Sick guinea piggy

My guinea pig has fallen ill and I spent most of my afternoon crying instead of doing homework. We're scared it might die and little Butterscotch means a lot to me. And who will Rolo's cagemate be now?

I've owned Guinea pigs. I've got some knowledge on it..

Here are some things that can happen:

First of all, what are the pig's symptoms?

Once Butterscotch crosses the rainbow bridge, Rio may also get sick. Or, perhaps, cross with him to the rainbow bridge due to depression. There is a chance Rio could survive it. However, Guinea pigs are social creatures - they cannot live alone. They need a cage mate. Butterscotch may make it too, it just depends. I suggest cleaning their cage. (BTW: Don't use cedar shavings. It causes respiratory issues.)

We don't use cedar shavings. Although he doesn't have laboured breathing, he seems anorexic. This morning though he seemed pretty active and was eating. He has crusty eyes and was hardly eating. Due to that, he wasn't pooping much either.

I don't want them to go to the rainbow bridge. When I first heard of it, (I watch Piggiepigpigs) tears were streaming down my face. It's my favourite poem now. But I guess it just happens.

Also I'm worried that my mum gave him paracetamol but it seems to have helped him a lot.

I don't have guinea pigs, but I do have a ferret. Whenever he gets a little sicky, we give him a bath to help clear his body up a little bit. Then we just cuddle him so he feels loved. So maybe a bath would help?

I'm not trying to break your heart. I just really want to tell you what can happen.

My Guinea pigs had died, and I knew they were sick a few days before it happened. They barely moved, they too had crusty eyes, slept a lot, and they didn't eat. They didn't poop or pee.

But if it has helped, I suggest continuing it! Make sure you give him plenty of love, too. But don't forget about Rio.

He seems to be feeling much better now and he's been playing with Rolo much more.
I think it's because where I live, ittbeen snowey, lik -3 degrees then all of a sudden its 10 degrees and it's super sunny. *sigh* Well he seems better and that's all that matters, right?

I did once have Guinea Pigs, Diego, Dora and their daughter. I was lucky to never have them sick once, but we had to sell them, along with about the 30 babies they had. xD Quite alot of money, actually... xD

Once I was mouse sitting. Some person really loved their three mice Snowy, Poppy, and Ralph. It was a little morbid though because Snowy and Ralph had babies and Poppy ate them all. Then Snowy and Poppy had a battle to the death. Ralph then ate the corpse of Snowy after Poppy killed her, then they had more babies. o_O
