A test of Strength (Private with Alyas)

Tempest heaved the final puppet like thing into place, refusing to allow her guards to help her. Instead, they were there to escort her guest to her when they arrived at this meeting point. Tempest had a few things which she wanted to see before she granted them a higher ranking position, as these are her most vital roles which they had inquired about and she could not take them lightly. In war times, she knew that she needed to be able to trust this dragon completely and she would be placing the lives of many dragons in their paws. She needed to know that they could protect them.

For now, Tempest continued to set up the dummies, their weight and bulk hard for even her to push to their feet. In a final heave, she managed to get it in an upright position. She then wandered over to a cooler section of the cave, sitting there with her tail wrapped around her as she patiently waited. It even took her a long time to get to this training tunnel because of how it was located, it could be a little tricky for them to find. But that was her first test. It was a long way up from the base of flare mountain, and was almost at the very top. In there, a small tunnel had been dug by their ancestors, then this place carved out for training or testing grounds. For now, Tempest simply started counting.

The fireling flickered, trying to hiss at him as the dust and pebbles had no effect on them. It danced away, before coming back, claws aimed at Alyas' throat.

The fireling chasing the melee dragon ignited, causing an explosion around them. It shook the ground, dirt falling from the ceiling as Tempest snarled, taking a step forward towards Alyas. Inwardly, she was surprised that he hadn't even tried to hold her back, because it was really him who she was trying to protect. Although it was difficult to keep so many dragons away from him, and accidentally mistook him for one of the dragons attacking him.

Alyas narrowed his eyes in displeasure as the fireling leaped at him, about to attack with its claws. He swiftly turned around and opened his mouth wide, as the Fireling was about to land. It was out of sheer amusement...probably...or maybe it was curiosity. Something about these Firelings made Alyas feel quite intrigued. They were...tiny little flame dragons that moved at will. It was...cute? Or maybe it was because they can't be exactly killed and that was what amused him most.

He doesn't understand... make it clear Tempest..

A voice rang in her enraged mind, and she snarls. It was true, they didn't seem to be making any efforts to try and calm her, nor did they command the scattered and worried troops around them.

Time to end this.

A quick growl escaped from her, the Firelings dying and igniting around who they were with. Another two were summoned, her vision focusing not only on Alyas, but of the other dragons as well. He needed to command them, so, with all of her willpower that she had left, Tempest made an attack with her Firelings that seemed like it was going to kill the melee dragon, as he had no clue what to do nor what was going on.

Alyas blinked when the Fireling exploded just as he was about to try to eat it...somehow. He then turned his attention to Tempest, the main cause for all this panic going around and he let his instincts consume him for this moment.

The world seemed to go silent for a brief moment before he adjusted. Tempest had acted, the Firelings about to attack a melee dragon and he craned his neck and studied it closely. The dragon guards seemed to be incapable of acting on their own, didn't they have their own rights to move? He narrowed his eyes, and he slowed his breathing and cracked his neck bones, stiff from the tension.

He dragged a claw back and looked at the melee dragon and with a condescending tone of voice, he mocked the dragon, "Really now, aren't you going to try to do anything? You're gonna die if you sit there like a rock," Alyas said with a mocking grin.

The guard glanced over at Alyas for a few seconds, before he realised the danger which he was in. Quickly, the dragon dove out of the road of the fireling, before Tempest growls at them both. Nervously, he looks up to Alyas, broken from his more than obvious and powerful grip of fear. "What do you suppose we do-we've honestly never seen her like this!" He asked, slightly distressed at the furious Queen before them.

WAIT! No ending.. Look-he's doing it...

Tempest almost has an approving look in her eyes, before she ignited the air around them both with her Firelings, before she stepped forward, going for an attack on the ranged dragon who didn't know what to do.

Alyas watched Tempest's movements slowly and turned to the ranged dragon. "Clearly it appears she could kill us in no time, and since I'm sure you don't your precious queen utterly destroyed. I say we bring her down together. You, ranged dragon, should first dodge and stay calm!" he said, in a rather ordering manner.

He then turned back to look at Tempest, her movements and reflexes were quite fast, and she also seemed to constantly use her Firelings, which should cause a lot of mental concentration. He looked around at the dragons, there were about three-no- all the guards were still alive, startled yes, but alive. If he could use their numbers to an advantage...

He grinned and let out a thunderous roar to get all the guards' attentions.

Tempest, a laugh breaking in her mind, allowed herself to be stunned by the startlingly loud roar of command. She stopped her attacks, breaking the concentration with her firelings. In response to being cut away from the source of life, they imploded, vanishing in a puff of smoke.

The three guards flinched at the roar, before glancing across to him, giving him a slight amount of attention as they still cowered before the enraged queen.

Alyas nodded approvingly at the attention he managed to grasp. Also, it seemed to temporarily stun Tempest, the Firelings disappearing immediately once she stopped. He walked over to the three cowering guards and he groaned. With a swift turn and a flick, he tail-slapped the three guards, one at a time, to get them to snap out of the fear they were in.

"Use our numbers to our advantage. The ranger dragon can be covered by the three of us, and since you're all fairly capable, I say we surround the queen. Of course the damage we'll be dealing will be minimal, but as long as we aim for the general weak spots, eyes, nose, neck, whatever, we can bring her down," he said, explaining his strategy.

Understanding sparked in their eyes, and while Tempest was still stunned, they moved into position. The dragon best at ranged darted to the back-barely out of Tempests view. Their feet kicked powerfully from the ground as two melee dragons advanced. One on her right flank the other on her left.

Tempest growled, shaking her head as if to clear it. She felt a bit dizzy from the roar, something she never really had felt before, and her strength was failing her. My time's almost up... She thought to herself, before snarling a challenge at the three dragons before her-only to almost be hit by an arrow made or pure flames from the ranged dragon.

She recoiled from it, breaking her vision of the three melee dragons close to her. However, her tail lashed out to the right angrily, but her eyes were shut and the movement was wide...

Alyas knew he couldn't make it in time to dodge the wide-ranged tail lash and he rushed forward to grab the tail with his mouth. He had a feeling this would at least cause some form damage and hopefully distract Tempest even more until they figure how to calm her down. Of course, he didn't know that Tempest was testing him, only seeing this as a random, unforeseen incident that happened as a result of her guards' carelessness.

The three guards knew what they needed to do, having a grasp on the current situation. In a few moments, they followed what Alyas instructed them to do. The ranged one kept Tempests' attacks at bay, while the melee ones went in close to try and force her down.

Meanwhile, Tempest roared, trying to throw Alyas from her tail as she snarls, the dragon holding on tightly. A rather loud roar came from her as she felt the other two dragons impact against her side, much to her annoyance. They hit her over and over, sensitive places which drew her beyond angry, but she wou-couldn't kill or hurt her FireWings.

Tempest tried to throw Alyas from her tail, lashing it violently to get him off as her wings and paws tried to deal with the other two dragons scrambling on her.

Alyas dug his claws into the ground to give him more balance. He was quite surprised, he didn't expect the queen to have so much strength in her tail lashes. For now he couldn't do anything but hold on and make sure the dragons fulfill their purpose, to tire the FireWing queen. His grip on Tempest's tail was unfortunately weakening though, he had bit into her tail, but only a little, as he wasn't looking forward to biting a dragon's tail off. He had to come up with a counter-attack once his grip on her tail is completely loosened.
