The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
It was late morning, roughly around 9 a.m. As a densely packed spruce forest at the base of the mountain rang was teeming with life. From birds scouring for grub or calling out to their mates. Deer in small herd's take leisure eating grass and clover's by the river's edge that comes from the top's of the mountains in layers of small waterfall's. This side of the mountain range face's towards the crystal sea's. As well as where most human village's, town's, and cites still reside within the neutral boundary's. With dew still clinging to greenery at this hour and dark sky's looming above, threatening to rain down any moment with it's grumbling thunder. Active prey animals and predator's alike were already beginning to seek out shelter before the storm.
Whereas a lone dragon soaks on the edge of a oxbow pond beside the river. Which is basically just a old section of the river that got cut off by sandbar's. Or in this case. "Mudbar's". As the slimy coated dragon rang 15 ft long from head to tip of her tail. But most of it was hidden beneath the murky water's. The only part of her above water was her head. Resting at the bank of the pond. Seemingly enjoying a nap. But she never is a heavy sleeper. Those whisker sprawled out on the dry land and attached to the underlining part of her jaw are used to sense vibrations in the ground. Warning her of nearby creatures and size from a good distance. But the only warning she'd get from the sky is through her hearing. Which is currently covered up and partly muffled by her head fins that have flattened at the side's of her neck. There wan't any items around her that would make it appear she is carrying belongings. So just what exactly is this fairly small dragon doing by her lonesome out here?

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
A second solitary dragon was walking along the riverbank, seeming totally unconcerned by the threatening storm.
This dragoness was silver and very slender, but with unusually large wings. She stood at about 10 feet tall and roughly 30 feet long. Aside from her claws and two small horns on her head; her body had no sharp points, fins or other adornments. Her movements were lazy and graceful, she swished her tail merrily as she walked. Her footsteps were light and she moved as if she was constantly on a catwalk, or perhaps as if she was a dragon who secretly desired to be a showpony.
She held a long golden spear casually tucked under her right wing, pressed tight against her body.
Her path would take this dragoness within ten metres of the other dragonesque creature, but the silver's wandering gaze had not yet picked up on the still form lying mostly in the calm waters. She was looking up at the sky, idly watching the storm gather, and shooting occasional glances out to the horizon, just in case danger approached or something interesting was happening somewhere.

Despite being light on her feet, the once resting dragon would begin to twitch her fin's just a smidgen as she began to feel distant vibration's from the earth beneath her whisker's. Indicating something was drawing near. With eye's who glimmer at the smallest bit's of light beginning to flutter open. It wouldn't take long before they caught sight of a silvery being in the distance from the corner of her eye. She could tell they were not paying attention so merely watched a few more seconds until her eye's adjust and realize it's another dragon.
Worried it may be hostile like some previous encounter's, the dragon begins to slowly push backwards. Deeper into the murky water. Causing ripples and stirring up the mud beneath as her head makes a tiny "plop" like a alligator sinking beneath the water. As she does the same to hopefully avoid detection. When in water her skin can absorb oxygen like a frog. Allowing her to be able to stay under the water long. As she goes down farther and farther with her fin flat against her body. Til she was nearly entirely invisible from the surface. The only thing giver her away was just the small hint's of white and bright orange just barely showing through the thick muddy water. If that dragon didn't see nor hear anything from where she's at, as she would hope. She guesses they'll just walk on by and leave her alone. Attention is the last thing this dragon wants.

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
The dragoness' name was Imperia, and she might have passed by the water without noticing anything, but subtle movement and a soft sound caught her attention.
Instantly her wind magic reached out lightly, brushing over the surface of the pond like a gentle breeze. Her magic brought Imperia the shapes of ripples, as if something had moved under the water. She frowned. How unusual.
She approached the edge of the water and spotted an imprint in the muddy bank. Some object, or maybe a creature, had been resting here.
Imperia casually adjusted her grip on her spear, ready to strike if a monster leapt out of the water and tried to eat her.
Her body was tense and she was prepared to dart into the air the moment something went wrong.
There was something down there... something brightly coloured was visible through the mud. Imperia's curiosity was tempted. She needed to investigate this odd thing further. The colour was interesting. Even if it was just some sort of big fish she wanted to look at it. Maybe she could have it for her lunch.

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
At first the dragon believed she was safe and undetected until a shadow loomed above the surface. Tension rises as she can't tell wether or not it actually can see her beneath the water. But the longer it began to just stand there. She finally decided to slink deeper in the water. Causing the brighter color's to begin shift and growing harder to spot as more mud was mix into the water. Due to the dragon beneath digging it's webbed into the muck in order to scoot backwards.
The Koi dragon obviously not very fast since it trying to be sneaky. Which as it turns out, she was failing miserably at. But if that dark figure above decides to lash out to grab her. Her only tactic would be to bite whatever comes her way. But she made no motion that showed she was going to attack. It is to be mention that she is not very well mannered or tame among dragon kin. As she grown up in the wild alone. The only way she learned how to do things like speaking is by listening in on other talking. An even that as of now is still rusty at best. She only knows of simple words and what they mean. But she very observant and smart. So it wouldn't take long for her to learn how.

Imperia continued to stare into the water, to any passerby she might have looked like she'd dropped something in the mud and didn't want to get dirty trying to fetch it.
The shape seemed to have noticed her silhouette against the sky, or something like that, it pressed itself down into the pool, while also sending up a plume of mud. Imperia guessed from the size of the plume that the creature was about 10 feet long. She no longer felt so fearful of it.

But so long as she didn't leave nor move. The being in the pond doesn't attempt to move anymore unless threatened. Her eye's just quietly watching the water surface. As tiny bubble leave from the tip of her mouth. Popping at the surface. She can last hours under the water just from her skin absorbing alone. So staying under was no problem.

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
Soulcry, the 13 ft tall transparent, glowing auric rogue, had been flying for a long time, and he was weary. He was also plagued with miserable self inflicting thought torture, dreading his past. He was no longer a skywing, and he was emotionally wounded, eventually he knew this event would become a bitter scar. He was so caught up with his thoughts he hardly paid any attention to the fact that he was famished. He then saw land approaching, which again reminded him of his former home from which he was banned. As he approached he noticed a silvery dragon, like him, and about the same size by the mud. He didn't pay much attention to it, for now he wasn't in the mood. "Maybe some food would be good, make me feel better," he thought as he landed upon a rock at the shore a bit north from the mud. He leaned over the edge of the giant rock where he had landed and his foreye began to shock and charge.
A surging bolt shocked the water and about a dozen fish floated to the surface belly up, twitching and paralyzed. He bent down and began eating them straight out of the water. He would look over his shoulder as he would chew to observe the one who seemed like him, thinking he could prove to his ego he was still a kind hearted, benelovent dragon.

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
Imperia considered the muddy pool, with it's occasional little bubble, for several minutes before getting bored of waiting for something to happen. She gripped her spear in her forepaws.
The weapon changed shape to suit her needs, the razor sharp edges of it's blade became dull and practically harmless, perfect for gently poking whatever creature was down there to make it move. She was just raising the spear when a dragon came to land nearby and electrocuted a section of the river.
This dragon was a male, as far as she could tell, and about her size. But what was most fascinating about him was his colour, he was like a crystal that could almost but not quite totally be seen through.
Imperia temporarily forgot what she was doing as her attention was captured by this other dragon. She watched him select several fish from the water and eat them. She skipped over to him curiously and gave him a bright smile.
"Hi there! I'm Imperia, and I can't help but notice that you've caught quite a lot of fish. May I have just a few? Oh and by the way you look magnificent, I love your colour."

When the shadow above the water went away. She could hear a muffled voice. An waited a few minutes before the dragon carefully and slowly raises her head and neck up. Just barely breaching the water surface until the only thing above the water was her glossy teal eye's and the top side of her slimy head. At this angle you may think she was some weird eel fish. But she only wait's seconds to see if the two are distracted and far enough away from her hiding point. If so, she'll attempt to run away from the two. Unaware of how fast they are. But if one happened to spot her or she feels like it wasn't safe enough to flee. The strange creature will just plop her head back into the murky depth's of this stilled algea covered water.

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
"But of course fair lady," he said after a tremendous swallow, like he was satisfied with the amount he had consumed. He had a dark undertoned voice, but he was respecful and soft, "What might an elegant grace such as yourself be prodding with mud about?" He asked, with a glint in his foreye, that seemed to emanate an electrical wispy aura. He looked over his shoulder once more, and activated his ultraviolet echolocation to investigate from afar. He quickly noticed the subtle movements underneath the mud and saw the form of a dragon, another one about his size, that obviously had the the greeter's attention a few moments ago. For a few minutes he was mesmerized by the creature he saw. "Big fish," he said amusedly, with a sensible half grin, thinking both these dragons he had just seen were quite pretty.
Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
It was certainly worrisome seeing that there are now two dragons here. She espically didn't like this new one that look both dangerous and scary look. Not to mention that eerie deep voice. Like a lizard, she has small earhole's just behind her big fins at either side of her head. But that doesn't stop her good sense of hearing. As the eardrum behind the hole is about twice the size.
Despite not know that many term's. She figure's out well enough of what others intentions are by their tone of voice and body actions. Yet if there anything she learned over her lifetime is the word "Big" and "Fish". Something that heard quite a few times when chased off by humans. Which for her could only mean one thing. This dragon knew she was here. An that thought alone caused her to instantly go back beneath the water and swam to the deepest part of the pond. Where she curled up and dig herself down into the muck. Until half of her body was buried beneath the soft soil. Her body condensed down into a small ball shape by coiling around herself tightly.

"A big fish? Is that what the thing down there is?"
Imperia gave him a bright smile, her eyes showing admiration. She giggled slightly and blushed as his earlier comment sunk into her mind.
"The, ah... elegant grace, being me, was just curious to see what sort of creature wa-"
Imperia was cut off in her comment as there was a splash from the creature hiding underwater again.
"Hmm... I think it heard you."
Imperia used a brush of wind to float several fish to the shore and then delicately scooped them up, getting her forepaws muddy as she did. She ate a few and then tucked several others under her wing next to her spear, for snacking on later.
"Shall we go and find out what the mud creature is? If it heard us then it must be intelligent, maybe it's also hungry."
Imperia waved a fish around cheerfully, planning to offer it to the creature.

Soulcry chuckled, he greatly admired her playfulness. He knew what it was already, or at least what it apparently looked like. He suspected with certainty it must have been a dragon. But inspired from her playfulness bringing up his mood, he decided to play along and not tell her what he saw. But he did see which direction it went, or rather, he or she went. Clever and cunning, he knew she would eventually find out about his echolocation, thinking maybe he could impress her sometime.
"Of course she's intelligent," said Soul taking a guess at the dragons gender. He briskly scurried to the ground above the Koi Dragon, and sniffes the ground curiously. "I saw her come to this place here," he said gesturing Imperia towards him. "Don't be shy, I'm gentle..." he said in a gently luring voice. He then turned to imperia and said charismatically and nonchallantly, "My name's Soulcry, I'm a rogue, it's a pleasure to meet you Imperia."

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
Seeing how the dragon was hidden at the bottom and deepest part of the pond. Not only is she no longer visible but it makes it harder for the dragon itself to hear what was going on above. Let alone see anything at the surface. It was too murky down here. All she could here were faint muffled sounds. Ignoring the vibrations coming from other creatures in the pond. Like frog's, bugs, and small fish. The dragon isn't so smart with words yet. So it take more than some calm toned words to lure this dragon out of hiding. Food on the other hand. Is a entirely different story. The last she ate been 4 day's ago. And all it was were scraps remaining on a deer carcass.
As for the stormy and thundering clouds again. They grew thick during the other dragons conversation and as light occasionally flashed in the clouds with the crackling sound of thunder. Rain finally began to fall. Starting off light before it quickly grew to a heavy downfall. Pelleting the water and anything else like little bullets.

"It's a she?"
Imperia looked at him in surprise, her eyes drifted to his central eye and she smiled, suspecting that it was what allowed him to know that. She followed him, skipping sightly from enthusiasm as they reached a section of the bank. Soulcry commented that this was where the dragon was, fascinating Imperia.
"Oh so you can see through water?"
She laughed lightly, watching him try to talk to the dragon. She rather liked him.
"It's nice to meet you, Soul."
She cocked her head thoughtfully.
"Let's try offering her some fish to show we mean no harm."
Imperia began to hum softly, thinking that this sound would travel better through the water, the sound was soothing and had a rhythm as if it was from a nursery rhyme. She put a fish on her spear and then reached out with the long pole, holding the food just above the surface of the water.

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
Soulcry was taken aback a bit by her sarcasm, thinking the the retort was rather witty. "I believe so, she seems like a she indeed."
The rain made Soul feel right at home, he was a solemn soul most of the time, and felt comfort imagining the sweet feeling of sadness, like the droplets were tears pouring from cloud to cleanse him. Maybe it was merely precipitation, but the lightning and thunder chilled his spirit. He was slightly anguished and anxious like the Gods were condemning him for his past. "But it was a mistake," he thoughtfully prayed and plead. His face was downcast slightly, but he had his back turned to Imperia, not wanting her to see him so distraught.
He took a deep breath, and wiped away a tear with one of his wings before turning his head back to Imperia again. And with a sad posture reached out for a fish. He was a little embarassed to see the pole, he sort of half chuckled it off, before putting his arm down.
"Echolocation," he volunteered, somewhat proudly. "I pulse using my sixth sense, it allows me to see in vivid hues of indigos through haze, fog, smoke, or even physical objects."

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
There was definitely a conversation happening above and close by. Which made the dragon all the more nervous. Yet as the rain starts the voices were being drowned out by the pattering rain. An yet, this would also prove to be using in luring her out of hiding due to the rain dripping off the fish and causing the scent to linger into the water from the raindrops. Something that smelled like dead fish but... different? She never had fish that had a linger fried taste to it before from being zapped. So there was something that seemed different about the smell. But that would only make the dragon more curious. As well as make her stomach rumble.
So after 30 seconds the dragon slowly uncurled and raised her head up enough to see the looming shadow just barely through all the ripples from the rain. An in the next few moments she darts up the water like a alligator. As just like what a alligator's would also do, she lunged her body out of the water. Showing all her smooth slime coated skin and fin's. Snapping her jaws over the fish and diving back under the water all within seconds. Then jerking on the spear to try and pull the fish off of it.

"Echolocation? That's a rather cool trick. You're quite lucky."
Imperia glanced up at Soulcry admiringly, before returning her gaze to the speared fish and continuing her humming. She could have used her magic to deflect the rain from herself, but she wasn't bothered about getting a bit wet.
Imperia was watching the rain on the surface of the pond when an ornately decorated finned creature surged up and grabbed her spear, she yelped as she was pulled halfway into the muddy pool. On instinct her tail raised and wrapped around Soul to hold herself steady. She struggled to pull her spear back again.
"Soul, help! Stop it! Please let go!"
She felt her body sliding on the mud, it was getting on her legs and belly, and realised that with so little traction there was nothing she could do to stop herself from being pulled in aside from hope that Soulcry would hold firm, but she refused to let go of her spear.
(EDIT: I feel like a dumbass now)
Imperia glanced up at Soulcry admiringly, before returning her gaze to the speared fish and continuing her humming.

Ooc:// Soulcry not Soulfire Imperia lol
Bic://
Soulcry was solemn still, he had a slight smirk in his face from the compliment, but he was silent. When the koi dragon emerged with a violent thrust, and Imperia wrapped her tail around himself, Soulcry became very excited. "Finally! Some action today," he praised with a brightened look on his face. Soulcry was uncertain what to do, he knew his attacks were powerful, he did not want to hurt something innocent again. Suddenly a brilliant idea sparked in his mind. He pulled back on Imperia trying with all his might to pull the beast out with her. He was, however, built for speed, not strength.
While pulling, he waved his tail, tipped with an energy sphere, just right of the Koi's face in an attempt to provoke her to bite that way. He figured the dragon may be drawn to the light. He also thought by pulling on Imperia, if the fish dragon let go to bite a different direction, the release might be fast enough for him to not get bit. Soulcry just didnt want to see Imperia's staff not get lost, it seemed rather unique. But should the dragon not let go of its lunch, he can at least justify that he tried if something wrong went down. Soulcry himself wasnt all that worried, but he thought if his tail was bit he may not be so lucky afterall. Then again, he did meet a pretty dragon with a pretty name.

Despite getting the spear and fish at once. The only intention this hungry dragon had was to finally get somewhat of a decent amount of food. An fish was by far her most favorite thing to eat. As she thrashed her head around in the water while feet her dug deep into the muck at the bottom. As well as clinging onto partly buried branches. An although being uncivilized to the point that other dragons may think of her as a "feral" at times. She certainly wasn't that stupid either. As she wasn't so temped by shiny things like birds and bugs. No, the only thing this dragon wanted was that fish. So after a few more good yanks and chewing.
Then spear suddenly eased up. An the only thing left at the tip if the spear was a small chunk of meat, tattered fish tail, and the remaining bones of the lower half of the fishes body. The water surface having some large swirls and occasional glimpses of orange, white, and red hues. The black being not so visible through the murky waters. This dragon can be sly and cunning when it came to keeping out of danger. Thus why she survived out here for so long. So if these two ever plan to provoke her out. They'll have to be smart about it.
Yet if they were to have learned anything from this event. It's obviously that food, primarily the smell of dead fish, will certainly provoke this dragon enough to show herself. If the food is within safe reaches that is. Otherwise the beast now just waits closer up the shallows enough so it can see past the rain-pelleted surface. But to much difficulty, as all she see's is rippled shadows.

Imperia felt the fish coming loose from the spear and got her feet under herself just in time, but she had underestimated just how hard Soul was pulling. She was jerked backwards and nearly fell, but she managed to stumble back and instead simply bumped Soulcry hard with her rump. She flailed around half in the water for a few seconds before struggling back to the shore. She was laughing.
"I'm so sorry Soul!" She giggled. "I didn't expect her to yank me forwards that hard. I'm sorry I grabbed you and then fell against you."
She looked sorry, with big apologetic eyes and covered in mud, but didn't sound sorry. She sounded like she'd had a lot of fun.
She examined the little bit of meat left on her spear, sighing in relief.
"I would have dived in to get this spear, no matter what was down there, but I'm glad that the creature didn't take it."
Imperia thought for a moment, then a clever plan came to her.
"Ok, I know how we can catch her. You can see her through the water, meaning you know when she's about to jump. What I want you to do is take my spear, put a fish on it and hold it out over the water, up nice and high. As soon as she's about to jump you lift up the spear out of her reach. That will be my signal. I will fly across the water, grab her as she jumps, and throw her onto the land. I'm a wind dragon so I've got the speed and strength to do that. Then we block her path back to the water so that we can get a look at her and hopefully talk to her. We'll also give her some more fish to calm her down the moment she's out of the water."
Imperia grinned. "That's complicated, even for me. Do I need to repeat anything? I think I forgot half of it myself."
She had a brief look of reluctance, then she offered him her spear.
"Take care with that. I'd hate to lose it, and I also don't want to accidentally be stabbed."

As she was talking, Soulcry was intently and alertfully listening, he laughed at her comment about forgetting most of it, thinking she had such a lovely personality and a great sense of humor too. "Wow that's a lot better than my idea," he said, "I was going to volunteer myself as the alpha male and just dive in with a fish in my mouth and offer it to make friends," he proceeded, "but I doubt it'd work, and I don't feel like getting wet." he chuckled.
As he grabbed the spear, he obviously knew it was something much more precious than he previously presumed. The magic felt very powerful and his heart began beating rapidly, he felt very sensitive to it, very impressed, he handled it with care. He had never used a weapon before, but the plan sounded simple and straightforward, not requiring much skill in weilding on his part. He hovered to the small pile of fish and grabbed the largest of the three that remained. It was on the edge of death, suffocating in the air whereas before they were much more lively while suffering.
He placed the fish on the tip and casually strolled back, careful, via her request, not to injure anything but the fish with it. "Ready?" he asked, wondering if she was joking about forgetting the plan as he proceeded to place the tip high in the air above the water. "Oh yeah, duh, now I'm forgetting stuff..." he thought while activating his echolocation, "I'm sorry," he blushed, "It's over here now," he said changing his position by about 10 feet. "Oh yeah, by the way, I can't use my ability all the time, so we may have to guess most of the time if it doesn't work the first time..."

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
The dragon was entirely oblivious to their plan. Though she does pick up a few muffled words here and there from beneath the water. Primarily the word fish over and over. Either way, she still wants so much more. An can tell they were definitely planning something. Of what exactly she didn't know. But it was enough for her to be wary of them. Watching him near where she was closest to shore. Making her back up a little into deeper depths. But it was not long before she picked up on the scent of fish from the raindrops sliding off the dying fish above her head. She looked up, hunger driving all other thoughts aside as she was so tempted by it.
At first she resists her instincts for a good few long moments. But eventually she could not longer hold herself back and does the same thing as last time. As her limbs were tucked to her side while her powerful momentum under the water launched her out from beneath the depths and maw wide open. Baring those sharp teeth that easily clamp down on the generously sized fish. Evening going higher than the spear. Making it raise upward before she begins to fall back down. Unaware of what was just about to occur.

Re: The Elusive Lizard Fish? (Open to all)
Imperia darted across the water so fast that she was only a silver blur, she calculated based on her size and the size of the creature that she had easily enough strength and speed to carry the other dragoness onto land. She had a moment to admire the koi dragoness before she caught her. Imperia's movement would take her under the dragoness's body, she planned to wrap her paws around it's midsection and, with another flap of her wings, lift it into the air and drop it about thirty feet away from the water's edge. She would then land between it and the water and immediately offer a fish.
If this failed she would simply try to move the dragoness as far as she could. If things went really badly she'd probably fall into the water with the dragoness on top of her.
(Elisa I'll let you decide how well my attempt works. Please don't be too mean. <3)
