Finding a Tribe (Icewings only)

It was cold. Not the normal cold either. It was really cold! Cold enough that Snowblaze had begun to feel it. Then again, she was only a quarter Icewing. Either way, she was dead set on finding more Icewings. It was clear that just hunkering down wasn’t going to cut it, and if the Icewings were going to survive as a tribe they needed to come together. Sadly, she hadn’t found a single soul. All the strange dragon could do was keep searching. With any luck, she’d at least find clues.

Atarijor didn't know what to make of what Virgo was doing feeling around the ice. What she did next, however, was familiar. She was trying to push a heavy door open. The Wyvern went over and began pushing against it with much less effort. "Wyvern help." he said in dragon tongue. When the door was open, Virgo spoke. She sounded happy. He didn't know what one of the words she said was, though. The Wyvern looked at the cave. Suddenly, flashes of the mines and caves he lived and worked in ran through his mind. He found himself looking around for humans and the harness he usually wore when working. "Atarijor work here?"

Virgo smirked. The reactions of the two dragons was rather adequate. She herself, she had to admit, had been pretty smitten when she had visited this place first as well. And they hadn’t even seen the interior. As flawed as the IceWings were, she had to admit, at least one of the former leaders had been pretty good at planning ahead when it came to speculating possible emergencies. Perhaps that was due to all the assassination attempts in ancient IceWing history. Regardless, Virgo had been eternally grateful to the vault when the monsters arrived. To bad it had happened so quickly she hadn’t been able to formerly escort everyone to flee here.

“Impressive, isn’t it?” she mused to herself. Just standing outside made her feel warmer already. She glanced back at the other two, and nodded at Atarijor. Even though he and her rarely seemed to understand each other, at least the wyvern seemed to have some idea of what was going on, which Virgo was grateful for. She didn’t speak a smidget of human. Though, thinking about what the wyvern’s past must have been like… was admittedly rather sad.

She glanced back at Snowblaze and Atarijor again, and gestured inside. “Come, we best hurry. While the entrance is concealed by camoflauge and magic, I don’t know what a high level monster could do to this place if they discovered us here. Hurry, hurry!” she said, rushing the two in with quick words, heading deeper into the cavernous depths of the safety vault. When the other two were fully inside, the doors seemed to move back to place by themselves.

The inside was much warmer than the outside, but not to a point of being uncomfortable. And although it was fully lighted, the fact that there was no natural light made the scenery seem eerie and unnatural. Virgo decided to show them around the cavern. They might as well know all the ups and downs of everywhere. It seemed that, afterall, this might be their place of residence for a while.

The main pathway would head deeper for several hundred feet, then split into three different hallways that lead to large chambers. One chamber was the sleeping quarters, another was the kitchen, a third was the study. The study lead deeper into a smaller chamber, which seemed to be a private room for the head ruler, filled with various smaller items. The kitchen was stocked, surprisingly, with frozen meats that were meant to be thawed and eaten. There was also another chamber off the kitchen, which seemed to be an empty room with no designated purpose yet.

Once they were done with the tour, Virgo lead the others to the sleeping chamber room, and glanced up at them with almost sparkling eyes, filled with that glimmer of youthfulness. “I’m…. glad that I was able to find you. Perhaps…. Now, we can finally start making an effort… to take back our tribe.” Virgo said hesitantly.

Perhaps now, they might stand a chance.

Snowblaze looked in awe at the eerily lit walls of the hallway they walked down. Her mind kept switching between emotional spitfire to cold and calculated. It was annoying, but her mind was just racing. She couldn’t control it! Even if this was it, it was home. Thankfully, their was more.

A kitchen, storage for food, sleeping quarters, a study. This place was like a full den! It still amazed the odd dragoness to know this was here. After the tour, Virgo led them into the sleeping chamber again. The sudo-leader then expressed how happy she was to have found Snowblaze and Atarijor. The dragoness smiled, her mind settling on being emotional. She then spoke, eyeing both other dragons. ”Yeah! I was almost convinced that I was the last of us before finding the two Atarijor, and you. I hope you’re Virgo. That our tribe can be brought back.”

At Virgo's urging, Atarijor moved as fast as he could, for fear of punishment if he was too slow. Once inside, the Wyvern did not appear as impressed or excited as his companions. He couldn't be. Such emotions were foreign and unknown to him. But he did react to the room filled with meat. There was more than he had ever seen or eaten in his life. He wondered if he would be allowed any, or if he would be given the scraps leftover after everyone else ate. In the sleeping area, he took a spot along the wall and curled up as tightly as possible. He didn't know what to say in response to Virgo, nor if he should, so he remained quiet.
