Personality: From the moment Gyr learned about flying, he knew that he wanted to spend his life in the sky. He'll spend much of his free time flying and gliding around SkyWing territory. When he's not flying he'll be training. He takes everything happening in the tribe to heart. If the tribe is suffering, he is suffering, if the tribe loses a battle, he'll take it as a personal loss, if the tribe is prospering, he'll be happy and content. He thinks of his tribe like family, and would do anything to protect them.
Interests:
Flight- He'll spend hours doing all sorts of tricks or simply gliding around. He has accidentally traveled outside of SkyWing territory when he was younger, but he takes care to stay close after a rouge attacked him.
Travel: Gyr loves traveling around and exploring new places, and he'll often take any opportunity to do so.
Training: Gyr wants to be able to protect his tribe to the best of his abilities. He'll train everyday to make sure that he's not failing his tribe.
Dislikes:
Humans- He's had bad experiences with them, and wishes that they'd just go and die.
Firewings- They could easily burn his feathers off and leave him flightless for a whole week!
Threats to the SkyWings- Being as devoted to his tribe as he is, any threat to his tribe is a threat to him.
Fears:
Birds: Very irrational, but Gyr is absolutely terrified of them. He doesn't like the fact that the small things look and fly somewhat like dragons. He'll also refuse to eat them.
Having his tribe destroyed: Given his personality this is to be expected.

General Appearance
Height: 39ft, nearing the maximum size of the small SkyWings
Scales: Some scales are different shades of blue while others are white.
Eyes: Lake Blue
Appearance: Gyr has very large but smooth scales. His wings are much like the bird he was named for, the gyrfalcon, but with feathers the same colors as his scales. He has two small yellowish horns at the top of his head that aren't particularly sharp or useful, and he has very sharp, bird like talons. He also has a silver arrow shaped weapon at the end of his tail.

Skills and Abilities
Strengths:
Physical strength- Of course this is just relative, but Gyr is more powerful than the average SkyWing.
Special Abilities:
Healing Rest: Gyr can heal himself or another creature slowly over time. He and the dragon being healed fall into a deep sleep. He and anyone being healed cannot be woke up without using strong magic until everything is completely healed. For Gyr a few minor wounds will take anywhere from a day to a week, regaining feathers will take from two days to four days and serious injuries like broken bones could take months to years. For anyone else, being healed by Gyr takes about 33% longer.
Weaknesses:
Anything that prevents him from flying- His combat ability is almost entirely dependent on his flight.
SeaWings- Gyr's feathers may be water resistant but a rock is probably better at water combat than he is.
Combat Style: Gyr leads his enemy as high into the sky using his wind. If the enemy is much stronger and larger than he is, Gyr will use his flight speed to his advantage, zipping around and clawing at the enemy. If the enemy if weaker than Gyr will go all out with his talons, tail, and fangs.

Background
History: Gyr was born into the SkyWing tribe. As a trainee he disliked members of his tribe that weren't pure blood SkyWings. He often explored outside his territory. He had a few minor encounters with humans, but he finally stopped after a SkyWing rouge nearly killed him and an EbonWing rouge saved him. He now believes that blood doesn't make you what you are, your loyalities do.
RP Sample: Opening his eyes and looking out into the bright sunset, Gyr spread his wings and jumped off. He smiled, the wind in his wings being the best feeling he had ever experienced. The SkyWings were currently at peace, and it was a nice pleasure to not have to worry about his tribe getting harmed. It would rain soon, he could feel it in the air, but he would enjoy this moment while it lasted. As he knew that he would be training himself as soon as he got back. It would be horrible to be the burden of the tribe, and Gyr wanted to keep everyone safe.
