The chill on his scales was replaced by warmth. Birds sang and nearby the sea roared. An eyelid lifted, the sun chasing away the darkness of sleep from a pale blue eye. Baldirak lifted his head with a yawn that gently shook earth from its sleep. Today was the day he was to officially participate in the tournament. With an yawn, the EarthWing stood, shaking water droplets from his hide. A pain moved through his right foreleg to fully wake him. His gaze fell to that limb. All night he had pondered whether he should allow his opponent to know of this impairment. It only occurred to him just now that the fight would take place in the sky mostly. So he took to the air, ready for the journey across the ocean to the isle housing the SkyWings. Soon the old EarthWing territory was a mere island behind him, replaced by a vast and seemingly unending blue blanket of salted ocean water. And for a long time, that was all he had to look at, save the odd bird or cloud that moved across the lighter blue sky. So much blue this morning... At least it wasn't all the same shade. But soon, he could make out the coast of the island.

The floating islands of the SkyWing territory were something Baldirak had never seen before. If he were not here for a reason, he might have taken the time to marvel at their existence. He found the one which would be available to use for this battle and landed. Even though his opponent hadn't arrived yet, Baldirak put full pressure on his right foreleg to conceal his limp. To ignore the pain, he focused on his surroundings. He had landed in a valley, but the island was mostly mountainous. There were small clusters of trees spread out through the valley. A river weaved through the mountains only to end in a waterfall that spilled over the side of the island. Baldirak sat in front of the mountain pass, waiting for his opponent.

With Devi arriving a few days after his previous fight, still feeling a little sore he arrived at the battlegrounds. Spotting his much larger opponent he couldn't help but feel a little worried. Landing onto the ground setting up some dust from the stone floor, looking up towards the Earthwing. "Well.. I must admit I didn't think I was that small" he chuckled, still ready for anything he waited for a response.

Baldirak had his eyes closed when his opponent arrived. His tail was wrapped around the lunar talisman he wore. He sat in silent prayer to the Goddess Astral for whatever knowledge he would need to win the fight. And then he heard wing beats and felt a light rumbling in the earth just moments later. "And until I find myself in the company of one so small, I do not think I am so big.. LightWing." With a hissing inhale, he opened his eyes, looking down at the smaller Dragon. He smiled lightly, glad he had been right in his guess. "But fights are rarely decided on such things. Who knows, perhaps the gods will favor you this day. Before we begin, I would know my opponent's name."

Nodding slightly he replied "Devi, leader of the Lightwings and who are you?" giving him a curious look he waited, only to notice the talisman only making out the shape slightly. With Devi thinking to himself he knew that he wouldn't win a close up brawl, he would have to quick strikes in the air, frowning slightly he knew this was going to be tough since his build wasn't really meant for speed.

The EarthWing laughed, "What are the odds two leaders would be matched together? I am Baldirak, king of the EarthWings. It is a pleasure to meet you, Devi." Baldirak's tail lowered to the ground as he spoke and watched the LightWing. He studied the smaller Dragon, contemplating just how he could about winning this fight. But he always found the best way to decide that was through observation. "Shall we start? I give you the honor of the first move."

Smiling slightly as Bald replied, nodding with giving him the first move he quickly jumped into the air and aimed at getting high. after a few moments he turned looking towards the much larger dragon, as his snout glowed a bright yellow. Waiting to see what the Earthwing was going to do.

The EarthWing did nothing at all. He only continued to sit and watched as Devi took to the sky. His head tilted slightly in curiosity as the small Dragon's snout glowed. But Baldirak did not react, rather, he seemed content to wait for Devi's attack, whatever it may be. He opened his wings slightly as a breeze went by and he moved his tail to lay beside his right legs.

Devi looking curiously at the earthwing who just waited for his attack, deciding to continue a large beam of light fired from his mouth directly at Bald, with such intensity that it would burn anything it touched.

Baldirak seemed to be calculating the time it took for Devi to launch this attack. And even with the beam of light racing toward him, the EarthWing seemed in no great hurry to move. Instead, he silently counted the time it took for that beam to reach him. At the last moment, he lifted his right foreleg, allowing the beam to hit it as he closed his eyes and turned his head away. It hurt a great deal more than what he had felt in awhile, but Baldirak didn't seem to show it aside from a loud hiss through gritted teeth that shook the ground. Perhaps it was because he was accustomed to pain from the limb. Hm, intense pain, perhaps equal or lessened if it were to strike another part of my body. Flight would be impossible--avoid blocking with wings.

In the moments following the beam, Baldirak looked back up at Devi. There was a rock near him, about the size of a SkyWing, which he grabbed with his tail. But he did nothing with it, only held it. And then he opened his maw just seconds before a stream of acid flew out. He aimed at the smaller Dragon's underbelly and, moving his head up and slightly to the left, directed the stream at the left wing. Now the acid would come at Devi in an arch for a greater chance at landing a hit.

As Devi finished firing his beam of light his eyes opened again only to suddenly notice that his attack didn't seem to do much, sighing he only noticed Bald's attack moments before the acid partly hit his wing and chest, groaning slightly as it stung against his hide. Moving into a dive to remove the acid clinging onto his scales he managed to stay in the air, gasping he looked towards the Earthwing again frowning as he tried to think of a way to attack without hurting himself.

Interesting. But he could simply have not been paying attention. Baldirak spread his wings and took to the air seconds after Devi came out of his dive. He climbed up, keeping himself at a distance where only a few inches of his tail could reach his opponent. But even as he came close to the LightWing, he didn't slow; he intended to fly past him. His maw opened again to shoot another stream of acid. This one, however, he kept aimed directly in front of him. It would be close to Devi, but not so much that he would be hit. At the same time the acid left his maw, and just as the front half of his body passed Devi, his tail--still grasping the SkyWing-sized rock--was swung upward. It was aimed at the center of the right wing.

As his breath returned to him, he gasped at the large earthwing taking to the air, only noticing the rock being held by his tail which was over half his size. Quickly moving to the side avoiding the Earthwing flying past him dodging the acid which seemed to aim towards him, suddenly he realized that Bald's tail was heading straight towards him trying to dodge in time his speed failed him only to get clipped on his right wing, making him loose his balance as he fell into a nose dive for a few seconds regaining his positioning. Spinning around he faced towards Bald's underbelly firing off his beam of light again hoping to do more damage than last time.

The EarthWing had glanced over his left shoulder as he slowed. He saw Devi fall into a dive. His reaction time seems to be slow. Baldirak noticed Devi preparing his light beam, but given that he was still flying vertically, couldn't tell where it was going. He hissed as the beam hit his underbelly. The pain was less than it had been for his leg. Alright, enough observation. Time to fight. Closing his wings suddenly, the EarthWing fell. He twisted around so he was facing the ground and dived at Devi, sending yet another stream of acid directly at him. At the same time he opened his right wing slightly to send himself into a spiral so that the acid stream corkscrewed, covering a wider area.

As Devi flipped backwards flying high into the air as he dashed and tried to avoid the acid stream his lower end of his tail got hit, causing him to roar in pain. Noticing that Bald was heading towards the ground he decided that he had to take his chance, diving towards the giant earthwing aiming to crash into his side forcing him towards the ground. With his wings starting to grow tired from flying so fast.

Baldirak closed his maw when he saw Devi fly high to avoid the acid and ended up behind him. He smirked faintly, as Devi was right where he wanted him. He knew the LightWing would dive after him. He peered over his shoulder and kept track of Devi's position. He noticed that Devi seemed to be veering toward his right side. Perhaps he means to crash into me.. he thought. Baldirak was still just high enough in the air to make a sudden stop without crashing, and so he snapped his wings open suddenly. But he miscalculated how close Devi was. As he leveled out, the LightWing hit his right shoulder, causing Baldi a great deal of pain. He roared out, the ground splitting in several areas as a result. The force of the impact also made the EarthWing veer of course. It wasn't so great that he couldn't have recovered, but the pain he experienced made him instinctively close his right wing over his limb to prevent further damage. That in turn caused him to fall; he realized this too late to doing anything but crash. An earthquake rippled through the island; trees fell, the mountains shivered. The already broken ground broke even more.

With Devi hitting his shoulder, he too felt the pain as he too didn't expect the sudden stop, With Bald's deafening roar rang in his ears. Feeling his muscles failing him, he fell off Bald crashing into the ground too, taking the breath out of him. Gasping from the fall as he blacked out for a few moments, waking up he slowly pulled himself back onto his feet looking towards Bald waiting to see what he was going to do.

The dust created by tiny granules of crushed rock settled on and around the EarthWing. After a few minutes, the pain in his injured foreleg subsided to its usual level. It was then that Baldirak rose, all the dust sliding off his hide like disturbed snow from a mountain. He groaned a little as he stood, just a little dizzy. And then he saw Devi a few feet away, watching him, waiting.

Baldirak spread his wings as he lowered his head down to the LightWing's level and opened his maw, releasing a stream of acid accompanied by another earth-splitting roar.

Devi groaning as he realized what Bald was maybe going to do, jumping into the air only just managing to avoid the acid spray, landing onto his nose as he was occupied. Digging his claws into the softer scale, as he again charged he light power only that his whole body was starting to glow.

Baldirak roared yet again as Devi's claws dug into his snout. He saw the LightWing charging an attack, he beat his wings, taking off into the air. He flew first through the mountain pass as fast as he could, weaving through the rocky structures and tossing his head at each turn in an attempt to throw Devi off.

With the sudden movements of Bald's body and head, it wasn't long before Devi lost his grip, catching one of his wings against a rocky cliff face he cried out in pain, but moments after he fell his power was charged, As his body suddenly let out a powerful pillar of light aiming towards the sky, light so bright that it burned anything it touched. Devi roaring with such power his energy soon depleted only to crash back down onto the ground feeling weak, as he groaned in pain he looked towards the aftermath.

((So, does the pillar only move up into the sky where Devi is, or does it also move outward toward Baldi?))

(Well its like an area of effect, not really aimed towards Bald it shoot ups and has quite large radius, also its from Devi's position its his most powerful move thats why he wanted to stay on your nose)

The EarthWing slowed and hovered once Devi had been thrown from his snout. He turned to see where the LightWing unleashed his attack. Baldirak closed his pale eyes against the brilliant light but still felt its heat. In fact, he felt that warmth all over, one that lingered after the attack was through. Baldirak opened his eyes to see that Devi had crashed to the ground, and flew down to land in front of him. "That must have taken some energy, LightWing. I would guess more than you had to spare. So tell me, will you now yield?"

Groaning as Devi tried to get up he nodded at Bald and replied with a shaking voice "Y..yeah.. I can't.. move anymore.." sighing he rested on the ground with his body aching.
