Question about new ability's and dragon points

How does this work?I did read that it's possible to gain new ability's but how much do they cost?
Can they cover previous weaknesses?
Does something special have to happen before?
And how are dragon points earned?

This is everything you can get with  Dragon Points and how much they cost. Once you've gotten enough points to trade in for an ability, you post it here http://www.rpgdragons.org/f78-ability-creation for staff to look at and approve before you can add it to your app.

Nothing special has to happen  to your character before they can use it. I'm not sure what you mean by covering previous weaknesses. Thanks, i wasn't able to find this trough the search engine.
And with "Covering previous weaknesses" i mean something like if your Dragon is weak to (For exampel) fire, could you later get an ability which somewhat mitigates that?Or would you have to add a new weakness in this case?

Hm. That would depend on how much, the dragon's inheritance (whether it is purebred or a hybrid), and the ability itself. Without knowing what you have in mind, it's kinda hard to say for sure. Having a weakness to balance out your abilities is always a good idea.
