Encountering the New Goddess

Rylatha found herself practicing her mutating powers on some small creatures. Everytime a little deer leaped by, she would use her powers. The deer grew large (30 ft.), and its fangs began to protrude below the lower lip. Eerie-looking feathered wings with speckled white spots on them sprouted from its back. It spun around and narrowed its new crimson eyes at Rylatha, and she heard its deep voice only audible within her head:
"Master, your desire is my command."
Rylatha gazed at it, hard. Hmm. The real reason she was here is to train her new powers, and also to find herself an animal companion. She squinted her eyes at the deer. It was scary... Bigger than a SkyWing... But it was too... creepy!
She was about to be kind to it and speak her mind, but she stopped.
I'm a semi-god. I don't need to justify myself to petty animals such as a puny deer, she reminded herself grimly.
"Begone, petty creature," she snarled, the black spines upon her neck bristling. "You do not... Uhh..." She paused, trying to find the words to make herself sound as authoritive as her father, Cosmos. Instead, at a loss of words, she snapped, "Just... Go eat grass. Or something."
The deer gazed at her, head tilted to one side. Its expression seemed confused, and Rylatha simply rolled her eyes and used her magic to turn it back to its normal form. The animal bolted back into the forest.
Rylatha sighed, and she kept encountering creatures and mutating them. However, none of them met her requirements for a perfect pet. She did all she could: turned rabbits into hydra-like beasts, shifted wolves to look like angels, or made squirrels look like vampiric werewolves. None of them pleased her at all. She turned them back to their original version and watched after them as they sprinted or hopped off. Rylatha wished she had someone to speak to... It was lonely out here all alone in the forest.

Baldirak was in the area, with no particular destination in mind. He took in all the scents and sights around him, his paws took in the textures of the ground beneath them. As he walked through the trees, the leaves adorning their branches brushed against his scales. A slight breeze rustled the untouched leaves, a sound he rather enjoyed. He noticed after awhile, that several small creatures were coming from another part of the forest, moving as if they'd been startled by something. Baldirak turned and walked in that direction. He soon saw a familiar dragoness. "Greetings."
