Alone in the night. [Privat - those invited already know]

The night were young, dark clouds covering the skies outside the Shadow's refuge. The refuge seemed quiet as the guards were on duty, the maids sleeping. perhaps even those who lived there, were sleeping. So quiet it was.

On the floor inside Lacrimosa's room was she layd, her head digged in some books and a small candle being light besides the books, making the mirros light up aswell as the crystals hanging from her roof. Her yellow eyes wandering over the text in the books before she'd get up on her feet. Blowing out the light from the candle as she'd take the books. Slowly making her way outside her room, and to the libary, the hour was really late, and she tried to be as quiet as possible.

The sound of her feet over the floor would make a faint ecco through the halls, everything was so quiet.

"Try not to wake them" Was her thoughts as she walked the long way to the libary. At every corner she'd look from side to side, checking if there was anyone there, almost as she tried to advoid any contact with other dragons.

Vesanus lay awake, almost in some form of meditation within his chambers. Relaxed yet not asleep, the close to pleasant feeling of knowing he would soon find rest. His mind wandered from subject to subject, the various tribes, the supremacy of the Nightwings, his adpoptive siblings ...

Vesanus paused for a brief moment, a distant memory coming into fruition. How old would his real brother and sister have been now? True they would have been the same age as him but ...

"You don't even know your own age ...".

Vesanus let out a sigh in silent agreement. He hadnt even known his parents, let -

Vesanus raised his head, an idea forming. How could it have taken this long? He had read a number of books in the library regarding other tribes but why had he not researched his parents? True, the information was far more likely to be found in some form of archive, but Vesanus did not want to wake his father at this late hour. Besides, his mind was now in full flow! He needed the answers.

Vesanus slowly rose from the ground, a small wince as always as the part of his underbelly that was scared and without scales felt a change in weight. He allowed himself a short brief stretch before making his way towards the door of his sanctum, and made haste for the library. He was quieter than normal, but cared not for waking anyone accidentally spare his father.

Finally she reached the libary, her gaze moving around studying the corners for any dragons spying on her, she didn't trust so many.. Not now.. not at this hour, why? she did not know. After a few minutes standing, observing the room, she walked inside the large hall that hosted the libary.

She'd start move herself to the shelfs of books, reading over the titles before placing the books into the shelf at the correct order. Her gaze then moves to other books reading their titles aswell. A low sigh would be heard from her, as she'd move herself away from the shelf and to other books on the other side. Her focus is taken by this 'mission' to find a good book for the night.

"Come on.. come on.. History of-.. no thats boring.. what about.. Elixirs for beginners-.. even more boring.." She'd mutter for herself before moving future away from the doorway and into the libary. Her head swinging slightly from side to side as she walks.

Vesanus finally reached the doorway to the library, and moved to open the door when he realised it had been left slightly open. Moving his face closer to the gap to peer inside, Vesanus saw no lighting. Strange. Perhaps the door had simply been left unlocked by one of the guards. Vesanus shrugged to himself thinking nothing more of the matter, opening the door and making his way inside, moving slowly at first allowing his eyes to adjust the the darkness of the room.

As he moved further into the room, Vesanus gained a better idea of his surroundings. He made out the lettering that displayed the ordering of the books and started towards the section that contained the information on the Nightwing tribe.

All of the while Vesanus made as little noise as possible. Though he doubted it, there was still a chance of a spy or assassin in the library, though what their purpose in such a room would be he had little idea of. Finally reaching the Nightwing section, Vesanus looked up at the collection of book and let out faint sigh. With it being a Nightwing library he should have realised the majority of the books would hold information on Nightwings in one way or another. It was going to take a while to find what he was looking for ...

As Vesanus entered the libary, Lacrimosa were already at a new section of books, she'd move her right paw up to take one of the books out, opening it on a random page to read a few lines. While she is doing this her head would be leaned slightly to the right. She had not yet noticed Vesanus, her brother as she were focused on the book in her paw. A low sigh would ecape her mouth as she closes the book. Only to place it back on the shelf.

After a few seconds she'd move herself over the floor again to another line of books, letting her yellow eyes running over the books for a few seconds before taking one of them out, aswell as alot of dust. Must be an old book. she'd sqeeze her eyes together as the dust gets 'thrown' in her direction, followed by her moving backwards dropping the book, only to shortly after starting to sneeze. In her sneeze a small flame would be spried out, only a few inces an nothing damaging towards the old books infront of her.

After the sneezing she'd shake her head to get the rest of the dust away from her face. "Someone-.. really-.. need to-.. clean this place." she'd mumble low for herself only.

Vesanus mumbled to himself as he placed another book back in place. No, the 'complete history of the Nightwings' wasn't what he needed right now. He moves his talons gently over the spines of the books, reading the titles to himself in his head when his head snapped in the direction of a sound made at the other end of the library.

"Someone else is in here!"

A few short seconds later the faint yet distinctive smell of smoke reached his nostrils. It took Vesanus a moment before he turned and charged in the direction of the noise and smell, abandoning all stealth as the lumbering form collided with numerous book shelves, often knocking some of the content out of place, as he raced towards the destination as quickly as he could.

"How dare they! Someone is trying to burn down the library!"

Vesanus became even more angered as he rounded the final corner. Sure enough he noticed the form of someone else and charged at them before giving himself chance to identify who it was. He roared aggressively as he collided with the other drake, and attempted to pin them to the ground.

Lacrimosa shakes her head once again, to get the final dust of her face, then looking back up, to the shelf, checking it for burn marks, then looking down at the book she dropped. Very slowly she'd reach her paw down to take a gentle grib in the book, not to damage it with her claws. Moving it to the shelf to place it back on. Bursting it for dust.

The sound of someone approaching would be heard all over the libary as Vesanus makes his way to her location. "What-.. who's that?" her thoughts was a mere second before the figure of Vesanus gets into her view. Already knowing his figure and his personality, his way to walk. She didn't seem to find him threatning as he makes his way around the corner. However when he charges she'd widen her eyes, trying to have a grib in the ground to advoid falling onto the ground as he collides into her body.

As Vesanus collides into her she'd not fall but stumble over the floor, only losing the balance for a few seconds before trying to gain it again. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" her voice reaching up, yelling the words out, in case he didn't hear her. As she yells the words she'd try to bash him backwards with her bodymass, to get distance to him. If this succed she'd move herself backwards and away from him.

Vesanus collided with the intruder, and to his dismay, wasn't strong enough to knock his opponent to the ground. He would growl aggressively, lowering his head ready to charge again when he heard a very familiar voice call out. Wait, was that Lacrimosa?

In the time it took Vesanus to understand who had spoken, his sister had knocked him backward, allowing some distance to be created between the two Nightwings. Vesanus narrowed his eyes until he ensured that the drake before him was in fact his sister, before widening his right eye.

Vesanus dipped his head apologetically, almost ashamed to have attempted to injur his kin without reason. "Lacrimosa! Please, forgive me. I thought you were an intruder, sent to destroy the collection of knowledge!".

Vesanus kept his head low, not daring to move until his sister spoke to him, almost a sign of submission rather than an apology.

As Vesanus realise who he were attacking, Lacrimosa slowly moved forth to him. He seemed so Sumbissive. Why? was she that itimidating? She'd shake her head slowly in her walk, seeming to be 'talking' to herself in her own mind. "Do not worry, it was only me.. I'm sorry if I scared you.. Sometimes I can't control my flames" The last words almost a whispering, emberesed about this.

When standing infront of him, Lacrimosa looked bigger, even when her whole body would be crimped together, trying to make herself smaller then she is. The corner of her mouth slowly forms into a smile. Observing her brother for the momet, studying him, only to soon after move her head into his, caressing. Only for a few seconds then moving away. "What are you doing in here?" Her voice being a whispering.

Her gaze then moves elswhere, looking towards the doorway, then back at him. Did anyone hear the noice from the libary? A shiver runs through her body, she were so sure they both would get in trouble for this. A libary was a place to be quiet in.

Vesanus kept his head low, until he heard his sister asking him what he was doing in the library. His large maw took the form of a wide smirk as he raised his head, looking directly at his sister almost speaking in a mocking tone. "Well, Lacrimosa, believe it or not I came here to read. This is a library after all is it not?".

Vesanus sneered as he raised his right claw and motioned to the room around him as he spoke. His face become somewhat more serious after a short while, as he took the opportunity to glance around once more at the books that decorated shelves.

"As for what specifically intrigues me at this late hour, that is of no concern of yours dear sister, thought I doubt I will find what I seek in this room sadly".

Vesanus raised a claw to his damaged horn and ran his talon along the cracks, a comfort he often found himself sub-consciously doing when deep in thought.

As her brother speaks, Lacrimosa leans her head a tad to the right, studying him, followed by a short nod. "I'll not ask more into it then" Her voice being a whispering, in case someone was in there with them. She'd slowly turn herself around to look towards the bookshelfs, her eyes wandering over the covers of the books, reading the titles before reaching her claws forward, in a carefull manner, pulling a book out from between some others.

She'd weight the book for a few minutes before turning her gaze back to her brother. "Did you see anyone on your way here?" She'd move herself in a sitting position, curling her tail to lay beside her. Her head lowered slightly as her eyes once more falls onto the book, studying the cover of it, and the title.

*This should be the book, looks very interesting.. feels right.. but to be sure..*

She'd look up once again, towards the books on the shelfs, reading the titles, even in this dark room, the titles seem to be more readable after a few minutes in the dark. The eyes would have adjusted themselves to the darkness around them. once more she'd move her claws forward, this time to run over the covers while studying them. Not to do any damage ofcourse.

Vesanus continued to run his claws along his horn as he watched his sister go back to her business, looking through the bookshelves and removing a certain book. Vesanus paused for a moment and lowered his claws back to the ground as he tried to notice the title of the book Lacrimosa has chosen. Did she have some purpose to seeking a specific book or was she merely browsing for leisure? Vesanus was about to move away, and continue the hunt for his own information when he heard his sister speak.

"Apart from the usual guards standing on duty and the odd patrol of the hallways I dont think there was anyone else to note. Why, were you expecting someone to join you?"

Vesanus tilted his large head, interested by what was most likely a simple question, though he often overthought the simplest of meanings, one of his downfalls.

"She could be conspiring against Tenebris ..."

Vesanus moved his scaled paw towards his head, and rested it upon his temple, as someone with a headache would do as he awaited the response from his sister.
