The omniscient curse (open to all especially Luna)

Astral had promised herself a long time ago that every day she would spend at least an hour watching over the world of Pyyria. As the goddess of the moon and stars she could see all that light touched. Which basically meant Astral could see everything that happened on Pyyria, but most of the time Astral shut it out all but for that one hour a day. Slowly though that one hour turned into 2 and then three till she was eventually spending all her time observing the world. The hatchlings ended up getting sent to Phantom while Astral dealt with her troubles.

Flying around in neutral territory Astral suddenly began descending aimlessly and on a dangerous trajectory well at least had she been a normal dragon it would have been dangerous. To any onlooker it would look like some hatchling has fallen asleep while trying to fly home or something. Many dragons mistook Astral for a hatchling as she was very small. The real reason Astral was begging to fall out of control from the sky was simple, she didn't feel like moving anymore. Losing the will to do anything her muscles were relaxed and she hit the ground with a loud thud. Her body remained limp as if she was dead but of course she was fine physically at least. There was only one know way for a full god or goddess to die and that's if they wanted to. If you haven't figured it out already Astral had fallen into a deep depression and ending her existence was on her mind.

During the time that she has observed the world she has seen a great many horrors. She had seen so many dragons die. At first she tried to save every life she could. Would be murders were teleported into isolation. The injured Astral would teleport to herself to heal them, but she couldn't save them all. Each life lost Astral would blame herself on. She had the power to stop it but could never get to it in time. There were only two gods/goddesses that could teleport and that was Phantom and Astral, but even with this ability to get anywhere instantly Astral couldn't get to them all. Eventually Astral stopped giving mercy to those would be murderers and thiefs she killed hundreds trying to rid the world of anyone that hurt anything, but even after a month of this it didn't help anything. At this point Paradox found this the perfect opportunity to sneak in and eliminate his opposite once and for all. He beginning constantly feeding Astral hallucinating images of all the dragons Astral had seen die and all the suffering she had seen other dragons go though. Normally Astral could see right through all his illusions but she had left herself vulnerable to them. And now Paradox was near accomplishing ridding the world of his opposite. Her death would cause all of space to stop. The sun and moon would stay in its place and scorch Pyyria. The tide would stop moving in and out and the ocean currents would come to a stand still. It would probably take a good month before Astral's power could move on to another soon to be born hatchling and even then it would take time for them to learn to control their powers. Just with the passing of any full god or goddess the results would be devastating and such an outcome was close at hand. It would be a shame for the youngest of the second generation of full gods and goddesses to be the first to die not that it would compare to the destruction it would bring.

It seemed as if someone had indeed seen Astral fall from the sky not that she knew. She had shut out everything around her even her own still body. The sun seemed to slow down in the sky. At this rate the day was going to last 48 hours longer than it should. It was a sign of sorts that the goddess of the heavens wasn't doing so well. Actually knowing where she was though and finding her was a near impossible task, except for Luna who had the same omniscient curse as Astral. The poor hatchling. It pained Astral to think her baby would likely suffer a similar fate as her mother.

The thought would have never popped into the small hatchlings mind. In all her innocence she knew one truth, her mother. Opening her large bright red eyes she glanced at her neck. A grin appeared on her face. Phantom had forgot to put her scarf back on. They had trained today with their powers, each individually. Luna had done pretty well. Phantom had helped her focus on things far away, like small plants or insects. Glancing at her scarf in the back of the cave like home she knew it would be the right thing to do but why not practice a bit more. She scanned over the skies and was surprised to see her mother. Of course her mother was gonna have her alone time but this was no alone time. She didnt look happy. Watching her crash into the ground she bit on her tongue to avoid crying out for her mother. She didnt need to wake up Phantom or her siblings. Being the smallest out of all of them she found it easy to sneak out. Crawling to the edge of the cave she opened her large wings, leaping out of the cave. She was a great flier, with her large wings and small body. Flapping her wings she tried to remember the place her mother had crashed into the ground.

Flapping her wings faster she searched everywhere, her worried red eyes scanning the forests. Where was she. Was she okay. Had someone hurt her. Those were the thoughts that ran through the small young-lings mind. All she wanted to do was snuggle up to her mother, want her to feel better.

Finally seeing the small black shape on the ground the hatchling landed on the ground next to her. Luna's white scales shone in the night, sparkling unlike her mothers, who were black as night. Sometimes she wished she had black scales, so she could blend in with the night just like her mother could. If she didnt have the same ability as her mother she would have never found her. Nuzzling the side of her neck she let out a whine like sound. "Momma? Are you okay?" she asked worriedly, scared that her mother was hurt or something. Nudging her again she whimpered, scared for her mother.

It was a dark chilly night, where Ark was asleep with his mate, everything seemed to be normal, with his family silently snoozing away he awoke almost randomly, opening his eyes he had the strangest feeling, a sense of sorrow sparking in his mind. Immediately gazing around the den he spotted the others quietly stirring in the room. This feeling was certainly unique, he felt the effects circulating around in his mind, knowing something was wrong. Choosing to slowly release his hug around his mate hoping not to awake the others he crept silently towards the exit, trying the best he could gently moving his paws. Within a few moments he succeeded, reaching the entrance he gazed up towards the stars, luckily it was a clear night but the sense of sorrow became stronger, but including a slight fear of loss. Someone was in trouble!

As he turned his gaze towards the mainland, he felt almost a pulling sensation, almost like something inside him wanted to go in the direction. Suddenly he remembered a similar feeling from a long time ago.. realizing that it happened when Trinyah disappeared, he began to worry. Wondering who it could be there was only one answer, since he knew most of his family where safe... apart from one... Astral. His heart jumped into his mouth, and swiftly charged towards the direction that was pulling him. Beating his wings rapidly he used his strength to gain speed, he hoped to reach her in time. Of course not knowing her situation he couldn't help but fear for the worst.

For what seemed to be forever, he finally arrived above a forest not to far into the mainland. The sensation was at its peak, he felt that he was close, scanning the surface he managed to spot a disturbance in the treeline. Gliding towards the sight he spotted Astral laying on the ground, and seemed to be motionless. Diving towards the ground he spotted a smaller shape next to her, rubbing her neck. As he landed he noticed that she was indeed like Astral but a bright white instead, it didn't take long before he realized, it was a hatchling no doubt belonging to Astral. Frowning he crept towards them both and whispered "Hey.. Its alright... I'm Arkhor.. not sure if you've heard of me.." with a saddened voice keeping an eye on Astral he still couldn't see any live. He had to help, walking up beside her opposite to the hatchling he lowered his head placing his ear against Astral's torso, he slightly smiled at hearing a faint beating, happy to know he managed to arrive in time. He had to find the cause of the problem effecting his mother in law, checking for injuries he failed to spot any. Letting out a sigh returning to a frown, "What's your name? Do you know what happened?"

Faith was laying under a tree in the shade, the leaves of many trees turning red it was fall, the air was chilly, winter was coming, faith saw one flying in the distance before seeing it plummet to the ground raising his head he watched it fall, it looked small, tilting his head faith narrowed his silver eyes trying to make out ho it was, when the little dragon disappeared behind the trees at such terminal velocity faith was sure whoever it was just struck the ground.

Faith got up looking off towards where the hatchling sized dragon fell down to his head and eyes then gazed upwards towards the sun, squinting his eyes as he peered at the sun before looking back down to the scene where the young dragon crashed down to... taking off to the skies Faith bean to fly towards the scene where the young dragon crashed.

Upon arriving at the scene... landing a ways off looking at the dragons in the erea... faith slowly approached the dragons blocking his view of the victim... slowly Faith Walked up behind a seawing (Arkhor) looking at the other nightwing, before walking up besides the seawing and what came into view surprised Faith a little bit... "astral..." faith whispered.

Faith looked over Astral thinking for a few on what was happening, in his wisdom it did not take long, "Ah... I see..." faith said, not only was it knowledge but he can feel a change of the magic within Astral, due to his spell weaving his nature o being in tune with magic let him feel such things. faith walked around Astral head held up walking till he was in front of Astral's head looking own at her.

Faith put a paw on Astrals neck gentle resting his paw there "she is fading..." he said "giving up" he thought to himself.

Faith looked up to the Sun once again eyes narrowed almost like a glare before looking back down removing his paw from astral long down at her as if waiting...

Serafina was just flying, no aim or purpose but just for the freedom and joy it gave her. Not a thing bothered the golden, yellow skywing, not the fact she was missing her front right leg and the problems brought with it, nor the fact that she felt like she was weak apart from her large shield like wings with their feathered tips. None of it mattered to her at this moment, her mind was calm and clear her only thoughts were of the joy and wonders of the moment she was in. Sera started to sing a sweet song each word full of the joy and tranquility she felt at the moment in time.

With eyes closed she let her wings and the air currents take her where they would and when she opened them next below she spotted a small group of dragons. Still singing softly she circled round and landed near by, hopping on three legs until she brought her wings to the ground using them as a replacement for her missing leg, all the time her singing never pausing. her mind and heart were  peaceful and the other dragons would not change how she felt a the moment. Her singing changed from words to a soft humming as she observed what was happening before her.

From what Sera could tell just from watching their body language, was that something was wrong with the smaller black dragon and those around her were worried. Her mind was still calm and peaceful, she did not know this smaller black dragon nor those that around stood around her. She started to sing again for the smaller black dragon, not caring who she was or any of the others for that matter. She let her previous emotions of joy and of tranquility from her flight seep into the song. Sera did wonder if it was even reaching the smaller dragoness ears but she did not mind. Singing helped Sera when she was alone or in a difficult situation, so maybe it could help others around her. Her song held no power just the emotions that she felt in her heart.
Feeling the sun on her back she looked up at it before finally speaking without taking her eyes off the sun  and the sky "what has happened here?" Sera asked softly. She looked back at the other dragons spotting the white hatching next to the black dragoness and started humming again softly.

Astral heard one of the voices she would never forget and saw Luna walk pass her zoned out gaze to nuzzle her neck. How did she get away from Phantom was not a concern that crossed Astral's mind. "Luna." Astral called to first get her hatchling's attention. "Promise me you'll never use your power."

Other dragons arrived but she payed no attention to them. Though if she did end up making it out of this she was going to find that dragon that dare stuck his foot on her neck. Where does one even get the nerve to do that to a goddess? She would also have to introduce her hatchlings to Arkhor and his family.

Paradox was watching...he was always watching. From the very moment Astral has left herself vulnerable...from the very moment he was feeding her subconsciousness these visions, he was watching, observing all her moments. She didn't know, but he knew, he knew that at some point she would break, that she would start falling into the bottomless pit of depression. He saw how she fell from the sky, lifeless, without the will to fight anymore. He was so close, so very close to his goal. Without the one who held him in place, chaos would flood Pyyria, dragons would go insane, it would be nothing short of total anarchy...and he would be the true god he always was supposed to be...
But all this...all his glory was close to getting ruined. As well as he saw Astral giving up, he could see dragons finding her...dragons trying to help her. It would be a disaster, everything would be done for, all he worked for up to this point would have been a complete waste of time, a waste of days upon weeks upon months upon years spent in making dragons kill each other. His voice, the one of unreasoning, of madness, the one a dragon should never listen to, but always listens to in a time of desperation, was speaking to those, feeding them twisted views on the world around them, making them tools of his little game.
He couldn't allow those dragons to help Astral getting back to her feet. No, he had to stop them, no matter how high the cost. So he did the unthinkable, he revealed himself. Several feet away from the place where Astral crashed on the ground, he appeared, lifting the illusion he kept around him to make him appear invisible. Paradox knew how risky this was, he would have never revealed himself like that but he knew that this was the only way. However, despite how serious this situation was, he couldn't stop himself from grinning, enjoying this very moment in which he could witness Astral in her current condition.
He slowly floated towards the others, his grin getting wider with each foot he got closer to them. He wasn't one for walking, he always enjoyed simply hovering above the ground. As he approached them, he could clearly see who was there.
Hmm...a Nightwing, a Seawing, a Skywing and...this one looks way too similar to Astral, so it has to be her daughter...
He usually enjoyed the company of some dragons, but this time he had to get them all away from her. He needed some time to get her past the point of no return. So without further ado, he spoke directly to them, his voice sounding way too happy for this kind of situation.

Oh, my. Poor, poor Astral, what in the world just happened to you...I couldn't possibly fathom what brought you in a situation like this...
You, all you dragons over there. I want you to take a few steps back. I think Astral needs some time to be alone, to think about everything...well, at least I suggest it would be for the better of all of us.

At this statement, he couldn't help himself but chuckle at what he said. He tried to sound really concerned, although he believed it to have failed by a long shot. Soon, his chuckling turned into outright laughter, aimed for the sole purpose of further crushing Astral's beliefs. He wanted her to give up everything in the world, to give herself up to the point where she found no longer any purpose in her life. His laughter shall echo in her mind, driving her even further, showing her her own pointlessness in this world.

Faith looked to the other dragon who came along, faith smirked before looking to Astral, "you heard him step back children... give astral some space, no need to crowed astral you can get your autographs later." faith said with a silent chuckle. "mommy and daddy need to talk" he said before looking to this new figure before stepping back away from astral standing there looking at the dragon (paradox) and astral

Too many things were happening at once and the small little dragon barely heard her mother, her words making tears spring from the corners of her eyes. Taking a deep breath Luna turned to the other dragons, her red eyes scanning all of them. Growling low she opened her mouth and emitted a loud screech, something she only used to get her mother to help her. Her screech hurt other dragons ears, though her mother and father heard it as a call of danger. "Get away from my mommy!!!" she screamed to all of them before beginning to screech again. The little hatchling couldnt do anything but screech as the monster of a dragon arrived. No one seemed to notice the problem with her mother other than the one known as Faith. A low growl emit from her throat again and the hatchling shook her head.


"You are not getting anywhere close to my mother you demon!" she shrieked to the dragon. Charging up her fire blast she shot a large fire ball at the male, hoping to hit him straight in the chest. No, no one was touching her mother other than her. Sniffling she nuzzled her mother. "Dont worry mommy I will protect you" she whispered to her, glaring at the male dragon with angry red eyes.

Ark glanced around as a crowd began forming almost randomly, most of which he didn't know. frowning he kept his guard up, not knowing their true intention. When a dark figure appeared close by making claims to leave Astral alone, immediately he didn't trust him and snarled slightly towards him. Moments later Luna began screeching, clearly scared and worried about her mother. Deciding to take action he stood in front of Astral blocking the dark figure from getting to close, then shouting to Luna "Hey! don't worry I won't let anything happen to Astral" turning back towards the figure "What have you done? and who are you?"

Paradox looked down at the young dragon as she shot a fireball at him. As the fireball reached him, it passed through him and his very form started to flicker.
Please, don't be so mean to me, young one, I am not here to attack your mother. I promise, I won't lay a claw on her.
It was not a lie as he would not dare attacking Astral, not physically that is, however, with each moment passing he assaulted Astral mentally, feeding her images and "memories of the passed ones" to prevent a sudden return.
After that little incident with the fireball, his less flickering form, which was simply an illusion as he stood invisible next to it, spoke up once again, this time to the Seawing.
Oh, I'm so sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. You see, I am not used to others actually asking for my name since they do not really, you know, see me. I am Paradox, and it's nice to meet all of you.
After that, the illusion dove into the ground below him which acted like water out of the sudden. As he emerged,, he had a fish half his size in his teeth.
It was all fake of course but none of them would know, except Astral who was "busy" at the moment.

Sera ignored that dragon that had appeared telling them to back away. She hadn't even done any thing and hadn't even gone that close. But from the reactions from those around her she had realized that the smaller black dragon was more important then she had first thought. Looking at the hatching trying her best to defend her mother, Sera backed up a bit more to obey the little one before turning to glare at the who had appeared after her. Sighing mentally, Sera transferred her weight to her single front leg so that she left her wings free to defend, if she needed to. She was slightly annoyed at the situation shee had gotten herself in but was still calm for now, to not let it show. Frowning at the dragon who called himself Paradox, after he had resurfaced with a fish "now is not the time for eating you moron, your the one that might as well leave, the hatchling don't like you and neither do i" Sera said with a hiss.  Mind you a female dragon glaring with a missing leg probably doesn't look all that intimidating that and the fact Paradox was almost twice the size of her.

Gojira was flying around the area, looking for anything to hunt. He landed on a small hill and scanned the area. He saw a group of dragons nearby, so to decided to investigate. He walked over there, knocking over some trees along the way or stepping on the smaller ones. When he got there, he saw a female Lightwing mouthing off to a rather threatening rogue. He decided to just observe what will happen. Only stepping in if things get dangerous

[OOC: Gojira there isn't a single LightWing in this topic]

Paradox made a huge mistake. Had he not made this mistake it is likely he would have won. Paradox revealed himself to everyone. Astral hadn't really noticed till Luna started freaking out. At that point Astral knew his involvement. His illusions would no longer work on her. Even so she was still in a pit of deep depression. Assuming Paradox was behind this helped give her a little motivation not to lose but it wasn't enough to really do anything in itself. The dragons had switched their attention from her to Paradox. Apparently the god of chaos better deserved their attention than a dying Astral. None of them had really tried to comfort her at all except the SkyWing who Astral didn't even recognize.

(OOC:well now, I thought Serafina was a lightwing because of the yellow. I am more used to light elementals being yellow XD)

Up in the sky, an ice blue shape glided on a warm updraft of wind, looking at the ground below her musingly. She appreciated the feel of her still-wet scales drying in the wind. She's taken a dip in a frozen lake earlier in the day. Or, she'd attempted to. Then Frostbite and some other IceWing had interrupted. The nerve! She couldn't even swim anymore without getting babied. Snorting in indignation, Wisp shook her head and returned her gaze to the ground below her. It was then an array of colors caught her eye. A black dragon seemed to be laying on the ground far below, surrounded by the forms of many other dragons, from at least three different tribes. What's going on here? she thought, angling downward and curling a bit to get a closer look.
The black one was in pain, it seemed to her. Her expression morphing into one of concern, Wisp finally made up her mind, diving down like a shot and snapping her wings open at the last second. Her usual pranksterish manner was suddenly serious. She made her way over to the dragons, gently crawling around the largest blue one to look at the black dragon, tipping her head to the side and lowering it a bit to look at her. She was young, but she knew her uppers in life. Therefore, she knew without a dobt that this was a goddess. As for such one, she could only hanker at a guess. "Are you okay?" She asked in an almost whispered voice, ignoring the voices of the other dragons present.

Paradox knew too well the risks of showing himself to everyone. He knew that it could have destroyed everything he built up to now...

All those years back, whenever Astral was too busy with other concerns, he was able to spread chaos, at least a bit, influencing one dragon at a time, never too much as not to be found. Not once did he reveal himself to the world. The mad dragons tried to make any kind of picture of him to visualize their "god". No one ever believed them, they were insane after all, and this was how Paradox spent the last eons under Astral's watchful eyes. It was a life of discomfort for him. Of course, he would have liked to roam free a bit more but he knew Astral's harsh judgment would come like that. So he had to hide himself, hide for what seemed like an eternity, waiting and watching for the one moment when Astral was vulnerable...

After reminiscing in the past, Paradox shook his head. No, nothing was wrong with revealing himself. Astral, as far as she's really paying attention, knew by now that it was all his doing. But he was certain that he'd still win. He had the attention of all the dragons, except the newest Icewing addition, and none, not even Astral's own daughter, was caring for her right now. All eyes were now fixed on him...rather the mirage of him, but it was the same.
Going on with his antics, the fish started jumping out of the illusion's jaws before growing wings and flying away.
Well, so much for a quick snack in the middle of the heat. Well, it can't be helped. Anyway, I don't really understand your problem. Here I am, trying to help Astral, and everyone reacts so hostile towards me. So much for dragon society, still as hostile as it was hundreds of years ago. Anyway, what do you expect me to do, now that you all appeared?
As if on cue, a little pink cloud appeared next to Paradox. As he summoned a glass in his claw, the cloud started raining a brown liquid into the glass, however, the glass was filled upside down with the liquid.
As he started drinking, he did not drink the liquid, but rather the glass. As the god of chaos looked once more at the liquid, he merely shrugged and threw it over the shoulder where it made a small explosion.
These were but mere antics of Paradox since he knew that everyone here will take it as real.

Shutting her eyes, Sera pushed the things Paradox was doing from her mind. They were just confusing her  and staring to annoy her more. Instead she just growled at him once more before turning back to the smaller black dragon and sat down next to her and drapped a wing over the dragon. Not sure how she or the hatchling would react to that though. Sera knew it could help sheild the pair to a degree so why not. Starting to sing again, helped to clear her mind and be able to deal with the fact Paradox was doing some weird things. Things that dragon was doing was making her mind freak out so she rathered to ignored him if she could at lest then her mind wouldn't be in caos like it would be if she kept watching. Looking at the smaller black dragon and he hatchling. After this she was so going to find somewhere she didn't get herself into random situations "Young one don't shoot any flames at me, i won't hurt you or your mother.. if you trust me i will show you something interesting once werdo over there is gone".
Sera smiled at the pair thinking she might as well do something for the little one also if it stopped her from shooting any flames or anything else at her for drapping a wing over her mother then Sera wouldn't complain. She had also decided if she ignored Paradox maybe he would go away and take those weird things he was doing with him.

Frowning towards the new dragon called Paradox, knowing that he must have something to do with Astral's wellbeing. Turning back to face Astral he gently moved his snout close to her ear, "Come on Astral! You can beat this, after all you part of a family who care for you. Whatever this guy has said or done" He whispered, Quickly checking on Paradox no doubt he heard him since he clearly rivalled Astral, with divine powers. Choosing to ignore most of the other dragons he focused on Paradox waiting for his next move, since he hasn't done anything aggressive he guessed he relied on his powers, of yet where still unknown to Ark.

A little IceWing showed up. She reminded Astral of Trinyah before she adopted her. Ever since Trinyah died it left a hole in Astral one that had never been filled. If she had been in a better mood she might have stolen the hatchling on the spot. Course even she wouldn't get away with stealing someones hatchling. Kazumi would chew her out something fierce.

The little IceWing wasn't the only stranger to show concern. A SkyWing also showed it support by draping a wing over Astral and singing rather pleasantly. Arkhor turned his attention back to her and tried to motivate her. All this attention did though was make Astral feel guilty for being in such a state. They might end up guilting her into not giving up but she would remain just as depressed. It would be no different from being dead, with the exception of the chaos that would follow. Astral idly wondered if that was the only reason the strangers were trying to comfort her. They did realize that in this depressed state she wouldn't have the motivation to stop chaos. Oh wait they didn't even know about him. Well she knew and she knew it would be quicker to put him back in check just by dying. Astral knew for sure Nimbus didn't care. Even broke his promise to take her on a date.

The name Astral hit Wisp's ears, and she tipped her head a bit. This was Astral? The goddess of the stars? She remembered stories she'd been told as a hatchling about her, back when Wisp was the IceWing basket case, the orphan hatchling. She'd never thought she'd see Astral with her own eyes, however. This seemed to make the trainee all the more determined that Astral get up. She hadn't spoken to her, but Astral had looked at her. That had to be a good sign, right? She glanced back at the other dragons around, her gaze curious. "What's wrong with her?" She asked. "Is there any way we can help her?"

Paradox was planning...he was looking forward for executing the final blow that would push Astral beyond the cliff of depression...into her own death. He has waited so long for that one single opportunity to get rid of her finally, to be free once and for all.
But then, he realized something...something so obvious that it should have hit him long before this all started. It was the single basic rule of gods and goddesses regarding their powers.

If I let her die now, it won't be long until someone new comes across, inheriting her powers...knowing about forcing me away...and then all this will start again. And even if the outcome will be the same, it will continue to restart over and over again...this is driving even me crazy.
...But wait...if I make it look like I save her, like I would actually care for her...maybe she will let me a bit more loose...and eventually, I will be able to turn her to my side...and then, I will be free forever. With her by my side, nothing will stop me and then the Age of Eternal Chaos will begin...

He quickly formulated a new plan, instead of playing the trickster, he would be the great savior, the one who saved Astral from her depressive thoughts. He thought about getting on Astral's good side...and there was only possible way at the moment. He had to dispel all his illusions and let go of his influence of her.
Somehow, he was regretting this already as he would spend more time restrained, with close to no opportunity to spread chaos. But it would be a better plan in the long run, so he went for that.

Putting on a concerned look on his face, he approached Astral slowly, trying not to draw anymore aggro from her daughter or the other dragons. Going down on one knee, he started to whisper into Astral's ear, loud enough for the others closer around him to hear it.

I know what you're thinking, Astral, but I am not behind all this. We both know that I could not do something like this, especially to you. But, if you would allow it, I would try to help you. You can see that this world needs you, your hatchlings need you. We all need you, and even if it's hard to admit for me, I am really concerned for you. So please, let me help you...
