Thanks for your help Baldira. Do, I have to read any of the invasion stuff that is mentioned as proof of the current map? <-- Its posted as a link at the bottom of the current map.

Wondering if that stuff is necessary information for me to build a character or if it is stuff that I can 'skip' and not worry about...

No, that's nothing to worry about. The only info you need for building your character can be found in the character creation template and the New Members Guide.
