The Secrets of DAelorios Island (Open to all)

DAelorios Island -- Located in the Valoras Sea at a distance from the mainland that the former EarthWing territory is from the NightWing territory. It has been forgotten by the tribes, only a myth now. It is said to have been the place where Dragons first appeared after the world's creation. Known as the ElderWings, these Dragons resembled in appearance all of the Dragons seen today. When overcrowding threatened them, they migrated to the mainland which was much larger. Overtime they would evolve into the seven species seen today and eventually form tribes. The ElderWings left the island deserted, nothing but simple prey animals remaining... Or so it was thought.

Or maybe you saw Baldirak heading out across the ocean and decided to follow him. Whatever your reason to going to the island, once there, you'll eventually encounter an NPC ElderWing--played by yours truly. And then you'll be led to the ElderWing's city. Baldirak had ventured to the northernmost edge of the old EarthWing territory. When this place still belonged to his tribe, he would come here to gaze at the ocean. He sat now doing that very thing, inhaling the wonderfully salty air as waves rolled and crashed against the coast. In his youth, Baldirak had traveled across Pyrria, seeing as much as he could. He'd visited most of the small islands in the Crystal Sea and seen some islands elsewhere that he hadn't visited. One such island was just in front of him, though a good distance away. At the moment, Baldirak had absolutely nothing to do; his fellow EarthWings didn't require his services. So why couldn't visit that island for a little while? The more he sat there thinking about it, the more tempting it seemed. Opening his wings as he stood, Baldirak stepped off the cliff into a short dive before ascending to the sky. He smiled lightly as the cool ocean breeze hit him and the sun warmed his back. It was such a pleasant day. For about ten minutes, there was nothing to gaze upon but the ocean and the sky, neither of which had anything interesting in them. There were a few clouds dotting the robin egg blue sky. Some were thin wispy things that might fade to non-existence if the winds suddenly decided to change direction. Others were thick fluffy mounds of rabbit fur that cast shadows on the ground and covered the sun. But soon the EarthWing was able to see the coast of the island on the horizon. The coast was composed of rocks rather than sand, yet was still nice to look at. From his place in the sky, Baldirak could see that the island was covered in trees, the only noticeable clearing being a large lake at the center. But rather than going there, Baldirak landed on the rocky shore. He would work his way to the center of the island.

Guryon shook his head and looked around. He began to walk directly to the middle of the island. He wanted to meet their leader. "Come on, we're going to meet your current leader"

((Yeah, sorry about that but i really had absolutely no idea how it was supposed to work))

Now thats something I can work with! How much heat do they produce? Do they need direct moonlight hitting them to do it? No,of course they dont, then they would not work during cloudy nights... So what if we put a lot of them in a big pool of water? The water can absorb and store the heat and then emit it over time

Cinulith scampered after the SeaWing. "Wait, uhh, shouldn't we be leading the way?" The ElderWing caught up and got in front of Guryon, lifting his head proudly--in a comical sort of way. Nearby on either side of the trio--Vona too caught up--groups of ElderWings unaware of the imminent danger to their island, focused of hunting down groups of deer.

Bain placed the last stone in its place. Since Torghaith answered his own question, the Gazer addressed the inquiry of water. "Some could be constructed specially for heating pools. And perhaps others for heating larger rooms. The only real change between the models would be the size of the stones and the construct itself. This one, though, is perfect for dens."

Siris and the small group listened as the SeaWing provided them with useful information and warnings. And then the ElderWing leader turned to his Fighters to address them. "For millennia we have denounced our breaths... But you few still can call upon them. Let us hope this night is not that time to do so. This NightWing wishes harm to us, we who made his existence possible. He seeks New Ilos, but has no idea of its location. Do not let him find it. Keep him in the skies. And... wound him only. ElderWing or not, he is kin, and we have no place to kill our own kind. Durval, as GateKeeper, you will lead."
With only a nod, Durval spread his wings and took to the air, commanding the small group of armored Fighters to do the same. There, Durval gave another command: he gave direct chase after Shizarou, while the other six split into three groups of two. Two groups flew off in opposite directions to flank the NightWing, while the last climbed up, hiding in the clouds.

((Is this thread entire moving over there, or just the battle? Because you're basically asking a cripple to go to war. Torg has no real special attacks, and can't even fly. He would basically be target practice.))

No, i meant that water can hold heat, so we heat up a bunch of it, which can then release the heat into the the surrounding air. We could, say, heat up a large pool of water in a cave during the night in the winter, and it would keep it warm all day long until the moon rises again and the stones heat it up again.

Meyo was fighting against a powerful dragon when suddenly the dragon launched him so far away that he reached the island, break the ground (if they are underground) and landed into the pool. When he re-emerged from the water he shouted "I WILL GET MY REVENGE YOU BLOODY BASTARD" then he noticed that he was swimming in a pool "OH SCYTHE, WATER!" he jumped out of the water and stick on the the roof. When he noticed the others he said, trembling like a baby, "W-w-who are you?"

Guryon stopped and norrowed his eyes at the dragon. He watied a second and sat down. "You will take me to your leader, do you understand?" Guryon stood up and waited.

Bain considered this as he felt around for an extra stone. "Yes, you're right. 20 stones should be sufficient to heat the pools in the capital. Then they can be placed in the herbal cave to recharge. Now, we have 10 stones here already, we need only that much more. They will be easy to identify, of course, the only to emit heat. Help me find some." (Eh, too lazy to add in the green.)

Cinulith waved his paw dismissively at Guryon. "Sure, sure. I'll take you to him, all right. Don't worry." He continued on, hoping Vona was still following.

((That's quite a distance, Meyo. O.o Trying to imagine how that would work and if you'd even be able to maintain the momentum to do so. Hm, gonna have think on that a minute.))

(Mmmmmmmmmh........I need to think about that.....can you give me some ideas because my imagination is lacking these days)

He picked up one of the stones and studied it for a bit. Where do we find them though...? Never seen one of these before.

((Im starting to feel bad about all these short posts... But what more could be written in this situation other than extra embellishment by describing all the details more precisely?))

"They are generally found on this hill, but some can be just a foot or two underground. But with the moon out tonight, you should be able to find them by heat alone. Ah, some are green in color. Others are blue, I believe."

The ElderWings were making their way to a safe place when a dragon crashed through the ceiling. By appearance, it appeared to be a FireWing. At least it wasn't the NightWing attacking the island. But now there was panic. What if he saw the hole and flew in? A couple worked to quickly repair if. Soon, all was well in that respect, but what of this FireWing? While the rest continued on further into the caves, one ElderWing flew up to the crash lander. "We're ElderWings. And I'm sorry, but we must go. One of you mainlanders is attacking us. Come down from there, you can hide with us."

So be it. I shall be back with the grandest of heating apparatuses forthwith!
With that, he sets off into the night, looking for rocks.

GUryon followed him for a second and then stopped. "If you do not take me to him, I will take myself to him" GUryon was stretching out his wings.

GUryon waited impatiently as Cinulith prepared to fly. As soon as te young dragon was ready GUryon shot into the air. He did flips and loop-de-loops. He finally leveled with Cinulith and heard him say the thins he said. "Yea let's go" Wth that Giryon hat towards a clouds. Trying to reach the lake as fast as possible. He eventually dive-bombed into the lake.

*several hours later*
Torghaith returned to their original spot and emptied his bag, revealing half a dozen stones of various sizes
Whats the verdict, oh wise one...?

Thats a lot of stones... Torghaith said in a distraught tone.
Where are we anyway? We came quite a long way with your son and i had some difficulty keeping track of our position underground

Guryon emerged from the water a few feet from who he thought was the leader. ”Are you their leader?" Guryon was oblivious to the fighting going on.

GUryon gave a slight bow and stood fully. ”I am Guryon Semi-God of the SeaWings, and I have come to talk to you." He is still completely oblivious.
