A Problem That Has Returned

It was tamed for awhile, but now this problem has come back. Long signatures. I abosultly lose my mind over them. I know people might disagree, but I want to see if I can try to set some ground rules.
-put all youtube videos and large pictures in a spoiler/code box
-if you do have anything like long monologs do the same
-if you are unsure if your sig is too long, just ask, we'll tell ya the truth
Add on as you wish people! I just don't want half the forum to be sigs again.

Not to point out names, but recently looking around DRF I saw large png's *coughcough*.

Seriously people? Instead of being rude and just eyeing my sig and sating its too big you can just telll me "it's too long, may you make it shorter?" Also, if you guys really don't know who's ridiculously large png in their signature I'm talking about is Rayla.

Don't worry about it I, and i think we all see your point, it's a legitimate criticism and complaint, I could see how it would be a problem if everyone's was insanely long.

Frost, I don't want to offend anyone or escalate this further  (and I do agree, there's some people with massive sigs that should probably be cut down to size) but you might wanna see who's talking before you make this complaint.
Again, I don't want to be insulting when I say this, but it's worth noting that yours is a lot longer than most posts people make.
But still, I agree. I think there was once a limit on the sig size. It might be nice to put that on again, as there have been a few times when I've wondered if I was looking at a signature or a post with youtube videos in it.
Some are that long.

Well hold on now. I agree youtube videos certainly need to be placed in spoilers. If its just the music you want then send me a link to the song and I'll turn it into a nice little player like this.


I haven't seen any particularly long monologues except Frosts but hers is basically the only thing on there so its fine. Images however are a bit of a more delicate matter. They tend to be more important to people especially if they put a lot of work into them like mine or Ark's. The question is how big is too big? To give an example of image sizes mine is 500x610 and Tene's is 774x1032 wait that's not right. After invading Tene's personal space it appears as if his is set to 400x500. Now Rayla's image is 640x480 so its actually no bigger than ours. Its just more obnoxious. So what will the limit be? My vote is 1150 in total. My total is 1110 Tene's is 900 and Rayla's is 1120.

I agree. As long as it's shorter than a, lets say, 500 word post, I'm fine with it. But people with oversized pictures that break the site, it doesn't bother me. Also, compared to many, many, MANY others, Frost's sig is a little babby.

The only reason I hate long signatures is that I can't reply and have a look at the last post at the same time XD
The only sigs I know that I feel are way too big are Rayla's (no offense but that gif should be either in a spoiler or resized) and Wayra's (since she hasn't resized it yet).

Personally, I find think any of the current signatures are a problem. Let people express themselves! It's not as if it's a crime. Plus, it only takes a moment to scroll up to see posts past signatures. If you don't like it, go into editor, where the signatures are removed, and post from there. If going by a choice of dimensions, however, I support Cele's numbers, as it makes the most sense, and would cause a lot of people the least trouble
