The Dog and the Apple


[14:27:50] Baldirak Sapiens Draco : I'm sitting at my desk. Bear is laying behind me on the back of the couch, with his back toawrd me. He didn't look up at all when I got up, so I figured he's sleeping. But just in case, I'm real quiet, because he knows that I keep the apples in a drawer in the fridge and he knows what it sounds like when I open it. So anyway, I get an apple, look over--he's still laying there. I creep back over to my desk and sit, and as quiet as possible when eating an apple, bite into it. *Sigh* Here comes Bear, running over. He sits and looks at me all expectantly. Bear: "Hey, you've got an apple! You're gonna share, right? Cause, you know I love apples and you said it's good for me to have once in a while.... Well, I haven't had one today, so...."


[14:29:31] Baldirak Sapiens Draco : Me: "This is my apple. Go eat Bear's food or go lay back on the couch." What does he do? He jumps up in my lap and tries to get the apple. And I'm leaning away from him.

[14:31:59] Baldirak Sapiens Draco : But that won't stop him. No, he just climbs all over me and puts his front paws on my arm like he's trying to walk out onto a branch. And then he's pulling my hand toward him so he can reach the apple. At the same time, I'm trying to get another bite without him lunging in for a sneak attack. Then finally he jumps down and sits and starts growling at me. Then he'll bark and whine.





[14:35:53] Baldirak Sapiens Draco : So to get him to leave me alone for two seconds, I'll go ahead and give him a piece. Of course, this only encourages him to continue with the whining and puppy barks. He might throw in a growl then lay down and wag his stubby tail. So I decide to just share with him. And after its gone and I throw the core away, he runs around the trashcan in the hopes that a piece fell on the floor. And then we end this quality time with him insisting on sniffing my hands and pockets to make sure I'm not hiding some.
