Age: Let's just say he's four years old, and he fledged from the nest at a year of age like some other real life large raptors.

Personality: He's very vain, proud of his breed, and holds himself with dignity. Independence also allows him to think on his own and feel confident with himself. While he likes to be alone flying high or hiding in the tall thick trees, Xictus will enjoy the company of other friendly beasts. The bird is brave in all cases, but wary when it comes to wyverns and dragons.
Interests: He likes to watch other creatures and simply observe them. Sometimes this leads to conflict because some believe staring is offensive. He also likes to poop on anyone sitting below him as he perches in a tree or on some other high place. He enjoys hunting mammals and fish over most other kinds of prey. Another interest would be keeping his nest as sturdy and nicely decorated as possible for any ladies who might wander into his territory. He also simply enjoys a clean and pretty nest when there aren't girls around.
Dislikes: Anyone tampering with his nest or kill. He hates eating reptiles because of their dense scales and will only go after dragons, reptiles, or reptilians if he is starving. He also dislikes the taste of bird as well as needing to pluck their feathers in order to eat them. SO he tends not to go after birds or bird-like creatures often. He also does not like it when someone messes with his feathers.
Fears: He fears almost nothing. Death is a fear most creatures share with him and because of this it cannot truly be counted here. Through his experiences in this world Xictus has learned to fear smaller dragons that can fly far faster than he ever could. He also has a fear of losing all of his feathers and becoming permanently bald for some odd reason.

General Appearance
Height: 39.3 feet tall.
Scales/Feathers: His feathers are smooth and dark black around the majority of his body. Long yellow hued blackish flight feathers adorn his powerful wings. His tail feathers are also nearly black with a slight yellow hue to them. A band of yellow feathers curls around his neck. Another patch of short yellow feathers curls around his eyes matching the yellow of his thick long sharp beak. Another band of yellow feathers decorates the center of his wings close to his wrists.
Eyes: His eyes are a murky yellow gray but they are sharp and perceptive.
Appearance: The following is what this thunderbird looks like when his electric powers are not in use. His overall body appearance is that of a bird of prey. His feet an talons are yellow, and so is his beak. His talons are hooked and sharp as can be. The birds beak is also hooked and sharp so as to tear pieces of meat off of his prey. He resembles a much smaller distant cousin called an indian black eagle.

When he is using his powers over electricity he remains looking the same as before, but with a yellow glow radiating from his entire body. This glow only warns others that he is about to use his electricity and does no harm to anyone. However form this glow the electricity will appear in bright ever changing bits of static all over his body. These smaller bits of static he can control and move into a single large thunder bolt when he wants. The powers will be explained in his abilities section.

Skills and Abilities
Strengths: He flies at a top natural speed of 64 miles per hour, and while not the fastest of his kin Xictus leans a little more of his skills towards agility rather than full on speed. Physically speaking he is an impressive specimen and very strong for his size. Like all birds though his strength only carries over to how much he can fly off with in his talons. Xictus can carry off any dragon, whether it be an adult or a hatchling, the size of the smallest adult skywings. Humans beware, he could easily pick you and your horse up off the ground to fly you to his nest or feeding area.

Also his eyes are incredibly sharp. Not as sharp as a dragon's eyes, but with far better vision than most other creatures in Pyrria with the exception of maybe griffins, ice, and fire phoenixes.

Special Abilities:
Live Wire (potential name of this ability stated in the Lesser species post?)- The top recorded natural flying speed is 70 mph however these birds have the ability to channel electricity through their muscles to reach the top speeds of SkyWings. Doing so puts a large strain on their stamina and magic reserves and can't be maintained for long periods. His flying speed, when under his ability that courses electricity into his muscles is greatly enhanced, but it only lasts for ten minutes again before he has to stop and take a break. A break after using this ability which uses up a lot of his stamina has to last about thirty minutes before he can even take to the air and fly again. Only during a natural made thunderstorm can he use this ability without any kind of cool down/resting time. This is because his reserves of magic are fueled by the electricity in the air of a thunderstorm.

Electric Element - This is unique to thunderbirds and basically allows them to use their electric based abilities. It is a unique adaptation similar to the way fire and ice phoenixes can power/turn on their fire or ice techniques.

During a natural thunderstorm his electric element based abilities are maxed in power and may become deadly to varying smaller species. This is explained on each ability.

Static bolt - This ability has three forms which will be explained below.

Static form - This is basically just Xictus layering his body in static. His feathers shuffle constantly and the vibrating against each other creates the static from the friction he creates. Using his electric power he makes the existing static more powerful so that it can be seen sparking bright and yellow all over his body. This cloak of static can temporarily stun anyone who touches him. The stun only lasts for 3 seconds. Only during a natural thunderstorm can his stun last for an entire minute on creatures his size and a bit larger (from 41 up to 60 feet tall). For creatures smaller then him the stun can last for up to five minutes (anything shorter than 40 feet). Creatures less than 8 feet tall can be stunned to death his static stopping their heart. Since the static form is made by Xictus rubbing his feathers together he has no cool down time in this form.
Bolt form - While in the static form Xictus can decide to focus his electricity into a bolt of lightning aiming it at an enemy. Make sure not to be wearing any metal such as armor as this would mean that his lightning bolt will not miss. He can only shoot one bolt at a time for up to ten times before he must rest and recharge. His cool down resting time is five hours. Only during a natural thunderstorm will he be able to shoot an unlimited number of lightning bolts at a single time. He has no cool down during a thunderstorm as the electricity in the air kinda powers him up like a giant cloudy battery.

Weaknesses: His stamina is severely lacking. Much like a lion he can do short bursts of speed using his abilities and carry large amounts for short distances. For example, a small skywing dragon meal (which is the heaviest and most he can move) he could carry for about ten minutes in the air before having to settle down and perch somewhere to rest. Another fifteen minutes later and he's good to go again.

Combat Style:

Background
History: Xictus was born in the mountains of Pyrrhia. He had a normal life for a hatchling bird. The guy was fed, groomed, and taught how to survive. Then when he fledged and was able to fly on his own he left the nest as all birds do. Now he wanders aimlessly learning about the world around him.
RP Sample:
The tips of glossy black wings bend upwards resisting an updraft of warm moist air. Tail feathers stuck out erect against the wind angled one direction to push the giant eagle-like bird to the left. The massive creature flew daintily upon the high winds coming off of the ocean. The salty air stung his nostrils, but the bird knew that many good tasting delicacies awaited him in those shimmering blue depths.

Xictus was always hunting for the next meal. His life revolved around resting, flying, hunting, eating, and drinking. When one thing was satisfied he began to search for the next object to satisfy. Rarely did he fly without any meaning. Today he was hunting over the ocean. Though since his target today were various sea living species a better word to use would be fishing. Much like his eagle cousins the bird could live on a diet entirely composed of fish. However this bird, in his rare moments of needing nothing, did like to wander and learn about other creatures, places, and things. So he had adapted to hunting over the earth and sea so that he may continue traveling wherever he pleased instead of staying in a single territory.

This thunderbird was a striking fellow coated in deep black, with some sparse bits of yellow banding across his plumage. His kind were revered by humans, despite humans being a convenient snack for them. Xictus himself had not come into contact with humans much at all. He generally ignored smaller species to go after larger prey while it was plentiful. He only began to go after smaller prey like humans, horses, and such if other favored prey was scarce.

Ready, though I am pretty sure you guys are going to ask me to nerf some of those electric abilities. XD

'lasts for ten minutes again '

Does this mean he can fly at the top SkyWing speed for 10 minutes? If so, that seems like a long time to be flying at 120 mph.

I feel like if it took up a lot of energy and magic, it'd take more than 30 minutes to recharge. Either that or based on the fact he can use it indefinitely during thunderstorms I'd have it charge up during thunderstorms ^.^
