Festival of Earth (Event/EarthWings)
First topic message reminder :
The Earth King decided his Tribe needed something o take their minds off of things and relax. So he decided to create an annual festival. This festival would celebrate their element and the infinite possibilities of it. There would be a feast, of course, various games and a contest. The contest would be the main event and consist of its participants making earthen works of art. Baldirak would judge the event himself along with one or two others. The King was currently helping to set up food and areas for the games.

Re: Festival of Earth (Event/EarthWings)
Xia noticed one of the young dragons pounce forward, landing on her shoulder. She smiled happily when she saw all of the young hatchlings. Why? Because it reminded her of when she was younger. Her father would often recall stories of a long time ago, when the EarthWings were going through a difficult time, and hatchlings were a rare, but joyous, sight. She was also rather happy to see the young ones at all, since she enjoyed the company of the innocent ones. They had yet to be corrupt by the black forces of nature.
Playfully, Xia would attempt to tickle the young Prasi by nudging her with her snout, chuckling. She then approached Rii, purring contently.
"These little ones of yours are quite the troublemakers, I see." she said with a smile, the flowery frill around her neck vibrating a bit, and glowing with happiness.

Prasi giggles as her mother grows increasingly agitated. She is oddly accepting of Baldi's words though and gives him a little nod before trying to sneak towards Vilkas.

The King smiled as he watched little AuSurath sneak toward his mother while she was distracted. He noted Prasi's nod then left the group to make final preparations for the sculpting contest. By now, everyone had arrived and were mingling or engaging in the various activities.Vilkas was searching for the Hatchlings who were now hiding from him. If he spotted one, he prtended not to see and let them move to another spot before catching them. He noticed Prasi and, with a smile, pretended not to notice.
Baldirak made his way over to the sculpting area. There was a table with a piece of blank parchment and a quill sitting on it. "The main event for today will be a sculpting contest. Participants will have an hour and a half to work. You may use any material you like, it can be as big or small as you like. The winner will be determined by myself and two other judges. The prize for winning will be announced later on. If you would like to participate in this contest, please come over here and sign your name."

Xia would smile down at the hatchlings. They really were adorable. She had always loved the presence of ones so pure and innocent. Even though she was warming up to the position she held, one of importance and authority, the religious side of her still couldn't help but marvel at these young creatures. So free of sin. If only she could go back to simpler times, where she could just play, and have fun with her other siblings. In fact, just the mere thought of her siblings would make her sad, her eyes drifting towards Baldirak.
She had been born in a clutch of about nine to seven siblings, she didn't quite remember, as most of those years had been a blur to her. Most of these siblings had been kidnapped, killed, or simply disappeared, with the exception of Satori and Lye. Of course, Xia had never really gotten to know many of her siblings, and thus, wasn't all that emotional when she thought of it. It still made her the tiniest bit sad, though, to try and remember.
Quickly, though, was she snapped out of this, as Baldirak walked over to a sculpting area, her attention caught as he suddenly began to speak. She'd tilt her head a bit. She was not one for sculpting. She was certainly no artist. Though, she would be quite interested in watching the contest. Maybe she could ask Baldirak if she could help judge? That would be rather pleasant, she thought with a smile. Though, she didn't want to be rude, and instead would wait until Baldirak approached her.

Oh yes these two in particular cause trouble everywhere they go. Umbra tends to keep the trouble confined to the nest though. Rii sighed answering Xia then shrugging as she watched Prasi then Au to make sure they weren't being immediately bothersome to others.
AuSurath! Prasi! You two be good now. Play with the other kids or with the toys over there. Rii called out to the two hatchlings, but whether they heard her or not though she was unsure. It was then that their king began to speak to everyone announcing the beginning of the first event. Rii became anxious once again, but this time it wasn't anxiety over her hatchlings. She had no materials to work with here! She'd have to slither back fast to grab the particular jewel she wanted to carve into. Rii dashed away from the festivities real quick to find the jewel hidden in her horde. She hoped she wouldn't be too late getting back and miss the first part of the events.

Re: Festival of Earth (Event/EarthWings)
Another little hatchlings wobbled toward to group, but she did not have the same hop in her step as the others did. Alkali waddled over, standing near her caretaker, Rhune. He was really the only dragon she'd ever met, besides the hatchlings she'd seen every once in a while. She never bothered to join their games, though. Partly because they were too agile for her to keep up with, and partly what her scales had become; just a few weeks ago, they had been thin and flimsy, but now they gleamed and had thin, sharp ends thanks to her improved diet. She was sure that at one point Rhune had accidentally stepped on one, she sure had, and they hurt. The stocky hatchlings came upon the puddle of spilled water, and after sniffing it, began drinking it, not caring one bit that it was on the floor.
When she had her fill she plopped down on her bottom, making her tail rattle quietly and it hit the ground. She craned her head to look at the Baldirak, not once realizing that he was the king. "When's it starting?"

Re: Festival of Earth (Event/EarthWings)
Rhune definitely seemed to be overwhelmed as he tried to get AuSurath and Prasi to behave. With the obvious lack of authority he was showing, this would prove a near impossible feat - it seemed more likely that the two would actually stop more because of pity rather than because of the orders he tried to say way too gently.
And, as if to add to his problems, Alkali arrived and began to lick the water that had spilled on the ground. Rhune headed toward the hatchling and nuzzled her.
"Alkali! I already told you you didn't need to drink water that has spilled on the ground! You can have all the clean water you want... Want me to get you some?" he asked her.
All he could hope was that she also wouldn't see the remnants of the tomatoes Prasi had thrown.
But then Baldirak made the announcement about a contest. There, Rhune was puzzled. He would love to participate, but he had already too much on his paws with the hatchlings to be able to do anything else. And Rii even left! He would definitely need help if he wanted to participate...

A few EarthWings came over to sign up for the contest. Baldirak told them when it would start and let them go to get whatever they needed. He also continued contemplating the prizes, as he still hadn't decided what the first place prize would be. He noticed his sister watching and waved her over. "Xia, are you interested in participating? Or perhaps you'd like to help me judge?" And then Baldirak heard a tiny voice and looked down to see a Hatchling staring up at him. He lowered his head to look at the tiny EarthWing. "Hello, Young One. It'll start in about half an hour. Would you like to participate?" he asked with a smile.

Tamira had finished the little tasks she needed to do and had finished helping with the art display table. She was done just in time to hear Baldirak announce the start of the art competition and a grin spread on her face. Should she join? Or should she just stay aside and watch as the participants?
She licked her jaw in wonder as to what action she should take. Her talents weren't particularly in the arts section, but she wouldn't mind giving her claws a try in the competition. With a shrug, she headed up to sign up for the competition.
"If you don't mind, Your Majesty, I would like to participate in this," she said.

(Screw it, short posts ftw! Too tired XD)
Xia would listen to the announcements, smiling as the small hatchlings would run between her feet. Children were such a blessing, she thought with grin. Then, when Baldirak said the expected, asking her if she would like to help judge, she nodded, a small dip of her head signifying a bow.
"I would love to, my King," she said with a small chuckle, walking up to stand beside him, and perhaps help him with setting up whatever needed to be set up.

(OOC: Playing as Prasi and Rii here)
IC: Rii quickly got to her den and rummaged through the mess that was her nest and workshop area. Now that Rii had a stationary life, she was able to make a lot more things and keep her finished works unlike when she was a rogue. However this wanting to keep her work was making Rii into a bit of a hoarder since much of her den was covered in interesting materials. She finally found the rock she was looking for and began to head back to the event area of the haven where everyone else was gathering.
Prasi was bored now that her mother had stopped chasing her. Giving up her plans on causing trouble, the girl decided to head to Baldirak to see what he was doing. She jumped onto a table moving a glass punch bowl refilled with punch but not dropping it. Then she looked down at what the king was doing. She watched inquisitively for about a minute and a half before hearing another hatchling and snapping her head in that direction. Prasi bounded off of the table, again moving the punch bowl to the edge but not dropping it. Then she ran to AuSurath and bowled into him wanting to wrestle.

Baldirak chuckled. "I suppose you mean judge. Good. Everything is ready, we're just waiting for the participants to return. How is father doing, I haven't had a chance to check on him yet today. Do you think he'll show up? It's hardly a gathering without the great Cosmos around." While speaking with his sister, the king wasn't aware of the Hatchling that scurried across the table and more than once moved a bowl perilously close to the edge. Then Tamira walked up and expressed her desire to participate in the sculpting event. He smiled and pointed to the sign-up parchment. "Of course, go right ahead. And good luck to you. After you sign up, you can go gather whatever materials you need."

AuSurath watched Rii go and run off without him, and just sat and watched the opening she left from. He blinked, confused as to why she left him in a room full of giants, and turned to look around at them all. Thankfully, none of the, were staring and being spooky, so he felt ok at the current moment. He heard a putter patter of feet to his left, and only had enough time to Yelp and stand before being knocked over by an incoming Prasi projectile. He was in a very poor, even for hatchling standards, position to 'fiht' back, and tumbled as he flailed wildly to try and grapple Prasi to no avail.

Rylatha had slept late. She hadn't meant to, but due to her being blind it was harder to be awoken by the sunlight streaming into her den... Wait, make that impossible. She was lucky she awoke in time at all; her keen ears had picked up voices from the festivity, and she stood up rather calmly. She stretched each limb, one by one, and headed out.
Rylatha welcomed the warm sun beating on her scales. It was rather relaxing. This was her favorite type of weather; sunshine, maybe a whiff of blurry white clouds... Of course she couldn't marvel at the sign of precipitation with her eyes, but the scent of preparing rain delighted the EarthWing Wise One.
Rylatha entered the place where the party was held and took a seat by the entrance, breathing in deeply to catch the scents of those she may know. Of course there was Baldirak, her foster sister Xia, Rii... The young one smiled as she sat, wrapping her long tail delicately around her paws, her sightless sunset eyes staring right ahead.

When it seemed like the hatchlings finally started to behave themselves, Rhune could finally turn his attention toward the contest. As it was announced participants could go and search for their materials, he darted toward his den, and took a pouch of semi-precious stones. His next destination was the crafting quarter of the Haven, where the warehouse for the materials was. He gathered some clay and the tools he needed to craft and brought it all back toward the event. He set up everything there, and waited for a signal to be given. This was going to be fun !

The King waited for the participants to return and get to their stations. Rhune had just come back, lookiing quite eager to get started. He smiled and turned his attention to the rest of the festivities. Baldirak could feel tremors in the distance, his sister making her way through the tunnels to the Main Chamber. Knowing she couldn't see him anymore, he called out across the room, "Hello, Rylatha. DId you sleep weill?"

IC: Rii scrambles back from her den into the tunnels and heads straight for the festival. She holds in her claws a giant raw ruby the size of a punch buggy car and hurries to find her own spot among the other sculptors. Heaving for breath she finally sets down the mass of rock and looks to the king as well as the other dragons getting ready to sculpt things wondering if they had started already or not.

Re: Festival of Earth (Event/EarthWings)
Xia would smile at Baldirak's words, before turning to gaze upon the participates. Everyone looked so eager. After the announcement of the event, many dragons dashed off, no doubt heading to get their supplies. Meanwhile, that left two little hatchlings to casually sit on the ground. While Baldirak was distracted, Xia decided to walk up to the tiny AuSurath. Oh, what had Baldi said his name was, Xia questioned. She crouched down next to him, smiling pleasantly, a sweet odor circling around them.
"Hello there, little one. My name is Xia. What's yours?" she said with a chuckle, soft and motherly, despite Xia herself having no experience with hatchlings. She did most certainly love them, though.
It wasn't long before Rylatha soon arrived, followed by Hyruu and Rii who had come back from retrieving supplies. Xia offered a kind purr to Rylatha. "Good day, dear sister. A beautiful day for the festival! The gods have truly blessed us, have they not?" she then turned towards Rii.
"Oh, Rii, your hatchlings are simply divine! I envy you for them." she said with a small chuckle, just to let Rii know she was joking about the last part.

Rylatha had smelled her brother's scent before she heard his voice, although everything in the room was too muddled to pinpoint him exactly. She perked her ears up and swivelled them in the direction she heard his voice. She smiled, purring quietly.
"It was a delightful dream, yes," the Wise One replied to the king. Her ears perked up as she glanced to Xia's direction, grinning at the sound of her sister's voice. She couldn't see her, of course, but she was still happy to know that some family was there. The young dragon settled down on the ground, Â laying down, tucking her emerald-green paws underneath her chest to get comfortable. She wrapped her tail tightly around her body so it would not be tread on.

(OOC: Going to have Prasi answer for Au since well.. I think you know he can't)
IC: Prasi did her best to bother Vilkas, then lost all interest in him when Rii bounded out of the hall. Wondering where her mother had gone to, Prasi realized that she wouldn't be yelled at for now. So she clambered over to Au and Xia hearing the strange plant woman ask for her brothers name.
That's AuSurath! I'm Prasi! Who are you? She asked Xia while staring transfixed at the women's plant-like frill. Her own little antlers had begun growing, but Prasi had no idea what they would turn into. She was now imagining a nice frill over top of her head much like Xia's.
Then Rii appeared again, but Prasi ignored her as she gazed at Xia wanting an answer.

Baldirak smiled when Ryla said she had slept well. "I'm glad to hear it, Sister. Would you like some food brought over to you, water, perhaps?" The King noticed Rii had returned with her sculpting materials... almost everyone was at their station and ready to begin. Just one was missing, Tamira. (Should we go ahead and start?) Well, he would wait a few minutes more before starting the competition. Everyone was excited and eager to begin, he didn't want to keep them waiting.
Vilkas was still playing with the Hatchlings when he noticed his mother had arrived. Excusing himself from the small EarthWIngs, he went over to Rylatha and nuzzled her side. "Hello, Mother. Are you hungry? Can I get you anything?"

Rylatha opened her mouth to reply to her brother, but as soon as her little first-hatched son, Vilkas, scampered over, her throat released a loud and rumbly purr. She brushed the tip of her tail around his paws. "Well, I did wake up, my child," she said gently. "Rather than you getting it for me, how about we walk there together, hm?" She stretched, her back arching like a cat. She stood to her paws. She reached out one of her large wings and tapped it around blindly before she finally laid it on her son's shoulder. "Can you lead me there?" she asked. Rylatha had no issue with being blind, but her ears burned so hot in embarrassment that she was positive they were on fire. Being guided around rather made her feel meek and helpless.
But... At least she could get closer and make more friends in the Tribe this way. Just in case Vilky-Boo-Bear noticed her discomfort, she flashed a smile in the direction where she believed he was standing.

Re: Festival of Earth (Event/EarthWings)
(Aww Rylatha and Vilkas are so adorable together. Let the mothering intensify)
Rii was keeping a close eye on Prasi as she tussled with Au then went to bother Vilkas. Her blue eyes also flicked to the other dragons as well as Baldirak curious as to when the contest would start. With a huff Rii turned her gaze away from the king careful not to stare and watched Prasi again this time trying to bother Xia. Prasi when adults are talking or busy you don't interrupt them, that's rude dear. Rii chided calling out to Prasi but she wasn't sure if the hot headed little girl had listened to her at all. Then she looked back down to her giant ruby which had been taken from a mountain near the firewings territory while Rii was out hunting. It had taken her a while to carry and drag this treasure back with her.
Rylatha arrived and Rii bowed to her before she remembered that the woman was blind and righted herself. It's a pleasure to see you again Rylatha. Rii called out the greeting then watched Prasi to make sure that the young one didn't accidentally trip the wise one. She then nodded to Xia's comment and gave the kind woman a smile.
