Hildrhilt lay on a bed of brush, dozing lightly as the fatigue of the day had worn her down. Every little sound drove her from a light sleep, a simple snap of a branch, a rustle in the leaves. It could be anything. Anything that could harm her. Without the protection of her tribe, she was very vulnerable and that thought scared her.

Why did I fly away like I was told? She thought to herself as she shifted her weight slightly, a small rustle waking her. She should have stood her ground and tried to defend her tribe, why did she have to be so skiddish? With a heavy sigh, she closed her bright orbs, attempting to drift into the welcome arms of sleep.

Monsters had attacked her tribe, driving away any who were not as strong as the guardians, which included Hildrhilt, and now she didn't know where she was. She flew as far and fast as her wings could carry her, mind only occupied with keeping herself safe. The dreams haunted her at night, much like this nap she attempted, and sleep was a fickle friend.

Hildrhilt watched as the Dentem Magi moved very quickly toward Baldirak, continuing her position above the large dragon. Her heart was racing, turning her eyes down to the male, “Can you move?” She yelled down to him, hoping he could hear her over her strong winds which now whipped at a breakneck eighty-five miles per hour, nearing their maximum speed. Hildrhilt’s keen hazel orbs flicked around as she watched the events unfold before her, “Please, get up! King Baldirak needs your help!” She yelled as desperation set into her being, her wings beating rapidly. When she realized the dragon was more than likely stuck, she looked over her shoulder toward her King. Turning her attention back to the king's nephew, Hildrhilt thought about calling out to him once more to ask him to get up but King Baldirak’s voice broke through the wild winds around her.

Looking up at his words, she saw the dragon spiraling towards her and this caused her eyes to widen in fear, wings faltering momentarily. Anticipating an impact, Hildrhilt watched as the dragon came closer yet his confirmation changed, meaning he was planning on changing directions. Time seemed to slow as the dragon came fully into view, her own heart slowing, watching for her opportune moment to dodge the oncoming projectile.

With a strong thrust of her wings, Hildrhilt’s body moved downward quickly, avoiding the dragon that barreled past her and crashed into the clearing to her right but her mind should have been on the direction she was moving. Before she could realize what she was doing, Hildrhilt’s form was met by a solid force, causing her to grunt as the air was forced from her lungs. With a shake of her head, she lifted it and met the eyes of the dragon that was once below her....but much further away.

Shock had frozen her in place as her hazel eyes held the gaze of the dragon she had inadvertently chosen as her perch. When she finally realized what had happened, she immediately began to try and scramble off of the male, mumbling under her breath as her legs refused to take hold and help her remove herself. Why now...why now do you turn to rubber… She thought as she continued to trip and slide before finally, her paws found the earth. She turned quickly and lowered her head, “I...I am terribly sorry….” She said quietly.

Before the male could speak, she turned and began to make her way across the clearing toward Tharasis, simply to make sure he was ok. If a dragon could blush, now would be the time, and she would be a four legged cherry.

Vilkas couldn't believe what he was hearing. The female was asking whether he could move, and then told him to get up. Was it not obvious that he couldn't get up on his own. Isn't that why she came over, to help him? But Vilkas couldn't worry about it now, he was about to be crushed by two not so smart dragons. One apparently couldn't tell that he needed help, and the other had the bright idea to divebomb a moving target from too high up. Vilkas braced himself as well as he could. The barrier Mae put up softed the blow only slightly. Vilkas felt the air being forced from his lungs when the female landed on him. Instead of also feeling the weight of the other male, Vilkas heard a crashing sound. But it was further away. He opened his eyes to look and found himself staring at the female. Before he could say anything, she tried to get off him in the most awkward way possible. He grimaced and growled as she clawed at his stomach in an attempt to get up. By the time she finally found her footing, Vilkas had a little blood on him.

Baldirak had no idea how that dragon avoided crashing into Hildrhilt. Given his size and the speed he was diving, he shouldn't have. Only a SkyWing could have managed it. But the Twilight couldn't be bothered with that now. The Dentem Magni had noticed the downed dragon, who had landed only 20ft away. It coiled tighter around the EarthWing, making it harder for him to breathe. Baldirak let go of the giant snake as he struggled for breath.  The snake then struck at the failed divebomber.

Mae was just as astounded as everyone to see that the divingbombing dragon managed an impossible feat. She noticed the other female going to check on the other Mainlander. She called out to her, "Stay and help Vilkas! I can help this one!" With that, Mae contacted her fellow ElderWings using her crest. "Durval, Ullie, we need you here." A moment later, Mae watched as the giant snake struck out a the injured dragon.

As Tharasis lied there the Dentem Magni was closing in on him, Tharasis felt the feeling finally return to him. As if the Aching pain was bad enough Tharasis intently felt the new pain sore through his side. The Dentem Magni had struck him at his left leg. His scales did little to resist the attack, And the snakes fangs easily pierced the scales. Now the snake began to drag him towards itself as it injected its poison, But Tharasis is now where in any real danger of being poisoned. It would take alot more than 1 bite for Tharasis, coupled with the fact that he had a bit of a better immunity thanks to him being part E.W

The pain was coming back as he was being dragged by the snake. The scratches and tiny open wounds on his body skidded on the ground. He did not know what to do, so relying of instincts he began to thrash and swing his tail violently at the snakes general direction in a effort to break free. But try as he might it did little and the snake was apon him.

Coiling around him, Tharasis again attempted to escape by thrashing his body. It bearly did anything and as the snake was about to begin to squeeze on his body.

The Dentem Magni bit into the dragon's left leg and dragged him toward it. As it did so, the giant snake uncoiled from around the EarthWing and proceeded to coil around Tharasis. Baldirak caught his breath as the snake left him to pursue the smaller dragon.

The ElderWings Durval and Ullie arrived moments later. "Mae! We're here for ya, lass!" the GateKeeper exclaimed.

Ullie landed beside Mae. "What do you need?"

"Ilos Baldirak was constricted by that Kreu (Monster). And his nephew had another Mainlander land on him. Heal them if they need it, Ullie. Durval, Vilkas is also stuck. Help him up."

"Aye, lass. And what about you?"

"I'll try to help the other one until you two are done."

Ullie, the youngest of the three, looked a little worried.
"Be careful, Mae. I might be just a Healil (Healer Trainee), and the youngest, but I can fight better than you can."

"I'll be fine, Ullie.. Now hurry up."

"Don't you worry, lass. Ol' Durval will get the job done quicker 'an you can say New Ilos." Durval flew off to help Vilkas and Ullie went to Baldirak. Vilkas looked up... or down, rather... as the ElderWing landed. "Hello, lad! I hear yer in need o' some help." Durval used his clubbed tail to break up the ground around and beneath Vilkas so he could free himself.

"Thanks," Vilkas said as he rolled onto his paws and got up. "We have to go help that Rogue now."

"Aye, sure, lad. But first you ought to get yer belly checked." Durval flew off toward the Dentem Magni.
Ullie found that Baldirak's wings had been fractured under the pressure of the snake, but otherwise he was fine. She cast a healing spell on his wings then quickly flew off to see to Vilkas. "Was there another Kreu here?" the Healil asked as she examined and began healing him.

"No... She landed on me and had trouble getting up," the demigod replied as he gestured to Hildrhilt with a flick of his tail. Once Ullie finished healing him and turned her attention to Hildrhilt, Vilkas flew to his uncle. "What now, Uncle Dirak?"

Baldirak looked at his nephew as he approached. He'd finally caught his breath. "Now we end this. I want you to go into the woods and tunnel below ground."

"And then what?"

"Wait for an opening."

Vilkas gave a nod and flew off to do as he was told. Baldirak joined Durval and Mae, who had each just grabbed a section of the giant snake in an attempt to stop it from completely coiling around the Rogue. Ullie, meanwhile, spoke to Hildrhilt. "I think you and I should stay here until we're absolutely needed."

Hildrhilt began her regretful pace toward the stuck male, her eyes flickering between all the action. Between all the elderwings flying around and the rouge being attacked, she had no idea what her next move would be after helping the one called Vilkas.

As Durval spoke, Hildr offered a tiny nod, her hazel orbs upon the Elderwing for a moment before flickering toward Vilkas. The hot flush created by the memory of flying into the male made her uncomfortable, causing anger to bubble up inside of her being. She was not mad at anyone in particular, mainly at herself for not watching where she was flying. He was stationary, stuck in the ground, definitely an easy target to miss and yet she managed to land right on his exposed belly. Not only that, but she had injured him, which didn’t make her case any better. She stopped and listened as the two spoke to one another, a sting of disappointment stabbing into her gullet at Vilkas’ tail gesture toward her, lowering her head in shame.

As the healer flew over to Vilkas, Hildrhilt shifted her weight slightly upon her paws, wings lowering slightly. When Ullie addressed Hildrhilt, a soft sigh escaped her lungs as she stood in place, only nodding to the Healil and not daring utter a word. So Hildrhilt stood near the female, her body language that of a child scorned for an action they knew better than to do. Hildr’s hazel orbs watched the events unfold before her, keeping silent and staying to herself unless she was needed. Just like Baldirak had told her before, but this time she would listen. She had caused enough damage.

The snake began to squeeze his body, but it suddenly stopped. Tharasis saw 3 dragons had grappled the snakes tail making it jolt at the sudden force that prevented it from going further with its intentions. Tharasis quicky took the open opportunity and attempted to bite the snakes neck, and using his wings he tried to use his wings to open up the tightened grip the snake had on his abdomen.

The Dentem Magni felt two dragons grabbing on to it. They were trying to pry it loose, but the giant snake would not relinquish its prey so easily. It could also feel said prey trying to free itself. But the Dentem Magni had coiled around the Rogue so that it could be devoured hind legs first. So the dragon's head would be suffocated by its body rather than its maw.

Baldirak reached the Dentem Magni. He saw Durval and Mae trying to pull the snake's coils loose to no avail. They backed away as Baldirak lowered his head and bit down as hard as he could on the snake. At the same time that he began lifting his head, the Twilight King struck the ground twice with a hind paw.

Vilkas had tunneled below the earth from the cover of the woods as his uncle had instructed. He made his way toward the others, following the rumblings above him from the struggle. He had just reached it when his uncle gave the signal. Vilkas let out a roar that cracked the earth and he pushed through. The moment he did so, he arched his back to make his spikey scales stick upward. Baldirak then brought the snake down on those scales as hard as he could.

The Dentem Magni, like any constrictor, could take quite a beating before finally letting go of its prey. The massive EarthWing had quite a bite, and for a moment the snake was about to let go, until it was lifted in the air. But then it found itself being impaled by many sharp things. Some pierced it. This new and perhaps even more uncomfortable pain made the snake writhe and try to get away. As a result, it released its prey... somewhat. It couldn't uncoil completely while it was being held by the bigger EarthWing and pressed against the other. But it was enough that the Rogue might be able to get the front half of its body free.
