Personality:
A proud individual, to those who don't know him Erebus can appear curt, short-tempered, and judgemental however under his exterior he is a dragon with a kind heart and weakness for his own compassion to others. Confident and energetic, however this is due to the fact Erebus seems to over compensate to hide his true insecurities. He cares deeply for all other Dragons especially those closest to him, due to his past when pushed to much Erebus can get flooded by emotions due to a sort of PTSD from his fear of Nightwings. In some matters Erebus can be considered naive, this is due to the fact the majority of his life he has been controlled and everything dictated to him, this often leaves him in a position where he might struggle to think for himself in certain situations and prefer others to prompt him into action.
Fears: Nightwings, the lesser races (He thinks they’ll mistake him for a Nightwing), slavery, the Gods, the Archon.
Strengths: Areal manoeuvring with aerobatics, this transfers to his ability in any body of water where his adept swimming and driving has allowed him an extended knowledge of using water currents and the deep caverns and dynamic ground of the seafloor to hide or hunt from his foes and prey.
Weaknesses: Not physically strong, and often hesitates on leadership capability and problem solving.
General Appearance
Height: 35ft
Scales: Erebus’s hide is an obsidian colour, while his underbelly is a deep dark brown. It should be noted as well his frills and wing membrane are a dark sea green.
Eyes: Golden.
Appearance:
From first glance many might see Erebus as a purebred Nightwing, his dark hide and size being a common sight, however upon closer inspection, one can see the pale blue bio-luminescent barbels upon his maw, along with webbed talons with hooked claws, and a thick, powerful tail used for swimming. Under his frills which in themselves resemble the coral of the seabed there are grills along his neck which allow for breathing underwater.

Skills and Abilities
Normal Abilities: Has inherited mainly all Seawing abilities, including waterbreathing. His breath produces a boiling temperature for his water breath. In addition, inherited slightly from his Nightwing father’s parentage, he can blend into the shadows, however this only can be utilised under water so that he can hide within the deep crevices of the bottom of the ocean.
Special Abilities: Using his bio-luminescent barbels on his maw at a range of One hundred and fifty yards, those that stare directly into them are momentary hypnotised and are thus paralyzed. The issue with this is if someone can break their attention or the line of sight is broken, they immediately snap out of the trance. This ability is usually used for the hunting of prey rather than fighting fellow dragons. This however also drains Erebus's energy, and thus can only use is sparingly once a day without being drained completely and fall to exhaustion.
Combat Style: Ambush and fast skirmishes, a particular focus on striking fast and avoiding retaliation.

Background
History:
Erebus’s past is a traumatic one which has molded him as a Dragon in his adulthood. Before his hatching, his Seawing mother Nereus sought refuge at the Ebonwing Isles following the Monster Scourge. It was the Seawings hope that she would be offered sanctuary, however at this point in time the Imperium Capital was yet to fall, thus the Nightwings were at the height of their power. To this end, instead of seeing the benefits of saving their fellow Draconic cousins, the Archon decreed that Nereus and her companions were to be given the protection of the Nightwings, stating that they would be given both food and shelter, they were then consequently as a result given such but not as equals, as slaves under the Potentate. Later when Imperium Capital fell and the Nightwings lost the mainland that would indeed provide sanctuary to other Dragons yet those of the Seawings who arrived first were denied a return to freedom and thus kept isolated on the Island of Tremendae (The seat of the Nightwing Slave trade and restricted for any other Tribe to visit), where they suffered the horrid mutilation given to all Slaves who were from the Draconic Tribes. Nereus was first bound by an enchanted collar which was transmitted from the Ebon Spire, ensuring she was unable to leave the island, as a secondary precaution her wing membranes were sheared off in a brutal act of scarification and the webbing of her talons split effectively disabling Nereus and her kin.

Nereus was later ordered to participate in a forced breeding programme, as the Archon Tenebris desired to alter the genealogy of the Seawings to effectively create a off-shoot sub-species of aquatic Nightwings for the purpose of producing a loyal Nightwing workforce with full citizenship what could essentially mine the sea bed for its precious materials as another form of sustaining the Nightwing economy. It was then that Erebus came into being, one of the very few hybrids that survived the harsh conditions to adulthood. As a hatchling he was taken from his mother, this resulted in her resisting what essentially ensured her execution, and knowing little of his father other than his name Moros. Erebus was brought up isolated away from the other Seawings, born into slavery to serve, from his birth he would be indocrinated in an attempt to ensure his loyalty to the Nightwings and the Nightwings alone. While the continued force breeding programme came to an end, with the result being very minimal, Erebus, coming into adolescence was brought to serve directly the Proprietor who served on the Obsidian Table at the Archons court.

Erebus at the time was given a reasonable amount of autonomy, having been indoctrinated from an early age he was essentially considered to be loyal and without a threat of fleeing, accepting his position. He served the Proprietor as Geological surveyor, examining the seafloor around the Ebonwing Isles for any potential natural resources and minerals that could be lurking at the bottom. It was during these surveys with the mobility and freedom to move throughout the Isles that Erebus witnessed the true horrors and hideous truth of the Nightwing potentate, an empire built on the suffering of others and the domination of all they considered inferior. Often outside his direct service to his master the Proprietor the other Nightwings would treat him with disdain and contempt. A truly hideous encounter happened when Erebus discovered what at first he thought to be one of the underwater landfills where Nightwings would deposit their waste such as left other meals etc into the ocean around the Isles, however what Erebus discovered was that these weren’t the bones of left over meals, but it was the site of a mass grave. This would have a profound effect upon the psyche of Erebus who realised that his so called masters were cruel and could possibly discard him once his usefulness came to an end.

Shaken by his discoveries over the years, Erebus decided to head to the Island of Tremendae to speak in person to the Seawings there, lingering doubts and a wanting desire to know of his true tribe and heritage drove him. Tremendae however is the seat of the Nightwing slave trade and all Slaves “born” into slavery are forbidden from Tremendae, as it was not only used as a penal colony for those what struck out against their masters but also the place abducted slaves were broken and re-educated. Approaching the nucleus of the Nightwing’s atrocities was reckless and foolish, but Erebus proceeded none the less driven by a primordial desire. He managed at first to avoid detection and managed to learn from a barracks of imprisoned Seawings who knew his mother about both her and his tribe. This relief and closure was short lived however, as Erebus was eventually captured when he tried to make good his escape back off the Island.

Beaten and humiliated, Erebus was subjected was torture, one of which being his index talon on his left paw being removed in a display of cruelty, before then being brought before the Overseer Lieutenant of the Island to face judgement. The Overseer was none other than Moros, his very father unbeknown to himself, the Overseer had long been forbidden to ever see his hatchling only ever hearing word of him. Moro dismissed the guards and instead of the torture what Erebus was expecting the two spoke long into the night and into the daylight hours of dawn, it was here that Moro explained that his life had been one of guilt and shame. Despite progressing in the Nightwing hierarchy, Moros was essentially a broken Dragon behind closed doors, a lifetime of regret now presented itself with a way of redemption. Moros secured Erebus’s escape, pushing him to seek out the Seawing remnants of their tribe and never return to the horrors of the past, to find his mother’s kin, to know true freedom. While Erebus fled thanks to the efforts of Moros, it would be apparent of Moros treachery and Erebus knew that his father in saving him had signed his own death warrant. Erebus heading west away forever from the Ebonwing Isles, and knew would never see his father again despite only ever meeting him once, the past was now behind him and a new life awaited. As for Moros he would be reported and detained by the Inquisition who proclaimed him a heretic to the Nightwing tribe, as punishment as he aided the Seawing, he was drowned in a public ceremony upon the central island of Shadow’s Refuge in the presence of the Archon. Encased in a warped ebony cage and slowly lowered into the bay outside of the palace before winched back up to ensure his death. As a heretic his body was denied all rites of ceremony and thus his corpse would be mutilated with his wings first removed and then his limbs so what resembled looked like a serpent, his remains would be then fed to the lesser species of slaves what serve the Nightwings.

This is my character, however it still needs to be reviewed and approved accordingly.

Ok. The one thing is that the special ability could get a little like god-moding if you're not careful. I'd suggest adding some sort of cool down for its use.
