A Prophet's Tale (Open/Followers of Astral) Empty A Prophet's Tale (Open/Followers of Astral)

Post by Baldirak Sapiens Draco Tue Apr 26, 2016 7:27 pm

It had been (let's say a year)  a long time since the Goddess Astral left the world of mortals and gods alike. Baldirak Sapiens Draco had spent that time--his free time, anyway--trying to comprehend it. Whenever his right foreleg was too painful for him to sleep, he spent the night reading his Astralogy scrolls. He also looked at maps of Pyrria, hoping to find an area that might yield a Moonstone. As the first year anniversary of Astral's death neared, the EarthWing decided to make a pilgrimage to the desert the Goddess was discovered in. But instead of going the day of, Baldirak would set out the evening before; he took his Astrology scrolls with him.

He told no one except two of his Royal Guards, Hapax and Hamnet. They would simply stand outside his den, as they always did at night, and tell anyone who sought an audience with Baldirak in the morning that he'd wished not to be disturbed. And since Baldirak rarely made this demand--and everyone knew his reason for it whenever he did--no one would pry. So when the time came,  the Earth King slipped out of his den and made his way to the surface. He did pass the night Scouts along the way; they assumed he was just going to begin his evening prayers under the Moon. And Baldirak did indeed do this, only for a much shorter amount of time. Upon finishing, he took to the air and flew off into the night. The air was crisp, only the stars covered the sky, and all was quiet.

As he went on, Baldirak's mind wandered to the day. He could only recall one other day he had felt as sad. He wondered what had become of the Hatchlings the Goddess had left behind. Of course he could have found out, but seeing the life of a divine was not something Baldirak could do. At least, he didn't think it was. Anyway, he was sure the NightWings had taken good care of them. For most of the night, Baldirak stayed in the air, landing only for a drink. By the time he reached the desert, there was still several hours to go before dawn. Somehow, he knew exactly where Astral's body had lain exactly, despite the lack of any landmarks. But he wanted to walk there, not fly, so he landed at the very edge of the desert.

The Earth shook a little, the rumbling quiet, like distant thunder. Baldirak glanced up at the starry sky, then down at the talismans hanging round his neck. With a sigh, he started the slow process of walking through the desert to his destination... slow, because he limped. Well, being cloaked by the darkness--and being the only living soul around--meant he didn't have to hide his impairment. During his walk, Baldirak hummed. Why? Because there was not much else to do and it passed the time. Eventually, the EarthWing reached his destination. He sat down, picked up a rock, and began carving a statuette. He was glad the moon was out, else this would have been a difficult task.

Singing the whole time, he finished an hour later. The statuette was of the Goddess... Maybe not the best likeness, but hopefully it would look better in daylight. Either way, it would suffice. Baldirak set it on the ground and beside it, his scrolls. There was a few hours left til dawn, so he decided to sleep. He hoped there were others who still followed the teachings of Astral, despite her death, and would make this pilgrimage as well.

A Prophet's Tale (Open/Followers of Astral) Empty Re: A Prophet's Tale (Open/Followers of Astral)

Post by Ragnarock Wed May 04, 2016 12:08 pm

Under the depths temple of the Holy Order lies a great chamber, broken and opened, the area around it were decorated to be more natural, plants, vines, and even trees growing in the great room below. Most dragons are asleep by this time, Ragnarock thought, looking up to look through the cracks as the moonlight kept into the great chambers. Many years ago, he was a great threat against the world of Dragons, the World Devourer, as they called him was the darkness that filled the void, taking countless lives as a god-like figure, killing and slaughtering the countless millions under his claws. He was a monster until the Holy Order finally defeated the beast, trapping him in the prison within the chambers, crushing him in the supported gates and walls. And now, he is but a peaceful yet old dragon.

A year, he recounted, a year when the Goddess known as "Astral" had left this world to somewhere else. He studied quite a while on many myths, readings, and legends and tales and histories upon these newer and old deities, Arkhor, Nimbus, Ark, Astral, and so on. He was fascinated with the rich histories and stories of these beings who reached godly-hood and passed all tests pinned against them.

However, tonight was a special night, for Ragnarock that was. He was but an old Royal Guard, he thought... was he a Royal Guard? Ragnarock's mind has grown old yet his body remained strong, granted bones and muscles and nerves began to hurt as of recent, it couldn't be helped though. Tonight is the night Astral left, and as if a human finding a new religion, he will take off to the location said where Astral was last seen, where she had left he supposed. Ragnarock pulled out a talisman of the goddess, looking it over and inspecting it. He cleaned it off of any dirt or dust, then having a necklace made of large and many chains he would hook it unto the chains and would crawl up to the large crevice in the earth.

As the large dragon made his way out he took the first few steps outside and began to run, turning into a sprint as he spread his wings, and in few great flaps he lifted himself off the ground and into the air, gliding and flapping until he was high enough. Ragnarock was more the land dragon, speed in air was not his thing. As he flew for a considerable amount of time he noticed something in the distance flying in the sky and into the area of a desert. He was near it, finally. Ragnarock was somewhat joyous of this, however he was now curious of the figure that landed now. He would remain up in the air, keeping a good distance before landing roughly. He would begin to walk to a now singing figure, cocking his head slightly as his red eyes glowed in the darkness, the moonlight shining off of his armored-like scales and head.

((Sorry for the crappy post, this is what I could come up with so far -_-))

A Prophet's Tale (Open/Followers of Astral) Empty Re: A Prophet's Tale (Open/Followers of Astral)

Post by Baldirak Sapiens Draco Sat May 07, 2016 9:25 am

Before Baldirak had the chance to lay down and sleep, or even finish his statuette, another Dragon arrived. Turning, he looked at the large Dragon, and sniffed the air; it was a familiar scent. "My Royal Guard... Ragnarock. I haven't seen you in a very long time, where have you been hiding? You realize, you are to be near me at all times? Well, it's no matter now, you are here... We're you nearby to hear my singing, or are you a follower of Astral as well?"

While awaiting an answer, the Earth King turned back to his statuette, to finish it. There wasn't much left to do, so he finished quickly, and after he laid down, facing his guard again.

A Prophet's Tale (Open/Followers of Astral) Empty Re: A Prophet's Tale (Open/Followers of Astral)

Post by Raak-tolIs Wed Jun 15, 2016 1:57 pm

Raak-tolIs had a statuette of his own with him, it too in honor of Astral. He carried it on his back as he made his way to the place where the Goddess Astral supposedly died. But unlike the EarthWing's, Raak's stautette was made of ice. Ice was the only thing The LightWing Citizen could sculpt perfectly with; nothing else quite turned out right for him. While the Citizen did not follow any of the religions with quite as much devoution as others, he respected the immortals. He didn't know if the Goddess was truly dead, but if her followers were making this pilgrimage, then surely it must be.  Along the way, Raak stopped to make sure his sculpture wasn't melting; if it was, he repaired it. He also ran into a few other Dragons, some Rouges and some from other Tribes who were making the same journey. They talked mostly on the subject of the Gods and Goddesses, whether they might meet one one day. Those from tribes asked about their friends or family and if anyone knew of any upcoming gatherings. The Rogues mostly chatted amongst themselves and a few curious ones conversed with the tribals. In no time at all, the small group reached their destination. To their surprise, they spotted two giant Dragons... EarthWIngs maye? It wasn't too great a surprise to Raak. He had heard rumors since the day the tribe of giants disappeared that one or two may have survived. The LightWing landed nearby and set down his stautette, immediately going to work on looking for melted spots. When he finished, he turned to the smaler of the giant Dragons. "An EarthWing? Could it be? Tell me, are you survivors of that terrible day, or are you Rogues?"
