Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Tenebris Thu Jun 23, 2016 12:40 pm

With the hottest days of the year overcoming even the usually dark, foreboding unforgiving lands of the NightWings, celebrations had been in preparation from the late spring months within Shadow's Refuge. Enterprising with the on going war waging in the former EarthWing lands during its annexation by the NightWing Imperium, the call was issued for any Soldiers on summer leave and Civilians alike to heed the Festival and be welcome for the ostentatious occasion for all to embrace rest and recuperation. To maintain the spirits and morale of the Empire as a whole, capitalising on a feast and shows of merriment for last several days of festivities, including shows of both martial and mental prowess such as aerial displays and games of Witt. The individual robustness and pride of the Empire and its people would be shown through the festival as its major theme.

The Shadow's Refuge was refurbished and revitalised for a ceremonial occasion unlike any it had hosted before, the ramparts and battlements of the Citadel and its sister institutes such as the magisterium being decorated and cosmetically made appealing with a cohort of banners and sigils reflecting the dominion of the NightWings pursuits. The bright colours and hues of blue in the form of banners filled the rocky plateau and the most central and prominent position of the Citadel itself. Magistrates and other permanent residents of the Refuge flocked in the centre of the courtyard, welcoming guests passionately and leading them up the towering stairs to the grand hall where the large draconian influenced decorated doors remained open welcoming all those within.

The large atrium which was the Grand hall was filled with works of Majesty from marble sculptures depicting Dragon imagery to the columns which supported the vast roof which seemed to have etched workings of roses and their thorns spiralling upwards across the pillars to the ever looming ceiling above. An awe-inspiring table of the highest carpentry work was then positioned like a horse shoe around the entire hall, upon it marvels of exotic and culturally favourable foods from fresh kills were displayed for the feast come. With braziers lining the walls of the antechamber which was the Grand Hall a warming humming coo filled the air in the form of a tenor tune sung by several artists which stood below the far end stain glass window which depicted the heraldry of Shadow's Refuge, two Dragons rampart to one another while one holds a sword as a symbol of might and the other a sceptre as a icon of authority. Directly in front at the far end of the Horse shoe was the table reserved for Tenebris, his retinue and the Emperor himself along with places for his staff.

Tenebris himself already stood at the head of the table awaiting for others to arrive and make themselves comfortable, his imposing figure made ever more so by the adorned silver he wore across his horns and the single pauldron he had on his left shoulder with an aegis displaying the same heraldry of the stain glass window. From the far end of the hall his silhouette bore across the atrium as his eerie sapphire gaze remained dispassionate in their personal scrutiny to examine all what entered. His posture was filled with pride and regal grace as a warm smile spread across his otherwise austere features as he patiently awaited for the hall to be filled.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Atronax Thu Jun 23, 2016 1:11 pm

Atronax made a fashionably late appearance to the grand feasting hall; Albeit, very unintentional given his dislike for grandiose political events.. Or just polotics in general.

His time was far more suited to dominating the skies above and keeping a keen eye on the world below him. As if he were an omnipotent bird of prey, pure white gaze watching and waiting for the opportune time to strike. Alas, here he was.. Adorned in a simple yet presentable leather cuirass, fitting for his station as the Grand Viziers personal Tracker yet still comely enough to wear at such a formal occasion.

The young dragon quietly nudged his way through the bustling crowd of finely dressed and mingling Nightwings to take his position at the very end of Tenebris' seat of Staff. Personal Tracker he may be but a Dragon in Atronax's position does his best to be the least noticed at an official endeavour such as this. Inconspicuous and Unimportant is the visage most favoured by him and his kind.

Once comfortable seated, he turns his gaze towards the Grand Vizier himself, offering a covert yet humble incline of his head before letting his eyes scan across the increasing bustle in the Feasting Hall.

He watched the assorted dragons of noble birth with mild curiosity.. Or perhaps more mild amusement. All the silly, delicate traditions of the upper class always baffled the rugged and down to earth Atronax to no end. Yet it wasn't his place to question such intricacies. He was simply there for appearances sake.

A Grand Vizier without an entourage is a sad sight indeed at a feast such as this.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Nerokius Fri Jun 24, 2016 3:02 am

The great numbers were more than Nerokius had ever seen at the Refuge, but alas it had come and he had to adjust to this. However many there were, it wasen't near as many as on the battlefield, nor as intense as there.. But nontheless, it was alot of dragons from all over the Nightwing lands.. All gathered at one location, which in turn made his job alittle more important, rather than what he usually was in charge of guarding, but alas he would cope all the same..

As time had passed, Nerokius found his way through the upper empty halls where he positioned sentrys, just in case.
His gaze fell upon each of them as he passed them and they in turn, stood at attention before they resumed their relaxed positions once more as Nerokius went onwards.
He soon found his way down the circular stairway that led down to the lower halls, which was populated by guests, aswell as guards and the average staff in general.

Nerokius, in his domineering and massive size, pushed through the crowd of drakes and onwards towards his Lord and Savior, Tenebris, where his took up his position just behind him.. Acting as more of a personal guard, rather than the captain of the guard, but alas, both was his job and honour, and he performed both with a fierce loyalty and pride.

With a last adjustment of his seating position on his behind, he leaned forward and stretched his neck downwards in order to speak into Tenebris humble ear, opening his maw slightly to avoid any eavesdroppers.

"All guards are set on duty, they have been informed of how important tonight celebration is for the Empire, my Lord"

His words were calm and his tone were low, yet still as deep and rumbling as ever.
He pulled his head back once he was done speaking to resume his guarding position, head held high so he could see all the guests, wings positioned upwards in an intimidating manner, showing off his size to anyone who'd wish harm upon Tenebris.(See Signature Picture for refrence)

Guards were positioned by every door and on every hallway.. By each wall in the great banquet hall and by the very door of the castle itself.. In the air and on the top of the caste walls and by the small bridge leading into the courtyard.
All guards were on duty that night, due to how many important figures that were invited and present, but most importantly, the likelyhood of the Emperor showing up to this grand banquet.
It had to be protected enough.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Claudius Fri Jun 24, 2016 5:47 am

Claudius had been one of the first to arrive, but had chosen to find himself a spot to sit away from the centre of the room, preferring a more solitary spot. In one of the darker corners of the room he sat down, his massive weight and stature sending a shiver through the surroundings. He sat on his behind and curled his tail around as he held his head high, looking around the chambers with his ancient yet still piercing gaze. His eyes met those of the Grand-Vizier, and he nodded respectfully. Claudius may have been superior in both size and physical strength as well as age, but he respected the Vizier's cunning and wit. Not all battles are won with strength.

He also observed the arrival of the other guests - Including the Vizier's personal guard and tracker. He gave both a respectful salute from his corner - As a semi-retired guardian, the former was still his superior. Yet he was not on duty this day. He had other plans for the night. The feast sounded promising to his ears.

He had chosen not to don any special prestigious armour or jewellery, apart from an amulet around his scaled neck - An heirloom older than even himself. He hadn't come to impress. "Let's see what the night brings us..." he mused to himself, keeping a watchful eye from his solitary position.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Hyruu Sat Jun 25, 2016 9:44 am

Loque walked through the Shadow Refuge, his claws tinging on the stone ground under his paws. Today was the day. The Midsummer Festival was indeed an important event, and one of the occasions during which the Shadow Refuge was well decorated. The black dragon usually preferred solitude or the company of his mate than such events, but it was a too good occasion to let it pass by.

As soon as he stepped inside the main hall he was right in the heart of the event. Many dragons were talking and gesturing around, among them some of the Refuge' magistrates. Some of them greeted Loque, some didn't, but the young Magistrate wasn't really bothered by it. After all a lot of the other High Magistrates were snobing him for his rather unusual behavior for a dragon with this post. After all, he was the only one not to act like he was all superior to the others... There was a reason most of the Shadow Refuge's staff liked him after all. Even when some of the other Magistrates were wearing some ostentatious trinkets or clothing, all what Loque had was a pendant - a fine one, for sure, but that showed marks of use.
A quick glance at the tables and he already spotted Tenebris. Like usual, he was hard to miss with his impressive posture. Loque headed toward his table, greeting the Grand Vizir with a bow of his head.
"Good afternoon, Tenebris. I hope you enjoy the festival so far ?" he asked him, sitting in one of the available seats.
Loque had a very small snicker as he almost could hear some of the other Magistrates growling of jealousy. Only the young High Magistrate could sit next to Tenebris like that, and most of them would have wanted that honor for themselves.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Virsha Sat Jun 25, 2016 2:00 pm

(For the purpose of story, I'm going to say this takes place after Virsha becomes Tene's apprentice Razz)

Today was going to be so exciting, thought Virsha, her eyes glowing as she thought about the festivities that lay ahead of her. This would be the first time she had ever attended one of these fancy parties. In fact, she had never really been anywhere with this many popular, or well known, people before in her life! It made her very happy and enthusiastic, but at the same time, she was also very nervous. After all, these people were very important. What if she didn't make a very good impression on them? Would that damage her reputation? She didn't know how all the fancy people there would react to her presence. However, she hoped that she was overreacting, and that everything would go perfect. And she was definitely optimistic with all her hopes about said party.

Having been staying in the Shadow's Refuge, rather than going back to the mainland with that previous tutor of hers, Virsha was quite close to where the party was being held. It was only about ten minutes or so away from her location. However.... Virsha had been faced with another problem. She had no idea what she would wear! Normally, she didn't care, but Tenebris had told her this was going to be a big party, with lots of guests, so she was a little pressured to look better than usual. To bad there wasn't any magic for that, she had though with a chuckle. Eventually, Virsha had decided to not come wearing anything too special, adorning a shimmering silver bracelet she had gotten from Tenebris, along with a pearl necklace, that glowed magnificently.

Once she was ready, she had run downstairs to greet her tutor, and had flown with him to the party. It really was pretty, once everything had been set up. Being herself, Virsha decided she wanted to greet the guests. Not for really any benefit on her part, but rather just to be kind. This, however, she was reluctant to do, once she saw the huge flood of people. Instead, she rejected that previous idea, and decided to stick to the shadows. Sure, she could be polite, she just wasn't intending on getting anywhere close to that.... crowd.

She eventually found a place to relax for a bit, while she waited for the large crowds to simmer down. It was near a table where Tenebris was, but partially obscured by a large pillar. She would watch Tenebris for a moment, before, admittedly, becoming bored. Having brought along a sketchbook, just in case, she would pull out a supply of pencils, each a different hardness. She'd pull out the lighter colored one and began to sketch.

While she sketched, she would keep a watchful eye on the guests. So far, only about ten dragons had arrived, none that she recognized. Tenebris hadn't really been given the chance to introduce her to any of the other magistrates. A couple dragons approached Tenebris, and began talking. Some formally, some slightly less informal. It was difficult to find a dragon who was informal around someone like Tenebris. Or really, around anyone in the NightWing kingdom. Everything had such a strict leash around it.

This made Virsha curious. She really wished to speak to these other dragons. But at the same time, didn't really want to get involved. She supposed, though, that maybe it would be best if she were to get to know dragons before a large group of them showed up, so that she'd be more comfortable. Because, chances were, she would be even more nervous, and would probably recede into the darker corners of the grand ball room... or whatever this was.

On the bright side, these dragons seemed familiar with Tenebris, so maybe he could introduce her. Swallowing hard, she decided to approach her mentor, and the dragon who most recently had approached him. This dragon was dark, and quite small, even smaller than she was. He was very slick, and just from looking at him, Virsha could tell he had the build of some one who was built for stealth. A spy, perhaps? Who knows. Maybe his occupation would surprise her.

As she approached the two, she would try to smile, but she was super nervous, so she had butterflies in her stomach. Swallowing hard, she would try to attempt a conversation. "Uh, hello, sir. My name is Virsha, nice to meet you!" Ugh, that sounded stupid.... she thought to herself immediately after saying that, causing her to cringe at herself. If only there was a way to make conversation less awkward....

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Vesanus Sat Jun 25, 2016 3:33 pm

Vesanus heard the faint voices of guests that had already arrived, the volume increasing with each step closer to the hall entrance. He hadn't chosen to wear any formal garb; nothing would distract curious eyes from the hideous sight of the crazed nightwing in any case, and as such Vesanus had deemed the effort of dressing up for the occasion merely a waste of his time.

Entering the hall, the first thing that Vesanus noted was the security that had been set in place by Nerokius. Despite his personal distaste in the Captain, Vesanus had to admit that the number of guards posted within the hall was indeed intimidating. His eye scanned the rest of the room, the majority of the content providing no interest as Vesanus strode further into the room.

The further Vesanus strode the more uncomfortable he felt. It may have been his paranoia but he was sure that a fair number of guests looked in his direction before speaking low to one another, or moving from his path altogether in one instance.

They do not matter, you shouldn't care about their simple mindedness. You could slaughter them all …

Vesanus came to a standstill shortly before the table at which he spotted his father already in discussion. Nerokius sat close by Tenebris, Vesanus noticed. The others at the table seemed to be far more appealingly dressed in comparison to Vesanus, who for a brief second looked down at his own form, almost forgetting the state of his underbelly, before letting out a low sigh and moving towards a more isolated area of the hall. He would keep Tenebris and Nerokius in his line of sight however as he lowered himself into a sitting position.

It's better to be seated over here anyway, can see the room better. Gives a wider scope on who could cause trouble. Nobody would be foolish enough to attack father while i'm present …

Vesanus simply sighed to himself once more, allowing the voice in his mind to continue, though he paid little attention. He sat as formally as possible, as presentable as he could be given his appearance.

He still felt the gaze of the other guests watching him in silent judgment.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Lacrimosa Sun Jun 26, 2016 4:19 am

As the great-hall downstairs would get filled with guests, Lacrimosa were still in her room, studying one of her crystal stones. Seeming to have forgotten everything about the celebration thats being held downstairs. She'd move her tail around on the floor as being layd down onto it. her right paw would hold one of the stones up infront of her, studying it for a few seconds before placing it down, taking another one.
One of the guards pokes his head into her room, she'd drop the crystal onto the ground, quickly moving up sitting with her back against her treasure, protecting it from the guard that invaded her room. "What is it?" she'd ask, almost hostile.

"I just heard something-.. why are you not at the celebration?" The guards voice reached her, but it took a few seconds for her to understand what was said, her eyes widens as moving up standing, moving to push him out of her room. Then she'd turn her gaze to the treasure, quickly hidding it away. As thats been done she moves her gaze to the nearby mirror, already moving her paws up to her face, trying to clean it for dust. After a few minutes she'd move to her jewelery looking over them, then shaking her head, no time.. she's late.
Quickly moving outside the room to walk to the lower floor where the celebration is being held. Slowering her speed as she reaches the great-hall. She'd lower her head slightly as walking inside, trying to advoid the others gaze, they looked at her, cause of her yellow colour, almost glowing. She stopped on the middle of the floor peering around untill she gets her eyes on Vesanus, moving herself in his direction to let herself sit beside him.

"Am I late?" she'd whisper only for him. Peering at him before looking out towards the guests, her gaze studying every one of them, before her gaze turns towards the table, looking at her 'father' giving him a short nod as a greeting and being respectful towards him. Then lowering her gaze again, not really comfortable with the many guests.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Vesanus Sun Jun 26, 2016 5:22 am

Vesanus craned his neck in the direction of Lacrimosa as she approached, and took a seat beside him. He had to turn his head to a fair angle as he nodded politely, mainly due to the fact that he couldn't see her properly thanks to his blinded eye.

She did that on purpose …

For the briefest of moments he wondered why of all the places in the hall she had chosen to sit by his side. His adoptive sister was almost like him however, preferring the quieter corners of the hall rather than being pressured into dismal conversation. After bowing his head politely, Lacrimosa's words reached him. Upon hearing what his sister spoke, Vesanus allowed himself to scan the room again, noticing the majority of the guests still going about their normal business, the guard at their post and the table at which the most important Nightwings sat, conversation was still in flow.

Vesanus shrugged as he moved to look towards Lacrimosa once more; “If you are late, nobody seems to have noticed. There is no reason to worry”. Vesanus offered a grin, almost in joking mockery as he moved his left claw towards his permanently broken horn and maneuvered his talons along the cracked areas.

After a short while, seemingly in thought, Vesanus moved back into the position in which he sat before Lacrimosa had made her appearance.

This one is … different …

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Hyruu Tue Jun 28, 2016 10:32 am

Loque turned his head as someone approached from Tenebris and him, and attempted to start a conversation. The black dragon quickly studied the newcomer, a curious glint in his eyes. The dragonness that had approached him was a bit taller than himself, and was wearing a delicate bracelet and a pearl necklace. But what amused and intrigued Loque at most was how hesitant that dragoness was. Most of the dragons currently gathered in the hall were Magistrates that were all full of themselves. But that dragoness, on the other hand, only wore modest jewelry and seemed rather shy. This dragoness would maybe end up interesting.
"Greetings, Virsha. My name is Loque. I don't believe I ever had the pleasure to meet you before. Is this your first trip to the Refuge?" he gently asked her.
While asking this, Loque had a warm and sincere smile. He wasn't the kind to snob anyone - and for that matter hadn't stated his occupation yet, as he figured she would tense up if she learned he was actually rather high ranked.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Nerokius Thu Jun 30, 2016 6:52 pm

Nerokius gaze fell upon the new arrivals that presented themselves before Tenebris, one even positioned himself close by him which took Nerok's attention rather quickly and thus had him get up on all fours again, only to appear even more intimidating as he bared his teeth slightly, letting out a low growl towards the Magistrate and the young student..

His posture were intimidating, yet graceful as he craned his neck high and tilted his head downwards in a superior manner. This however was not to make himself the superior in the room, rather have everyone keep their distance from Tenebris as Nerok did not own a sight like the rest and could see facial expressions, yet he saw their thermal body and felt every vibration they made as they moved about, giving him a clear image of where everyone was and how big they were, aswell as mood, seeing as the temperature would change by the chest area aswell as the head, however he remained at his position given that no one had actually shown signs of aggresion.

Guards by the pillar only cast a single glance to Nerok, studying his body language before they returned their gazes towards the guests, ever on alert.

*They seems to fancy the Lord's pressence, yet lack the respect of a formal and deep bow to him.. Arrogant youth.. Ignorance at it's best..*

He thought to himself as his gaze glanced from the young magistrate and onto the student and back, yet his head did not move an inch, compared to his yellow eyes that darted back and forth and soon found their way to a certain dragon whos mind was lost to illusions and voices.. But it was only shortly before his gaze returned to the pair of young drakes that had positioned themselves near Tenebris..

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Virsha Sun Jul 03, 2016 5:48 am

As more and more dragons would come in, all important magistrates and what not, Virsha would begin to feel very small, especially around all these people. As someone who had been born on the mainland, and become part of the Shadow's Refuge due to her training, she was still not used to all the strange, outlandish customs used by the Ebonwings. They were so similar to the NightWings, but yet also so very different. She couldn't quite describe why. It just seemed like a rather peculiar thing that she could not describe.

She did enjoy the philosophical life style, though. She couldn't quite understand why, but she felt happier here than she had back on the NightWing homeland. She just felt.... freer. Maybe because there wasn't such strict laws bearing down on her, threatening to break her if she just stepped one foot out of line. Especially with her previous tutor, who had been quite vicious towards her. True, Virsha didn't understand things sometimes, but she knew an unhealthy environment when she saw one. Or at least, this was what she grasped.

Sure, she missed her mom, but what could you do? After all, due to Nightflare's vicious reign as the half queen, Oculus had more or less banned most magic, in fear that someone of Nightflare's power would rise up again. While it wasn't technically banned, it was highly discouraged in the educational system, which was why there was very few to no NightWing mages.

Virsha could barely look up at the powerful magistrates. Her head was cocked down, and she was in a very submissive posture. Only out of courtesy would she look up at Loque while he talked to her, though her fear of these large crowds, and bigger dragons, would make it very difficult for her to make eye contact with him, even though she knew that was the polite thing to do at these kinds of outings. Even if she was only slightly larger than him.

Trying to speak in a more confident manner, but not sound like she was trying to hard, she would talk to Loque, lifting her head a bit, doing a little bow towards him. "It's nice to meet your acquaintance, Mr. Loque. And yes, this is my first time. I've actually started training here in magic, under Lord Tenebris." she would say, her voice becoming a bit shy when she would mention magic. After all, most dragons on the NightWing mainland usually got a negative impression of her when she mentioned her magic, and it usually would just slip out.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Hyruu Mon Jul 04, 2016 12:38 am

Loque looked at Virsha, mentally chuckling at how unsure of herself she seemed to be. It was clear she wasn't lying, it definitely was her first visit here. The black dragon kept a warm smile and an almost neglected stance, trying to get the dragoness more at ease.
When Virsha mentioned being training magic under Tenebris's mentorship, Loque suddenly seemed highly interested. A curious glint appeared in his look as a wide grin appeared on his face. A grin that wasn't without reminding the wolfish grin Tenebris sometimes had. It was one of the few things he unknowingly took for the Archon.
"Oh, so you are the new trainee Tenebris was talking about! It is an even greater pleasure to meet you then. You may have already heard my name from your mentor, Tenebris and I are rather close from each other." he warmly exclaimed.
It seemed like he and that dragoness already had something in common. That ought to reduce her uneasiness... But he couldn't help but notice almost a shame at the mention of magic. He could perfectly guess why - Virsha wasn't the first one to leave the Nightwings in search for a better place to study.
"Do not be ashamed of what you are pursuing. Be proud of yourself and of your choices. We value freedom and knowledge above all else, and it is proudly that you should announce the noble arts you are investing yourself into." Loque added.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Claudius Mon Jul 04, 2016 3:12 pm

Claudius stretched his old, sinewy muscles in the corner. He looked over the banquet and the guests once more, seeing more and more flood the hall. He let forth a silent grunt - He usually didn't attend this type of meetings. A dragon of his age felt more at home in the wilds - Like the ancestors, before the dragons took to building. A cavern built in the mountainside is all he required.

Despite this, he was fiercely loyal to the Archon and his upper echelon. They could build as many palaces as they liked, and even if it wasn't his fancy, he'd still devote his everything to their wishes. Perhaps it was his drive to feel useful at his old age. Perhaps it was his pride. Perhaps it was merely pure loyalty to his tribe. He would not bend.

He observed the others gathering at the main table. The Archon and his personal guard, obviously... Then a few males Claudius recognised, but not by name, as well as two smaller females. Seems the Archon had gained quite the following. He beckoned a servant over to deliver him a drink - Mead fit for a dragon, served in a horn the size of his head. That would do. He promised himself he'd stick to one drink in order to remain dignified - But nobody said anything about the drink's size.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Virsha Thu Jul 07, 2016 5:13 pm

At first, Virsha was quite nervous of how this new, rather interesting dragon would react to her, fumbling quietly with her claws as she stared patiently into his eyes. And she was quite pleasantly surprised when the dragon told her that he actually was quite happy to meet her, seeing as she was an apprentice of Tenebris. He seemed quite enthusiastic when she mentioned she practiced magic. This made her smile. It as a small smile, but it made her truthfully smile for once.

Her tail flicking, though not so much from nerves, and more from excitement, she would listen to him as he tried to reassure her. This was quite unusual. Back at the NightWing homeland, she had received nothing but judgement and aggressiveness from anyone who she told she was studying magic. She had even had her spirits broken once or twice, by people who said she would be better off a guardian, or a tracker. But this was new, and thus, being taken aback, her guise of shyness was instantly shattered, as a look of surprise overtook her.

"Really?" she asked, blinking, "Wow. That's nice. Erm..." Virsha soon realized she had probably acted quite immature there for a second. But the thought of a friend was quite interesting, even if the friend was much older than she was. Kindly grinning, her curiosity would suddenly reach a peak. "Hey, I was wondering.... If you're a student of Tenebris, do you study magic, as well?" she asked, hopeful.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Loque couldn't help but slightly chuckle at the dragoness's sudden surprise and eagerness to talk. Gone was that shyness that prevented her from feeling at ease, now she was talking naturally and without any hindrance. That was already way better. Sometimes, all what dragons needed was a bit of confidence, and being reassured on the path they chose.
"This is the main reason we created the Ebonwings years ago, Virsha. Dragons shouldn't be bound by the pressure of their peer for the path they chose, as long as this path is a rightful one. It is in this philosophy that we aim to promote every activity and every talent a dragon has. And this is why we are known for our crafts, our arts, our fighting styles or our magic. Here, you are free to chose the path you want to walk on. It is only up to you to walk down that path with pride and responsibility." the black dragon declared.
A passion could be heard in his voice as he made his statement about freedom of choice. It was obvious that Loque was admiring this ideal, and was pursuing it.
Loque then looked at Virsha as she asked him if he was studying magic too. The Duke let out a small chuckle, shaking his head.
"I am not exactly one of Tenebris's students. I am more like a close friend of his. We both share a common ideal, the ideal that made this community a reality. I am afraid I am lacking in terms of magic, I do not possess the talent to cast spells. And even if I could, my duties as Duke take most of my time. I want to dedicate my remaining free time to my mate." he replied to her.
Loque had replied as casually as ever, despite having just revealed he was one of the most influential figures of the Ebonwing Potentate. After all, there were only three Dukes, and the Archon was technically one of them.

Midsummer Festival [EbonWings] Empty Re: Midsummer Festival [EbonWings]

Post by Virsha Thu Jul 14, 2016 1:53 pm

This dragon had managed to successfully peak Virsha's interest. As now, she hung over everyone word he said, listening intently, her eyes wide as his voice slid across his tongue. She tried her best not to be rude, though. She would sit patiently, her tail flicking ever so slightly, blinking a few times up in his direction, nodding quietly as he spoke, not daring to interrupt him, like most young, immature trainees might do so. She scooted a tad bit closer, becoming slightly more comfortable, being around this stranger. In was an odd feeling, this connection, but yet it was one that she cherished. It wasn't often she made friends.

It also wasn't very often that people wanted to hear this kind of stuff. Even while she sat quietly, her mouth had turned into a wide smile, though she didn't want to wear a grin just yet. Her humble jewelry would shift somewhat around her neck, as she repositioned herself, barely able to contain her happiness. However, she would make sure to dim down before she spoke. Though, she spoke quite eagerly when Loque finished speaking, carefully observant of her words, but nonetheless eager.

"Would you like me to show you my magic? I've been told by Tenebris that I am surprisingly good at it for my age!" Virsha said, hoping she didn't sound too enthusiastic.

((Well was waiting for Tene to make the introductions, but since he's not there yet...))

Loque couldn't help but let an honest chuckle as Virsha suddenly gained a lot of confidence, wearing quite a smile while she asked if he wanted to see her magic. Some dragons only needed a nudge to help them be proud of what they were doing, but it seemed like Loque might have done more than a little push on that one.
"Now that's a better tone. I sure would love to, but do remember we are in the middle of a festival right now. Just don't do anything too spectacular that might disrupt the meal we are about to get..." he told her with a smile.
