercy, killing those against him. Many had tried to take the king's throne but none succeeded.

Years later three brothers showed up to claim the kings throne. The fight was brutal and the king lost for the three brothers used a power unknown to him. They used some kind of black smoke, and at that moment Mall did not know what it was and did not bother to avoid it. During the fight Mall got weaker and tired and eventually he was forced to give up. He managed to get away from the battle and somehow he made back to his lair where he fell into a deep sleep. Malliath appeared to be in some kind of hibernate for he slept for decades. During his slumber two of the three brothers moved Mall to a volcano elsewhere. Why they didn't kill him, Malliath does not know but he still think it was there biggest mistake not to. The red dragon now awakes in his new home, angry, hungry and wanting nothing but revenge.

Your background story reminds me of a story i made up for purple dragons (cause... well purple is really rare in dragons in my opinion) while the other purple dragons (like myself) wanted peace the first two were power hungry and what you said
