A New Companion (Private - Icewing Leaders, Mel)

After many weeks spending time with Melody he asked her to be his mate, with her agreeing he had to talk to the leaders to see if she could live with him. Blizzard was returning to the palace with Melody landing in the main courtyard he greeted some others and asked where to find Frost or Snow, he decided to head towards the main chamber. He then spotted both leaders who seemed to be talking over something no doubt over the tribe. he walked up close by with Melody on his neck, "Errr Frost? Snow?... I need to ask you something" he asked nervously awaiting to be noticed.

Frostflare raised her head to the sound and turned around to see Blizzard. "Ahh, yes? What do you need? Also why is this dragon on my territory and who are they? Not to be rude, but I like to know my visitors before they come visiting." She told the Icewing.

Blizzard sighed, "Yeah... I'm sorry, this is Melody" he slightly frowned clearly nervous. He started to blush and continued "Sh.... She and I want to be together... So I came to ask if it was alright if she lived with me" He continued to look at the ground, hoping for a good answer. He turned to greet Mel giving her a nuzzle, she must have been scared being with all the larger dragons.

Melody was standing beside Blizzard, trembling from all of the dragons around her. Working, laughing, playing. Each taller than her. She is nuzzled and relaxes a bit, leaning against Blizzard's leg. "W-.. well.. we do.. an-and I um... I wa-want to love wi-with Blizz-zaard..." She stuttered and shrinked back, whimpering.

Frostflare greatly cofuzed upon what the small dragon had said. "So, you want to be an Icewing? If that is the case, I am glad to let you join. BUT there are somethings that i would like to make sure you can do first before I let you join. If you know what I mean, no tribe needs a burden. Not that you are one, I just need to make sure that you won't be one! Is that fine?" She told the Icewing and rouge. Waiting for an answer, she took a quick moment to push some of her silver main out of her face.

Blizzard smiled when he heard Mel say that she loved him, turning towards Frost he replied "Yeah... that should be alright, but she can always help me maintain this place and making weapons." Blizzard's heart leaped with joy, it seemed like Mel was welcome she just needed to prove herself. Which hopefully it wasn't anything to serious for the little dragon. Returning his snout back towards Mel he noticed that she was still scared, he lifted up his paw and stroked her gently, he didn't want her to feel scared.

Melody rubbed her back against Blizzard's paw for comfort and then realized that she needed to do something. "No- No. i won't be a burden. I want to work eith Blizzard and help." She stated, her voice getting clearer and clearer. She walked up to Frost and looked up.

SnowFall was happily chatting with Frostflare, talking about tribe stuff when her younger brother, Blizzard, appeared with a small female dragon behind him. Snow got up, "Blizzard who is this?" Her younger brother answered, saying that he and the dragon, Melody, were mates. Snow relaxed. At least she wasn't an intruder or rogue. She noticed that Mel was a bit shy. Snow crouched down to her height and told her, "Melody, my name is SnowFall, one of the queens. I am Blizzard's older sister. So that means I'm you sister in law. It's nice to meet ya Mel! And don't worry, all the ice dragons here are really nice." She got up and congratulated her brother, "Congratulation Blizzard! I give you permission to let Melody stay as long as she wants. Snow turned to Frost, "I trust my brother that bringing Melody in will not be a burden. She can stay Frost," she smiled at Melody.

Frostflare hissed. "I dare NOT bring a burden into MY kingdom. I don't care who's brother's mate she is she needs to be able to prove to me that she can do some simple things! As I said, I don't want a burden who can't fight, hunt, and withstand the cold! That would be a wastes of resources! Just because you are one of the two queens Snowfall doesn't mean that YOU control everything. Remember this is my kingdom two, and I'm not going to let a burden absorb our resources. Now Melody, follow me to prove that you can do these simple little things that all adult dragons can do." She walked up to the small dragon and starred down on her as she whipped her tail viciously.

Melody looked at Snow and dipped her head in respect before backing up to Blizzard. Frost was officially freaking her out. "What do I do?" She whispered. Certainly, Melody was capable of doing things on her own, but this?

Frostflare spoke. "Come melody, it will only be a few minutes, and you won't have to do the battle test since Snow, and Blizzard trust you so much. Just the hunting in cold weather. Ready?" She didn't mind a new dragon, she just didn't want a dragon that could not perform those tasks. Believing that melody could do it, she smiled and walked to the edge of a cliff, waiting for melody to fly out and catch something.

Melody npdded and followed Frost, taking off the ledge of the palace. Obviously, she didn't want to hunt. Kill tiny animals? Who could possibly be sweet? Or a relative of Patches? Shrugging, she glided along with no issue. She was ussd to the cold. She was formed in a cold cave, she lived in a cold cave. The small dragoness got a look of sadness on her face as she swooped down on a wild boar that was abput half her size.

Frostflare nodded as the caught the boar. She waited to see what she would do with the small animal next. Frostflare flew by, but not to close to her to see what she was doing. When she examined closer she noticed that the animal was not yet dead, confused, Frostflare waited.

Melody glanced at Frostflare and swiftly bit the boar's throat, holding it until the animal stopped squirming. She wonced at the taste of blood. Dropping the animal, she spat the poor thing's blood out and picked it up, flying back up to the palace and setting it down, panting. The boar was heavy, considering her size.

SnowFall winced at Frost shouts towards her, "That's not what I meant Frostflare. I do not want burden upon our kingdom either, but I do think that Melody is a rightful dragon to be here. Never mind Frostflare.. But stop the shouting, it's creeping Melody out," as she looked at the small dragon with concern. After this small incident, Frost decided to have a hunting test. The white dragon went out with Frostflare, Melody, and Blizzard. Snow sat down and overlooked the hunt. Mel was doing well. Her hunting skills were amazing for one so small like her. After killing the boar, she successfully brought it back to the palace, "Great job Melody!" Snow was awed at her skills of a tracker. Even she couldn't do well on the first time she hunted alone. She turned to Frost, "I think she did really well Frostflare, what do you think?"

Melody smiled weakly and looked at Snowfall. "Tha-thank you ma'am.. I mean.. your h-highness.. I mean.. um.. queen.. uhh.. sister.. um.." she stuttered. She had no idea whatsoever how tribes worked. Or how the dragons' greetings work. She turned and glided up to Blizzard, nuzzling him and sitting on his head.

Blizzard was shocked at how Frost was treating Melody, after all she was a guest. Later turning towards Snow "Thanks Snow" smiling towards his sister and was happy to being accepted with Mel. Frost decided to do a hunting test with Melody, his heart sank knowing that she didn't eat animals he thought she wouldn't be able to hunt. Afterwards he was proved wrong, he frowned slightly knowing that she in fact liked all animals it would have been hard to kill one. His feelings where mixed slightly feeling sorry for Mel going through the task but happy that she would do anything to be with him.

When Mel flew up to him he smiled and nuzzled her back, helping her to sit on his head. he spoke to Frost "Will I think she has proved herself... even though she is gona help me with my work..." he sighed hoping that Mel was alright.

Melody got up and climbed next to Blizzard's ear, trying to act as though she was just trying to cuddle. "Blizzard... they made me kill that poor thing.. I-I didn't want to.." she whispered and almost started crying. Killing an animal is not something Melody would do. Anything for Blizzard, though.

Blizzard frowned gazing upwards towards her, "I'm sorry Mel..." extending his paw to stroke her he didn't want her to be upset. "I'm here with ya, I will never ask you to kill anything..." he smiled slightly awaiting for frosts or Snow answer.

Frostflare gave her a nod of approval. "I think she did great especially for her size. She is welcomed to the Icewings, but yet I am confuzed of why you are crying? Are you sad, or are those tears of joy? Is there anything wrong?" she questioned the new Icewing. If this dragon didn't eat meat, then what did it eat? She sat and waited for the dragon to answer.

Melody closed her eyes and sniffed. "I'm not crying.. I.. I mean.. well.. there's nothing wrong.. just glad to live with Blizzard. Thank you very much." She said after moving away from Blizzard's ear.

Frostflare looked at her. "Ok, I am glad to have you join the tribe. You can diet off of whatever you want, so don't be dissapointed if the only animal you can catch is a boar, but if you eat something else just go with it. Anyways, welcome! What rank do you choose?" Proving worthy to frost, she asked the young female what rank she wanted.

Blizzard smiled happy that she was now accept, he began to feel excited to show her the palace, especially his work. Giving her another nuzzle and a lick, "Thats great news! Think I better show you the rest of the palace." he nodded and smiled towards Snow & Frost, "Thanks guys..."

Melody tilted her head. "I eat gems. Aand what ranks are there?" The dragoness asked. If she chose a rank, what if it wasn't right for her? What if it only consisted of killing innocent creatures? Melody would never be able to do such a thing as a job. Certainly, she would help the tribe to her best ability, but that?

SnowFall was happy to see Frostflare accept Melody and was also in joy to see her brother happy with his mate. She was a bit confused on what Melody ate. "Gems?!" Snow forgot about it, leaving to it that Mel would be able to control her own diet. She responded and also answered her question, "Melody, you don't need to put a polite greeting towards me. We're sisters! Besides, my older sister, Frostbite, is not even CLOSE to intoducing me politely." Snow grinned and petted Melody's head gently, hoping not to frightened her, "And the tasks: We have tracker, which hunt for food. I don't think you'll like that since you already hate hunting. There's being a gaurdian, which is gaurding the borders and defending off enemies. I don't think you'll enjoy that one either. You're mate is a Vulcan, which helps create tools for the tribe. And the other is a healer. Solstice is the healer, but you could be an apprentice I guess? I don't know. You can decided, but don't let it get onto your mind too much. Now, Blizzard, you can go show my new sister the way around. And, I grant you permission to let her be in your den."
