Back story: Long ago, she was a dragon of fire. Her friend who practically raised her went to the Ice region, and got stuck. Frostflare went over to help. At the time she had no name, and her friend was still thinking of one. She used her fire to melt the ice, but it had a counter effect. It was some sort of magic spreading ice. Her friend was freed, but Frostflare's flames were turned to ice. So then Sapphire (her friend) named her Frostflare to honor her new ice magic, but to still consider her long forgotten fire magic. Eventually her friend died , and that is why she has a cross necklace that is also a seal to keep the fire beast inside of her, where it belongs.
