Only Human? (Open to all)

Wake had a headache. He could've sworn that something hit him upside the head, cause it was pounding. It felt like the ground was rocking. Come to think about it, the ground felt like wood? Wake then realize there was cloth on his body, and something didn't feel right. Wake finally open his eyes to see a deck. A ship's deck? He then got ready to get up, but his wing felt strange. Then he placed his claw.... What? A human hand?! Wake finally looked at himself, finally noticing what had happened. He was a human!

A man the came up to him. "You ok, son? Bad dream or something?" The man sounded like his dad. What the heck was going on? He just looked at the man. "Um... yeah," Wake answered lying to the man's face. He just seemed to smile. "Good. We'll be at Brysur soon. Go enjoy yourself when we get there. Not much to unload today." Wake could smell fish, and guessed he was on a fishing boat.

When the boat docked, Wake nervously walked the streets. He learned he had a pair of hook-like swords, known to humans as a Khopesh, and that the man was his father, but as a human. His brain hurt just trying to wrap his head around this.

What on Pyrrai happened?

"Lori," Yorik spoke to his daughter, pounding a mighty smithing hammer onto steaming hot metal. His blonde-haired daughter looked back from a canvas she was working on. She was oil painting, and had begun with the darkest shades as needed. The young adult blinked innocently. "Yes?"

"I just saw a boat sail in," her parent reported. They were at a small smithy, with the docks merely a few leagues off. Lori could tell Yorik had been keeping an eye on it for a while, hoping for newcomers who could buy their goods.

"Yep." Lori nodded. She had seen the ship from the corner of her eye, but kept her attention on her art. Before Yorik can say anything else, the girl sighed. "Don't worry, Pa. I'm on it." With that, she stood up and began walking to the docks. She knew that her father would want to see if they would be willing to do business anyway. Yorik didn't have to inform his child, as Lori was used to it. She approached just in time to see a human walk out.

"Hi!" She drew near to him in a steady gallop. The guy looked befuddled. "You lost? Or is it just your first time here?"

Wake looked up at the person who spoke to him. It was a human female. She asked if he was lost. What did he say? He was lost, but maybe this him knew where he was. Dang, this was confusing! He finally figured out an answer. "Um.... No. Just thinking." He didn't sound confident, but it was something.

Lori didn't quite believe the guy, but decided not to brag it. It wasn't her job to go around putting her nose in other people's business, so she decided not to pry. Maybe that was best. . . After all, he looked dazed. Perhaps it was personal stuff.

"Oh, okay." The blonde-haired adult nodded. "Well, in any case, welcome to Brysur!"

Wake looked at the woman, still worried about what was going on. She at least seemed nice enough, but she was still a human. Yes, Wake knew he was a human right now, but that didn't help. He then looked at her, trying to figure out what say. How do you talk to a human? "Uh. Thanks. So, what is there to do here?"

The Pride of Kryo was back in Brysur. Unlike last time where he visited the city for supplies, the warrior assassin was here for a job. And he had just completed it. Svadilfare lowered the body of his target onto the floor then removed the jewel-encrusted ring she wore. A ring. Such a trivial thing to be killed for, but it wasn't that she stole it, rather who she stole it from. The ring belonged to a noble in Antrhopinos. The house he stood in was very simple and barely anything filled it; only the essentials: a hearth, a bed, a small table. It was no wonder the poor woman had stolen an item that was sure to fetch her a considerable amount of coin. The Kryoan felt sorry for having killed her... but it was too late now to spare her life and trade the ring for coin.

Svadilfare stepped out of the small house, closing the door behind him. As luck would have it, the house wasn't on the more busy streets of Brysur, so the assassin didn't have to worry about being seen. But he suspected the women probably didn't have many visitors or any family, so he doubted it would have mattered if he had been the last one seen near the house. Now that his job was done, he would travel back to Anthropinos to collect his payment. First, he wanted to get a few provisions and visit a blacksmith; he considered having something made to hold his Moonstone.

Svadilfare moved through the streets of Brysur, swiftly weaving through crowds, squeezing past large carts filled with fish. Soon he could hear the sound of a hammer colliding with metal and the blacksmith forge came into view. There were two people standing in front of it: a girl who was likely the daughter of the smith, judging by how she looked, and a man who looked really confused, as if he'd woken up and found he wasn't where he'd fallen asleep. Svadilfare walked by them and up to the blacksmith. "Could you make something to hold a jewel? Like what the noble women have so they can wear their riches around their necks."

Wake turned to see the man that approached, his sight making the dragon-turned-human take a few steps away from him. This guy looked like a fighter, and if he found out Wake was really a dragon.... He really didn't want to think about it. Then he heard the guy wanted a necklace for a jewel? He didn't know if it was normal for a human to wear a jewel, but he was more concerned about not being found out at the moment.

Whoa dude, this guy really looked puzzled. He stammered quite a bit too, so whatever was the matter was probably wasn't just something mere. "Well, there's some art classes you can take sometimes. . . And also some pretty delicious bakeries to try. Oh! I also recommend seeing the ducks. They're pretty cute."

Yorik looked up meekly at the man who approached. "I believe we do," he replied, nodding. However, he didn't want to leave his forge unattended while he went to search. "Lori, can you go get those jewel-holding necklace thingies?" His blonde-haired daughter glanced in his direction, nodding. Giving her new acquantice an apologetic look, she went to get a box by the forge and brought it up to her dad's customer. There was an array of the jewelry, in various metals like gold, silver, bronze, obsidian, and even toughened glass. "Here. Is this what you need?" She glanced up at the guy with a friendly smile.

Svadilfare waited while the blacksmith had his daughter get what he wanted. He smiled at the girl then looked through the box. The obsidian appealed to him the most, so he took that one and handed the girl some coins. "Thank you, Miss." he said before taking out the Moonstone and fitting it in the jewel holder thing. When he was satisfied that the Moonstone wouldn't fall out, he put it around his neck and slipped the stone into his shirt. As he turned to leave, he noticed the other man looking at him as if he were afraid. "Is something wrong?" he asked.

Wake just looked at the woman. What in the world is a bakery? At least he new what art and ducks were. Then he watched as her father called her over. She got some pieces out for that man, the one in armor. He then saw the stone he was talking about.

A MOONSTONE!!! How did a human get a moonstone? Then the man walked up to him, and the once dragon tensed up. He asked Wake if something was wrong, and the confused dragon/human froze. What should he say? "I...um...no. I'm...I'm fine."
