Star in the Twilight (To those Invited) Empty Star in the Twilight (To those Invited)

Post by Attor Sat Jul 15, 2017 8:36 pm

"Finally we are here!" A large dragon said, brandishing yellow and green scales. He landed to the side of the gate of the Twilight Imperium, "Do I need tp really blend in? Im bloody LightWing!"

"You are also Earthwing if you remember Elvjorn, your size and scales will make you fit in." A insect-like dragon answered back, using the stinger on his tail to turn the large apothecary from his back to his chest. Around the neck he wore a talisman od luck, with, of course, the Yellow Moonstone he found in a scouting run within an old mine. His scales turned to more natural plating of greens and blues and purples as he grew older, and his wings of two pairs were yellow, looking identical, if not spot on like an insects.

This was Attor, sovereign of both LightWing and SkyWing tribes, which eventually merged into the Order of Starlights. He had traveled all of the way from the homeland to enemy, or potential ally territory in search of a rare plant. Three weeks Attor had found the Light Fang, an endangered plant and asked for the aid of the guardians to help spread the seeds so that all could eventually enjoy them. He was in search of a cactus, believe it or not, but certain kind called, "The Prickly Pear."
The king needed to grow it in his land so wineries can brew with it, plus, to him the raw taste of the fruit was stupendous, and he wanted more., but the merchants came from the FireWings in which he traveled to the Imperium, hearing that three, Fire Night and Earth tribes had joined togetogether.

And now it was down to this, instead of sending messengers or scouts to fetch a stick(like most kings do), Attor came himself but not alone, not wanting to risk the other sovereign's discovering a different king in their kingdom. Sadly Attor couldn't make friends, but perhaps pleasantries?

The pair passed through the gate, the guards halting them, but Attor confirmed they were Earthwings. It was true, but they weren't apart of the tribe, but after a little convincing the guards, now annoyed, let them pass through and into the streets.
This was big, the Imperium, Attor had never seen a city of this size, nor had he seen the amount of mixed dragons in the streets. There was the Order, but it was only half of what was the size of the Imperium. As thr two walked through the streets eventually they walked into the marketplace, shops of various kinds decorated the sides and had a creative marvel about them, booth and building.

It was the aspect of being a merchant that Attor missed his Apothecary sometimes, but he had duties to attend back at home, but he could visit awhile couldn't he?

Star in the Twilight (To those Invited) Empty Re: Star in the Twilight (To those Invited)

The Twilight King was walking through the center of the city. As usual, to his mate's displeasure, he only had two Royal Guards with him: the twins. Baldirak was here for a couple reasons: to find a place to raise a memorial for those who had died protecting and reclaiming the EarthWing territory, and to take care of the more trivial matters that Kenina didn't want to be bothered with. His first stop was a dispute between a FireWing and NightWing Citizen. Both wanted the same location for their den. The King suggested they expand the den then split it in half with a wall.

After that it was on to a fight between to EarthWing males who were interested in the same NightWing female. But before he could get there, Baldirak felt something in the earth. A series of tremors. Granted, there were tons of them; a lot of Dragons were walking around, of course. But the one that caught his attention was familiar. He had felt it before and knew exactly who it belonged to. "Attor? What is the SkyWing King doing here?" Baldirak wondered to himself as he looked around. His pale eyes saw nothing right away, but he didn't really need to see. He followed the tremors, going where they felt the strongest.

Attors nostrils were caught by a wanderful scent, cooked meat. He jerked his head to the side as his guard stopped and looked about, since he was bigger than the SkyWing he could see what Attor could no. Elvjorn spotted a shop selling meats of proportionate size.

"I found the shop," Elvjorn said to Attor and lead the king to the building, "Smells like fish. If they have meats like that there's no doubt they are selling whale, perhaps even clam."

"Sounds delightful," Attor replied, following closly with the hybrid guard, "Haven't had sea food in a good while, Im in high hopes prices aren't too high." Attor wasn't cheap, however he usually carried light amounts of money for small purchases, if something was too much then he would either leave it alone or borrow and pay back his guards. Attor usually got what he wanted.

The two approached the open shop and greeted the butcher.
"This is all fresh," The dragon said, lifting a hooked shark, "All are freshly caught and cooked, and at a reasonable price. Why catch something so difficult like a deer when you can get something to-go at the table for you and yoyour loved ones?"

"I couldn't agree more, I would actually take the shark you hold," Attor replied with a smile and added, "If you could cook it and season it that would be great, something a little burning to the taste please."

The NightWing smiled and tossed the large fish to another red dragon, giving it the order. The FireWing, if thats what it was, cut off the skin and fat from the fish and cleaned it, slicing away the meat and tossing the remains into a large furnace, then closed the hatch. She would breatfia low fire, adding seasonings appropriate for a spicy taste, and as it was finished she handed the fish fillet tp the NightWing.

The black dragon presented the shark and demanded a hefty sixty coins for it, which tp Attor was no problem at all, and he even tipped the NightWing and FireWing for their kindness.

"Please do come again sir!" The NightWing said aloud as both king and companion walked away. Inevitably though, they would walk to the direction of the Earth King Baldirak Sapiens without any notice.

((FireWings developed currency, and with the merge the EWs and NWs might have adopted that, but I don't think the other Tribes would be familiar with the concept. Also... why do you have my Tribe seasoning, cooking and selling meat like some fast food joint? What are we, Humans? xD Cooked meat is saved for gatherings for those random few who for some strange reason hate raw meat.))

The tremors were strong enough now to start irritating his right forepaw. Baldirak stopped again and looked around. The tremors he sought were in front of him... There! He spotted the insectoid-looking Dragon that was the SkyWing leader. "Greetings, Child of the Sky." the Twilight King called as he approached Attor and the EarthWing Guardian with him. "Thank you for escorting him through the city, but why did you not send for me? I could have met him at the border and brought him here myself," he inquired of the EarthWing. "Tell me, Attor, what brings you here?"

By now, everyone near had heard the King address the strange-looking EarthWing as the leader of the SkyWings. They stopped and grew quiet for a moment before murmuring to one another.

((With Currency I do not see why it is only isolated with certain tribes. Like there's trade and such but I thought it was a thing all tribes had. And with the seasoning and cooking I think that (perhaps) there could just be that one place that like weird tastes resteraunts and such like the mind set I had was some tribes had certain aspects of what humans used. Like seasoning and cooking. Which I understand, dragons are weird and s**t. God we ruin everything XD But anyhow, I was wandering if I could make am exception to this rp?))

Elvjorn froze as he saw the Earth King and immediately bowed as the voice called to Attor. The dragon looked around before spotting a... Rather large dragon heading towards them? With Elvjorn bowing... Oh no. Attor thought he was going to get crushed as Valcroaza, a Rogue Hybrid General, had attempted to do. Attor won only because that dragon was arrogant and slow, but he still took a lot of damage.
Attor dipped his head and bowed, amd raised back up realising this was Baldirak Sapiens, not another religious lunatic. He mentally sighed and eased the now tense body, smiling up at the big dragon. He was in front of Baldirak Sapiens, THE EarthWing King, his influence to ruling. Okay that was partially true, ot was Attors old wife, but his attitude took off from the big king himself, hearing rumors of selflessness amd caring nature for his dragons encouraged Attor to continue being king. That, of the three leaders of the Imperium, was the only other king he knew besides the previous SkyWing.

"Forgive me sire, but after the guards let him through I meant to come grab you, but I didn't want to leave him alone. Once he got some sort of plant thing I was going to lead him to you, your highness." Elvjorn replied as he stood strait up amd stiffened, if he were human he would definitively be sweating.

Finally, both Earth and Sky Kings meet face to face, and luckily not in battle either. Attor replied in a calmed and happy tone as if it was a lovely day, which it was, "Baldirak Sapiens, it is quite the honor to be in your presence. I come in search for a living object, sadly its kind is not in my land. A plant. But, if you wish for me to leave immediately I can, I trully mean no harm and I am quite fond of you."

Attor was not sucking up to the king, his tone nor gestures showed no sign of it, and he never would do so. Attor was not for bending to a will nor was he afraid of others simply due to their size, but he was literally surrounded by Fire, Night, amd Earth Dragons... Wjo were staring and murmuring... The last thing he needs is a hit squad coming after him. If the rumors were correct the last thing he needed, no, thing he did NOT need was the other two leaders interrogating him. Attor heard that Kinina Fire Queen was authoritative and much a hothead, whilst Tenebris Night King was cold, calculative and did everything to get under the skin and scales, then the flesh. Those were just rumors right?

Star in the Twilight (To those Invited) Empty Re: Star in the Twilight (To those Invited)

Post by Baldirak Sapiens Draco Sun Jul 23, 2017 7:54 am

((Well like I said, FireWings developed currency, but there weren't exactly any topics with them using it (blame Kenina).  The other tribes most likely wouldn't. The SeaWing spend most of their time underwater, so how would they learn about it? LightWing and SkyWing are on a neighboring contient but too busy worrying about each other to care about what's going on with the other tribes. And IceWings have consistently been without a decent leader to keep them organized, so they don't care about anyone else either. Now with the merge, NW and EW would be exposed to it and start using it. Only way the other tribes would is to have quite a few visiting the Imperium, learning about currency, then returning to their tribes and telling others about it. Eventually it would reach the leader and maybe they decide to see for themselves and if they like the concept, integrate it into their own tribe. But considering the lack of info about currency, I don't think we ought to use it in rp right now. As for the fast food cooked meat place.... Noo. If an individual wants cooked meat they can make it themselves, I don't want a trader that goes around selling it to the few that actually likes it. Next thing you know everyone will be eating it. We're Dragons! We hunt, kill, and eat. We don't stop at a vendor to buy cooked seasoned meat to take home to our family because we're too lazy to hunt and don't like raw meat. Razz If you want the Order adopting certain human traits like that, go right ahead, but don't go putting them in my tribe.))

Star in the Twilight (To those Invited) Empty Re: Star in the Twilight (To those Invited)

Post by Baldirak Sapiens Draco Sun Jul 23, 2017 1:49 pm

((It's alright. You can trade something for the meat and cook it yourself later.))

"You were right to remain with him, EarthWing," Baldirak replied to Elvjorn after hearing his explanation. "Of course you could have also sent another for me as well." The Twilight King then turned his gaze to Attor and dipped his head. "Sapiens Draco, actually. But please, just Baldirak. The honor of having you in Twilight Spire is mine." He listened curiously as Attor told why he had come. When he finished, Baldirak turned around and motioned with a flick of his tail for Attor to follow him as he took to the air and flew back to the palace.

Arriving at the earthen palace, Baldirak landed and walked--with full pressure on his right foreleg--inside. He led the SkyWing leader to the Boulder Wing. The Boulder Wing was dedicated to EarthWing history and housed Baldirak and Kenina's den. At the end of the wing was a small library full of EarthWing scrolls. Scrolls on healing, tribe history, myths and legends, etc. Some had been salvaged from the ruins while others were new, written by Baldirak himself. It was to this library that Baldirak brought Attor.

The room itself was nothing special. It was quite plain; the only noteworthy thing about it were the white Moonstones on the walls. In the evening, a patterned hole in the ceiling allowed the Moonstones to charge. The King sat in the middle of the room. Because there weren't enough scrolls to bother with a proper display--and also to protect a few fragile ones--they were kept in a simple earthen box. The box was in front of the EarthWing. "Perhaps we can find something about the plant you seek here."

Star in the Twilight (To those Invited) Empty Re: Star in the Twilight (To those Invited)

Post by Attor Fri Jul 28, 2017 8:45 pm

As they entered the Earthen Palace Attor was astonished by its size, of course EarthWings will build structure to their size but this was insane! He was led through into a room full of scrolls, nothing fancy like rooms in the Sky and Light Kingdoms, it was just plain. The dragon looked to the box as Baldirak opened it, curious like a child would, Attor was excited but kept that to himself. After the EarthWing spoke Attor nodded and said, "Something called a 'Prickly Pear Cactus,' apparently thats what those humans called it. After we raided a nearby village I was brought one and tried it fir myself. A dragon hunter described it for me and he in the end died. The fruit alone is delicious, and I planned on growing an entire patch myself, trade it fir different resources to other tribes like the EarthWIngs for example." Admittedly Attor had a mouth, however even with fruit he could possibly bring in different ones to grow and extend trading. Having a resource no one else did had its advantages and it made trade more worthwhile. He didn't know whi would want a fruit for another recourse, the original ideal was to make fine wine out of the juice and di trade for celebrations that way. But there could be other uses. To Attor, there were many uses to many things and Attor thought of adopting them in a creative way, perhaps that is how the yellow moonstone found him, it sought him out.

"A... cactus?" A low, hissing growl was emitted from the Twilight King's maw. He was trying to figure out what that could be. Prickly pear cactus? Prickly... Baldirak reached into the box with his tail, gingerly wrapping the end of a scroll and lifting it out. He opened it with just as much care, even though it was not a particularly old one, and looked at what was written there. "The Fire Fruit. It bears spines of various lengths and covered further in a thin layer of smaller ones that are very difficult to remove from flesh. They cause great pain until removed. Perhaps this is what the Humans call a cactus?"

Star in the Twilight (To those Invited) Empty Re: Star in the Twilight (To those Invited)

Post by Attor Thu Aug 03, 2017 12:13 pm

Attor flinched slightly at the growl of the King. It was either confusion of the name or the fact it had to do with humans. All he did was remain silent whilst the King spoke of a Fire Plant of sorts, matching the desciption of the plants Attor and his Guardians could not save from the colder weathers of the IceWing borders. Had any other tribe knew the Order of Starlights were breaching the IceWing territory for any information regarding anything with that particular tribe there would definitly be hell to pay. However he was lucky his mouth wasn't all that big, otherwise Attor would have given his chances of doing something new away. What was it? He'd never tell.

"Yes... sorry for using the human phrase, my good King. Its the only thing I could really call of it. Is there any information regarding where it is growing or sold at? Forgive me jumping into business." Attor was wanting the fruit, not badly but he was determined to get it one way or another, even if it took hundreds of years. His reason for a delicacy was one of few, another reason was he was wanting this plant, like many others, was so there was a greater variety in his kingdom than any other. He was wanting to make the Order a jewel to behold, a place for peace and harmony where all dragons of many types and histories could come to relax and live out their lives in honest work and easy living with others. A utopia of sorts.

However the ideal was hanging on a thread, Attor saw there was much bad and corruption one can partake in with relative ease, as well as the good will and compassion of another. It is why his borders were closed from land and sea dragons not of the Order, it was why he constantly had guardians out and about constantly to direct sky dragons the other direction, or escort them or even threaten them to go around the border. The Sky King was afraid. Afraid with what the outside world could do if he was only taking it easily. He needed to be rough with it, needed to adapt and consume what it had to offer, then filter it out and understand it so he does not lose himself to that same bad and corruption.

The pale eyes of the King caught the quick movement of the smaller monarch. He had flinched. Because of his growl, perhaps? Baldirak ignored it and focused on what Attor was saying. "I am... capable of letting words associated with that vile race cross my tongue. There is no need to apologize." Baldirak returned the scroll to the box and sealed it back up. "The Fire Plant grows in the deserts. You may find different species depending on where you go. The NightWing desert is much more dry and there is little sand. The EarthWing desert, in comparison, is covered in it. Dunes stretch as far as the eye can see. It also sees more rain. But the Fire Plant is only found in the Oasis, because the ground is solid. I heard rumor of... human settlement in the Oasis. If you go there, go with caution, though I doubt they would have any significant numbers in such a climate. The NightWings would have a much greater concentration of the Fire Plant."
